Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. There are no available configurable options to sort the contacts saved on your Samsung SGH-T479. Once you saved contacts on your phone, they are alphabetically arranged by first name.

You can try saving the last name first of that contact on the phone manually, so that the last name will appear first when you view the list of contacts on SGH-T479.

Hi there.

Here are the steps on how to use the ABC mode for texting on your phone.

With the phone slider closed, to use ABC mode, use the letter keys to enter your text.
1. Press the key labeled with the letter you want:
• Once for the first letter, twice for the second letter, and so on.
2. Select the other letters in the same way.
• To enter periods, hyphens, apostrophes, and other special characters, press and hold the * key
then press the key that contains the associated symbol.
• To shift case in ABC mode, press # , then press the letter key.

Note: You can move the cursor by using the Navigation keys.

Just a tip, the cursor moves to the right when you press a different key. When entering the same letter twice or a different letter on the
same key, just wait for a few seconds for the cursor to automatically move to the right, and then select the next letter.
