How can I get my contacts to sort by LAST NAME instead of FIRST NAME

When I look at my contact list, they are arranged by first name, that is the default setting I guess? Not good for me. How can I get them to sort by last name.

Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. There are no available configurable options to sort the contacts saved on your Samsung SGH-T479. Once you saved contacts on your phone, they are alphabetically arranged by first name.

You can try saving the last name first of that contact on the phone manually, so that the last name will appear first when you view the list of contacts on SGH-T479.

Thank you for your inquiry.
Regarding your inquiry, please follow the procedures below:

Removing the Cover
1. If necessary, switch off the phone by holding down the end call key until the power-off image displays.
2. Remove the cover by pulling up on the slot, then lift the cover up and off the phone.

Removing the Battery
Lift up and remove the battery.

Replacing the Battery
1. Slide the battery back into the compartment so that the tabs on the end align with the slots at the bottom of the phone.
2. Press the battery down until it snaps into place.
3. Check that the battery is properly installed before turning on the phone.

Installing or Removing the Memory Card
1. Your phone supports an optional memory card (microSD™) for data storage of such things as music, pictures, video or other files. This type of memory card is designed for use with this mobile phone and other devices.
2. Place the microSD card into the slot (as shown) and push lightly with your thumb or finger until you hear a light click sound. Ensure the microSD’s gold contact pins face downward and the card is placed so that the indentations on the card face the same direction.
3. Push the microSD card with your thumb a second time to eject it from the slot.

Replacing the Cover
1. Press down on the corners of the battery cover until you hear a click.
2. Verify that the battery cover is secured.

Hi there!

With regard to your inquiry, use the IMEI number of your phone which can be found at the back of your phone underneath the battery or simply press *#06# on your keypad to get the correct IMEI.

If you happen to have the box that came with the phone, you can find the IMEI number around the box at the top bar code.

Question

Battery problems normal?

I just got my Gravity 3 & the battery only lasts about 10-12hrs on a "full charge"
After reading the reviews on this phone I've discovered many people complained about this issue. Has it been resolved & is there a new battery that I can get that holds a charge?

Hi!

Battery life durations specified on our products are tested in our labs under multiple different conditions and the talk and standby times are a realistic average maximum dependent on customer usage variables.
Battery power consumption depends on a number of factors, such as network configuration, signal strength, operating temperature, features selected, frequency of calls, and voice, data, and other application usage patterns.

Some variables that may affect battery life are:

• Backlight settings set to always on or a long amount of time.
• Ring tone settings set to higher volume settings.
• Vibrate settings turned on.
• Using Internet Services including Text Messaging.
• Making and/or Receiving calls in, or simply standing by in, an analog

service area.
• If you tend to be in a "weak" coverage area where your signal strength

meter shows only 1 to 2 bars.
• Using non-SAMSUNG charging accessories can cause battery life and other issues, as well as void the manufacturer’s limited warranty.

If symptoms persists, please contact our Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

We're glad to be of assistance on your Samsung Phone!

Hi there!
When adding ringtones to specific contacts, the ringtones are saved on the phone’s memory not on the sd card. You can free up some memory space on your phone by deleting temporary files like cache and cookies
Please follow the steps below on how to delete internet history.
Home the home screen, press menu
Select web2go
Select browser settings
Clear cache, select yes to confirm
Select cookies, delete cookies and select yes

Note: you can only use ringtone less than 300kb.

If the issue still persists, I invite you to call our technical support hotline for further assistance to help you resolve the issue. Please contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

Thank you for your inquiry.

You can download mp3 from your service providers website.

The other option is by downloading the Pc Studio to your computer in order for the phone to sync. You can download the pc studio just by following the link.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportDownloadCenter.do?prd_ia_cd=N0000005&prd_mdl_cd=SGH-T479RNATMB&prd_mdl_name=SGH-T479

Once you have downloaded the pc studio to your computer.
Make sure that you are using a Genuine Samsung USB cable.
Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot
When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top of the display
If prompted, Select the PC Studio USB setting
The New Samsung PC Studio program will automatically appear on the PC
Click on the SGH-t479 icon , located in the top right corner, to open a box showing the handset's internal memory
Just drag and drop on the mp3 file or copy and paste.

Note: purchase a micro sd card in order for you to download more mp3 (the recommended sd card size for this model is 16Gb).

The default passcode for the phone is "0000" or "00000000".

There is no way that we can retrieve the passcode that was set on the phone.

If the default passcode did not work then we can do a reset on the phone.

Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.
