i have been trying to download the software for my computer but it will not download. any information i can get will be greatly appreciated. i have just recently acquired a laptop and would like to sync my cell phone to my laptop.

If you want to transfer media files to the phone from a computer or vice versa, it may be by mass storage or by downloading the New PC Studio Software to your computer. Please refer to the steps provided below for the configuration of your USB settings.
1. From Idle mode, press Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Personalize ➔ Phone settings ➔ USB mode and press the Select soft key or . 2. Select one of the following USB modes: • Samsung PC studio: sets PC Studio to launch as the default application when a USB connection is detected. • Ask on connection: requires the phone to display a message which requires you to assign a default USB application. • Mass storage: allows you to utilize the onboard storage capacity of the phone to store and upload files. This option allows your computer to detect the phone as a removable storage drive.

Thank you for your inquiry. You can change the message alert tone on the SGH-T749 (Highlight) phone by editing the sound profiles. Please follow the steps below.
1. From Idle mode, touch Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Sound Profiles. 2. Touch the Normal profile. 3. Touch the Pull down menu and select Message. 4. Touch the Message alert type field, select one of the following and touch Save. • Melody: the phone rings using the ring melody selected in the Message alert type menu. • Vibration: the phone will vibrate but not play a melody. • Vibration & melody: the phone vibrates and plays a melody simultaneously. • Mute: the phone is silent and does not play a melody or vibrate. 5. Touch the Message alert tone field, touch to select a ringtone and touch Save. 6. Touch the Message alert repetition drop-down and select one of the following options: • Once: repeats the message alert once. • Periodic: repeats the message alert periodically. 7. Touch the Alert tone volume slide bar, then touch and drag the slider to the volume level you desire (range is 1-7), and touch Save. 8. Touch the Message alert vibration field, and select Vibration select Vibration 1 - 3, then touch Save.

Are you trying to delete downloaded or preloaded music files?
There will be no option to delete preloaded or default music files (ringtones) on the phone. However, if you want to delete mp3 files on the phone, you can do it by following the steps below:
To delete MP3 files, from the Music or Sounds folder, follow the steps below:
1.From the home screen, press on Menu 2. Press on Applications 3. Press on Files 4. Press on Sounds 5. Press on Music and/or Sounds 6. Press on Delete 7. Press on each MP3 file to check their box or press on All to check it and All other boxes 8. Press on Delete 9. Press on All to check it and All other boxes, if prompted, then press on Delete to confirm the deletion of MP3 files from the Music or Sounds folder

You may going to need Samsung New PC Studio software in order to download music on the phone, making sure also that you are using the genuine Samsung USB cable that came with the phone. You may use this links to download the software and other option to download music on the phone.

1.Download the PC Studio software from the Samsung website. The installation package includes the drivers that allow your computer to detect the Samsung Highlight.
2. Double-click on the file downloaded to your computer in the preceding step and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
3. Touch "Menu" at the bottom of the Samsung Highlight screen, then tap "Settings" and "Phone Settings."
4. Tap "USB Settings" and select either "Samsung PC Studio," "Ask On Connection" or "Mass Storage." When you select "Samsung PC Studio," the PC Studio software will open automatically when you connect the phone to your computer. Selecting "Mass Storage" will create a removable disc drive on your computer, permitting you to transfer files to and from the memory card in your phone. If you choose "Ask On Connection," a window will open prompting you to choose between opening PC Studio or treating your phone as a mass storage device.
5. Pull the charging port cover off of the charging port on the right side of the Samsung Highlight and plug the thin end of the phone's USB cable into the port.
6. Connect the other end of the USB cable, which is a standard USB connector, into a USB port on your computer. The computer will recognize the Samsung Highlight after several seconds.

Thank you for your correspondence. There is no configurable option on the phone to uninstall and reinstall the weather widget. You may try to perform a soft reset on the phone by turning OFF the phone, taking out the battery for at least 10-15 sec, put the battery back in, turn it ON and evaluate it. If it’s still not working, you may call your service provider which is T-Mobile at their Customer Care toll free number at 1-800-937-8997 and with them for the data services settings.

Touch screen is working fine - but lock, end, go, and back buttons keep locking out intermitently - will lock for 3 to 5 minutes and then open.

Are you referring to the PIN code of the SIM card inserted on the phone?
Please call your service provider regarding the issue of resetting the PIN code for your SIM card.
If this is in regards to the passcode to access the device, the default phone lock code of your phone is "0000" or "00000000". If the default phone lock code did not work then we can do a reset on the phone.
