The SGH-T459 supports a number of e-mail service providers. It will be required to first use a PC or laptop to setup a new e-mail account with one of the e-mail services before configuring e-mail options on the handset. Supported E-mail service providers include the following:
• AIM
• AOL
• Yahoo
• Comcast
• Cs
• Gmail
• Juno
• Mac
• Verizon
Other e-mail providers may be supported. Please contact the e-mail service provider for more information.
To configure an e-mail account on the SGH-T459 follow the steps below:
1. From standby press the Menu key
2. Select IM & E-mail (4)
3. Select E-mail (2)
4. Highlight a E-mail provider or select More Accounts and press OK
5. Enter the username of the e-mail account (info before the '@' symbol)
6. Enter the password for the e-mail account
7. Select whether to always remianed signed into the account
8. Select whether to receive new mail notifications
9. Press the Options key and and select Sign-In

If you’re trying to set a personal tone as message alert tone on your phone, then there would be no configurable options for that. The SGH-T459 handset can only use default tones for message alerts.

If the phone is asking for a phone lock code as you turn it on, what we can only offer as passcodes would be "0000" or"00000000". If these codes will not work, then you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.

We're sorry to hear you dropped your phone into water.

Due to Samsung's policy with repairs, any damage encountered to the phone through water or other liquids can and in most cases will cause corrosion to the inner workings of the handset. In these circumstances, it is no longer feasible to attempt to repair the phone; consequently, the phones received in this condition into our North Texas repair facilities are shipped back to the customer un-repaired. If you have insurance through your service provider please contact them for a possible replacement phone. Also, if you purchased the phone with a credit card most companies offer buyers protection. Contact your Credit Card Company to inquire about this program.

Is the caller ID active on the handset? If yes, then the phone would be able to identify the name of the person who's calling you as long as the number is saved on the phone.

I highly suggest to make sure that the number is saved only once on the phone and it is saved as a 10-digit number.

How can I be notified when I receive new emails?

I check the box that that says "New Mail Notification" in the Account Settings, but I have never received a notification, causing me to miss some very important deadlines. Does the SGH-T459 have the ability to check email on a schedule then notify me if there is a new one?

When your handset receives new messages, icons display on the screen in two locations: on the View Tab that displays on the lower portion of the screen, and on the top of the screen.

The icon (it looks like a notepad) displayed at the top of the screen indicates that a new text message or email message was received.

Account settings vary depending on your Email account. You may call your Email provider and check if there are options available for notifications.

Creating a Caller Group on the Samsung Gravity™ Full Qwerty Cell Phone (SGH-T459) and adding members to it. Contacts must be saved on the phone memory and not the other way around.

Regarding about your concern, we recommend saving contacts from your SIM card to the phone and then add them to Caller Group.

Please also take note that you can only add up to 20 contacts to each Caller group on the SGH-T459 handset.

How do i import the photos from my phone unto my computer?

I have a samsung sgh-t459 qwerty cell phone. I bought it over a year ago and it has been great. I'm changing phones now, but don't know how to get the photo's and videos on my phone unto my computer. I had a samsung phone prior to this and that had software come with it for this very thing. This phone came with no software and i don't know what to download from your site. HELP!!!!

Thank you for your correspondence. You may transfer your pictures and videos from and to a computer using any of the methods listed below.

Via Memory Card

1. From standby press the Menu key
2. Select Settings (9)
3. Select Phone Settings (3)
4. Select USB Mode (5)
5. Highlight Mass Storage and press the OK key
6. Insert a memory card into the memory card slot
7. Plug one end of a compatible data cable into the handset and the other end into a USB slot on a computer.

You will now have access to the memory card on the computer under My Computer. The handset will be listed as a Removable Disk and will have a drive letter assigned to it. Copy and paste pictures and videos from the Removable Disk to the desired location on the computer.

Via PC Studio 3

You can download Samsung PC Studio from www.Samsung.com Download Center.

1. From standby press the Menu key.
2. Select Settings (9)
3. Select Phone Settings (3)
4. Select USB Mode (5)
5. Highlight Modem and press the OK key.
6. Plug one end of a compatible data cable into the handset and the other end into a USB slot on a computer or laptop.
7. On the computer, launch PC Studio 3
8. Click on the Phone Explorer icon.
9. Use the Phone Explorer interface to copy and paste pictures and videos from the handset to a desired location on the computer.

Question

T459Gravity will not stay on the network. It works intermittently but then begins "Searching" what is the problem? Is it worth fixing?

It even has bars of signaI while it continually searches. I reset the eprom with a special ** code to no avail.
