need settings for gprs for samsung t401g

what are the gprs settings suppose to be set on for multi s class? is it suppose to be multi s class 4, 8, 9, or 10? also can you help me to make my phone work properly. its slow, and stupid. half the time it wont allow you the page to display or it request time out or may just simply say an error code. i spent 380.00 on two of the t401g's-one for myself and the other for the wife. hers works different than mine. i cant access nothing and i am very disappointed. please help

Hi frankboard,

For this kind of setting, what's the best thing to do is to contact your service provider or the carrier for your handset. They will going to configure the system of your phone for them to connect it to their line. They will give all the info for you to use their service.

There is a good way to transfer all your contacts from your SGH-T401 to another SGH-T401 phone. And the best way to do that is make sure that all the contacts are saved on your sim card. Since your phone uses a sim card, it would be an advantage. If you have your contacts saved on your old phone, I would suggest you to move it into your sim card. And then you can put your sim card to your new phone. After that you can copy or move the contacts from the sim card to the phone memory. I’ll show you on how to move contacts from the phone memory to the sim card and from sim card to the phone memory.
To copy contacts, from the phone memory, to the SIM card follow the steps below:
While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Contacts (2)
Select Contact List (1)
Highlight the desired contact entry, stored in the handset's memory, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key for Options
Select Copy to SIM Card (9)
Select either Selected (1) or All (2)
Press the left soft key to Save the Contact to the SIM Card
Note: When a contact phone number is copied from the phone to the SIM card, the phone number may appear twice in the Contact list, depending on the Contact settings. All contacts which have been stored on the SIM card will appear with a SIM card icon to the left of the entry. Any contacts which have been stored on the handset will appear with a phone icon to the left of the entry
To copy contacts, from the SIM card, to the phone memory follow the steps below:
While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Contacts (2)
Select Contact List (1)
Highlight the desired contact entry, stored in the SIM card, using the navigation keys

Hi, Reduxiii!

I would like to inform you that there are no configurable options to set the downloaded tone as message alert tone on your SGH-t401 handset; you can only use the default tones that is save on the phone.

If you wish to change the message alert tone on the phone, you may follow the steps below:

1. From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
2. Select Settings (9)
3. Select Sound Settings (1)
4. Select Message Tone
5. Highlight the desired Message Alert Tone, using the navigation keys
6. Press the left soft key to Select the message alert tone
7. Press the left soft key to Save the Message Alert Tone settings.

Most issues may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting.Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

IN WARRANTY REPAIR:

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

NOTE: A copy of the Proof of Purchase must also be included with the phone when sending it in for service.

OUT OF WARRANTY REPAIR:

For information on what is and is not covered by The Standard Limited Warranty, we invite you to go to http://www.samsung.com/us/support/repairpolicy/servicePolicyWarrantyMain.do and view a full version of the warranty the covers all Samsung phones and accessories.

If the phone has experienced damage or is out of warranty by date (it was purchased more than one year ago) the standard charge will likely apply for the repairs to your phone. Charges start at $65.00 and can increase, depending upon the nature and severity of the issue. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

LIQUID OR MOISTURE DAMAGE:

Due to Samsung's policy with repairs, any damage encountered to the phone through water or other liquids can and in most cases will cause corrosion to the inner workings of the handset. In these circumstances, it is no longer feasible to attempt to repair the phone; consequently, the phones received in this condition into our North Texas repair facilities are shipped back to the customer un-repaired. A Customer Service Representative will be able to assist you between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time. The defective product will need to be sent to our repair center and a Proof of Purchase is required. The Repair Administrator will assign an RMA # for the repair that will need to be written under our address on the outside of the package being sent. The phone will be tested and inspected for quality assurance while in our facilities. This will ensure the fact that your phone will be completely functional with all necessary repairs performed when the handset is shipped from our facilities.

Additionally, if your device is in warranty or you have insurance through your service provider, some providers do offer a replacement policy on phones which need servicing. Hi, thanks for your inquiry. I've already checked the specs of your phone, and I've found out that It will only shows one number in your contact list even though you do have many numbers on that specific contact entry. This is the default for your phone, and there's no option to do what you want to view under your contact list.

A PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code is required to unlock SIM cards that have become locked following three successive incorrect PIN entries. If your SIM card becomes locked, you will need to get a PUK code from the Service Provider to unlock your SIM card.

You can obtain your phone’s PUK code from your service provider by:
• logging in to your myWireless Account online
• calling the Customer Care number.

The phone provides the ability to playback MP3 files, assign them as a contact ringtone, alarm tone or as the incoming call ringtone. The music player supports files with extensions MP3 or MIDI.

