To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC

Question

I have a Samsung Gravity 3 cell phone. Whenever I plug in the USB cord the phone shuts off.

It doesn't matter if its the USB cord to charge the phone or to access the memory card from my computer. It used to stay on the entire time. When I unplug the cord the phone turns back on.

Thank you for your inquiry. You may try doing the soft reset on the phone by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it. If it's still not working and still doing the same thing, you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.

Hi, you need to copy your contacts to your sim card and insert your sim card to your new phone.
Once you have transferred your contacts to your sim card, you will be able to see your contacts on your new phone.
Here are the steps on how to copy your contacts to your sim card:
1. From standby press the Menu key
2. Select Phonebook (8)
3. Select Contact List (2)
4. Highlight the desired contact and press the OK key
5. Press the Options key
6. Select Copy to SIM Card (6)

Hi there!

If you’re trying to transfer pictures files from phone to computer or vice versa, the SGH-T459 handset features three different methods. Those are via Memory Card, via PC Studio 3 and via Bluetooth.

>Memory Card

1. Insert a memory card into the memory card slot
2. From standby press the Menu key
3. Select Settings (9)
4. Select Phone Settings (3)
5. Select USB Mode (5)
6. Highlight Mass Storage and press the OK key
7. Plug one end of a compatible data cable into the handset and the other end into a USB slot on a PC or laptop
You will now have access to the memory card on the PC under My Computer. The handset will be listed as a Removable Disk and will have a drive letter assigned to it. Copy and paste pictures and videos from the Removable Disk to the desired location on the PC.

>PC Studio 3

1. From standby press the Menu key
2. Select Settings (9)
3. Select Phone Settings (3)
4. Select USB Mode (5)
5. Highlight Modem and press the OK key
6. Plug one end of a compatible data cable into the handset and the other end into a USB slot on a PC or laptop
7. On the PC, launch PC Studio 3
8. Click on the Phone Explorer icon
9. Use the Phone Explorer interface to copy and paste pictures and videos from the handset to a desired location on the PC

>Bluetooth

1. From standby press the Menu key
2. Select Settings (9)
3. Select Bluetooth (4)
4. Press the [1] key to turn Bluetooth on
5. Select My Visibility (3)
6. Highlight On and press the Select key
7. Initiate the file transfer on the transmitting device
8. Press the Yes to confirm
The file transfer will begin

Hi there!

There is no available option to transfer your Itunes songs directly between the phone and computer.

Itune songs should be converted first to a format that is acceptable by the phone such as MP3.

Once it has been converted then you may transfer the songs through the mass storage capability of the handset.

For this method, the handset's USB Mode must first be set to Mass Storage and a microSD memory card must be present by following the steps below:

Insert a microSD memory card into the memory card slot located on the left side
From standby press the Menu key
Select Settings
Select Phone Settings
Select USB Mode
Highlight Mass Storage and press the Save key
Plug one end of the data cable into the handset's power/data port located on the right side and the other end into a USB port on the PC
On the PC, open My Computer and double-click on Removable Disk (Hint: it will be assigned a drive letter and, depending on system configuration, may not be the only Removable Disk present)
Using Windows Explorer, copy and paste (or drag and drop) MP3 files from your PC to the Music folder seen under Removable Disk

Music Player Shortcut Keys
1. In Idle mode, press Menu > Fun & Apps > Music player and press the Select soft key or the key.
2. Select a music file and press Play to play the music.
3. While playing a music file, the following keys act as shortcuts:
4. Press the key to exit and return to Idle mode.

- Up Navigation key toggles the music player’s Shuffle feature: On (enable this feature), or toggles to the repeat mode and replays this music file.
- Down Navigation key stops the playback of the music file.
- Left Navigation key plays the previous music file in the playlist.
- Right Navigation key plays the next music file in the playlist.

Upon checking the phone’s information the reason for that might be that the car kit was still on the list of devices under the connectivity on the phone. I would suggest to please delete it on the phone, so that the car won’t prompt you every time you are using the car itself.

Can I have my instrument back in working condition, I love it?

Had water splashed in the beach, however, the small square portion inside, below the battery, is still white and not red. Lost display, illuminated screen is white but receiving calls. Unfortunately, it is outside warranty, so, seeking your help if it can be fixed by myself.

Due to Samsung's policy with repairs, any damage encountered to the phone through water or other liquids can and in most cases will cause corrosion to the inner workings of the handset. In these circumstances, it is no longer feasible to attempt to repair the phone; consequently, the phones received in this condition into our North Texas repair facilities are shipped back to the customer un-repaired. If you have insurance through your service provider please contact them for a possible replacement phone. Also, if you purchased the phone with a credit card most companies offer buyers protection. We can do minimal troubleshooting to your phone. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

The signature for the Gravity phone is cannot be edited or it can’t be change. Normally you can only edit, or create signature on the messages for phone that are PDA and smart phones. Since the Gravity phone is only a basic phone, it does not have the option to edit signature.
