I just spoke with a sales person at my local TMobile store and she indicated that you cannot turn off the noise it makes when you touch the keypad. The only time it does not make noise is when it is on vibrate or silent.

Hi MizG!

Thank you for your inquiry. There's no configurable option for you to turn off the keypad tone on your Samsung Gravity 3 (SGH-T479) unless you put the phone in Silent mode. By doing this, the sound setting of the phone will be turned off or will go in Vibrate mode. This serves as a software limitation.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this presents.

You have to buy a data cable, and download software to your laptop/computer that you can find at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/SGH-T479RNATMB. The software was pretty easy to use and I was able to get all of the pictures off my phone and put ring tones / music on my phone with no problems.

set up email account (yahoo or other pop acct) and send email with music file/pic/ringtone mp3 as attachment. download and find in file menu. be sure and set the file size limit of email attachments to 5mb (the maximum the phone allows). This works--but the data cable method is more efficient.

Bluetooth will do you wonders my friend. It's simple to connect via bluetooth, if your computer has the capabilities. Your only other option is to buy a data cable. It might be cheaper for a USB bluetooth card.

Question

Is there a way of engaving "voice activated dialing" (voice recognition) by pushing one button?

The phone is a Gravity 3 T-479.
Also, once in the voice activated mode is there a way to keep the phone in that mode after ending the call? This is important while driving in restricted areas.

Why does my music player go silent approximately 3 minutes into most songs?

Sometimes it is a few seconds more or a few seconds less. It continues to appear to play on the screen, but does not make sound. There are no calls or text messages coming in while this is occurring.

Greetings!
I do apologize for the inconvenience that this may caused you. Right now we can’t really determine if the issue is with the phone or with the files. For basic troubleshooting steps maybe you may try doing a soft reset first. Turn off your phone, remove the battery, remove the SIM card, wait for a minute or two, put everything back and turn it on. Checked and play the songs using the music player. If it does the same thing, maybe you can also try to change the location of your songs. If the songs are saved on your phone memory, try to move it on an SD card. If the songs are on the SD card, try to move it on the phone memory. After changing the location of the songs and nothing happened, you can also try playing the songs on another phone or device. If the songs play fine on other device, we can verify that it would be a phone issue.
We can do minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.
If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.
For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).
Sincerely,
Technical Support

I had/have a similar issue with my Gravity 3 when I was using either of the visualization modes. Try turning off visualization and see if it still happens. From my personal research, it appears that either the firmware has a bug in it when using either of the two visualization modes that causes the sound to cut out after some play time or that the physical limitations of the hardware, CPU, memory, etc, are insufficient to play the music and have the visualizaton run at the same time.

Tricky but simple... Look at the bottom/end of your phone. You'll see a small "finernail" sized opening there. Just use your fingernail to pry open and pop off the back. Don't be afraid to break anything, it takes a little force. Simple as that. Good luck!

Hi, Puppygray!

If you’re pertaining to the font size in your incoming text messages that is too small, you’ll just have to adjust it using the volume buttons.

Once you open up a message from your inbox, press the volume up key (if you want to enlarge the font size) and press the volume down key (to reduce the font size) on the phone.

Thank you for your continued interest in Samsung products.

Thank you for your inquiry. As I have checked here with my resources, the phone came with a MicroUSB Charging Data Cable with the model code: APCBU10BBE.

However, samsung doesn't give out any accessories aside from the one that came with the phone.

If you would like to purchase an accessories you can contact contact our Accessories Department by dialing toll-free *Accessory Sales Department – (1-888-987-4357)
Listen to the prompt that would lead to the accessory sales.

Sincerely,
Technical Support.