To assign an MP3 file as the ringtone follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select My Folder
Select Music (4) then select Music
Highlight the MP3 file, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key for Options
Select Set as
Select Ringtone from the following:
Ringtone
Individual Ringtone
Alarm Tone
Press the left soft key for Yes to assign the MP3 file as the Ringtone

Note: MP3 files larger than 300KB cannot bet set as Ringtones.

For the Samsung sgh-t401g phone it does not have the option to leave or put signature to a text message. Normally you can only edit, or create signature on the messages for phone that are PDA and smart phones. Since the Gravity phone is only a basic phone, it does not have the option to edit signature.

If you want to purchase a new battery for your TracFone, you can cal our Samsung Customer Support Center at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time. But if this the case that you want to have a replacement battery for that, you can call your carrier for this issue because they are the one who handles the warranty term of your handset.

To connect phone to desktop PC, configure first the phone's USB setting as follows :

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings (9)
Select Phone Settings (3)
Select PC Connection (7)
Highlight Mass Storage, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key to Save the PC Connection setting
Exit to standby screen and attach USB Cable
When successfully connected, navigate to the desired file location, within the My_Images or My_Videos folder
Drag and drop or cut and past the files from the phone to the PC

If connection is unsuccessful, kindly try to check the following....

> Try using a different USB port (if using a desktop PC, please try to connect the USB data cable at the back port of the CPU)
> Restart the PC and soft reset the phone (turn off and remove the battery for about a minute and put it back in the phone and turn it on again)
> Make sure that the USB cable is samsung genuine accessory
> Try using a different USB cable
> Try to check the removable storage through the "My Computer"
> Disable or turn off Bluetooth connectivity of the phone

Hi, to connect your SGH-t401g with your Windows Vista PC actually does not need any driver. There is no downloadable driver for this phone. If you want to connect it with your PC to transfer files such as pictures, videos and music, I can show some of the procedures that you can try.
Enter the Message text, using the keypad (up to 1000 characters) then press OK to Save
Press the right soft key for Send To
Either enter a phone number/E-mail address, using the keypad, or press the left soft key for Options
Select the recipient type from the following:
Recent Recipient (1)
Select either Phone Number (1) or E-mail Address (2)
Highlight each phone number or Email address, using the navigation keys
Press the OK key to check the Recent Recipient's box
After selecting all recipients, press the left soft key for Add or Select
Phonebook (2)
Highlight each Contact, using the navigation keys
Press the OK key to check the Contact's box
After selecting all Contacts, press the left soft key for Add
New Recipient (3)
Select either Phone Number (1) or E-mail Address (2)
Enter the Phone Number or E-mail Address the press the left soft key to Add
After selecting all Recipients, press the OK key to send the Multimedia Message to the Recipient(s)
Memory Card
Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the micro SD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a micro SDHC 16GB capacity memory card.
To copy or move a picture to a memory card follow the steps below:
From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select My Folder (7)
Select Images (2)
Select either Photos (2) or Downloaded Images (3)
Highlight the desired picture, using the navigation keys, then press the OK button to View it
Press the left soft key for Options
Select either Move to Memory Card (6) or Copy to Memory Card (7)
Navigate to the desired location on the memory card then press the OK button to open
Press the left soft key for Options

Note: To transfer videos simply select videos rather than images in step 3

Bluetooth FTP
Note: Both Bluetooth devices MUST support Bluetooth FTP (File Transfer Profile)
To transfer (via a Bluetooth adaptor) Photo files, from the TracFone SGH-T401G phone, to a PC follow the steps below:
On the Samsung phone
While in standby mode, turn Bluetooth On
Change the phone’s Bluetooth visibility to on
On the PC
Connect the Bluetooth adaptor to the PC’s USB port
Search for Bluetooth devices
Select the device to pair with the PC
Exchange PIN code(s) on both the PC & phone to pair devices (default pass code is “0000”)
Using My Bluetooth Places, select File Transfer to view the phone’s contents
Copy the desired Photo file
Paste the file in a PC destination
To transfer MP3 files from a memory card follow the steps below:
From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select My Folder (7)
Select Memory Card (6)
Navigate to the location of the MP3 files
Highlight any MP3 file then press the left soft key for Options
Select either Move to (5) or Copy to (6)
Select Phone (1)
Highlight each desired MP3 file then press the OK button to check their boxes
Press the left soft key to Move or Copy the MP3 files to the phone

Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the handset and a personal computer or for using a TracFone handset as a modem for a personal computer. You can call your current service provider because this is a paid service from them. They will just going to connect your phone to their system.

So, I highly suggest that you should call your current service provider for you to ask for a certain software that would coming from them for tethering your device to your computer.
