However, please bear in mind that Samsung does not support 3rd party apps and services with any of our device.

There was no available bluetooth device driver for Vista 64. However if you want to connect your phone to your Vista 64 PC to transfer files.

Here's the information & procedures that i can share with you:

Note: Both Bluetooth devices MUST support Bluetooth FTP (File Transfer Profile)

To transfer (via a Bluetooth adaptor) Photo files, from the SGH-T401G phone, to a PC follow the steps below:

On the Samsung phone

While in standby mode, turn Bluetooth On
Change the phone’s Bluetooth visibility to On
To learn how to Turn On Bluetooth, click here.
For Bluetooth Visibility instructions, click here.
On the PC

Connect the Bluetooth adaptor to the PC’s USB port
Search for Bluetooth devices
Select the device to pair with the PC
Exchange PIN code(s) on both the PC & phone to pair devices (default pass code is “0000”)
Using My Bluetooth Places, select File Transfer to view the phone’s contents
Copy the desired Photo file
Paste the file in a PC destination

How do you transfer files from a PC to the memory card?

The book say's the phone can play MP3 and AAC files. But, before you try, you need a USB Cable and a Micro SD card. I have the cable and a 2GB card. The PC don't have drivers for the phone. I'm using Windows Vista.

Hi!

Regarding your concern, you will need to set the phone to mass storage for it to be recognize by your computer. Here are the steps to configure the handset's USB settings:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings (9)
Select Phone Settings (3)
Select PC Connection (7)
Highlight Mass Storage, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key to Save the PC Connection setting

TIP: Make sure to use an original Samsung cable
(Model: APCBS10UBEB )

As I've double checked the specification of the phone, I just found out that your phone doesn't support synching contacts from MS Outlook. It cannot also transfer contacts from email to phone or using a data cable.

SInce your sgh-t401g is a GSM phone & uses a sim card, it can be use abroad. However your phone is still Network locked with your current Service Provider. To unlock your phone & to use a local sim card from China, you will be needing to contact your Service Provider & have it unlocked.

Card Type / Slot: microSD microSDHC
Max Storage Size: Up To 16 GB
Recommended Storage Size: 2 GB

note: You have to format the memory card prior to first use. Here are the steps how to format the memory card.

There are no drivers needed for the phone to connect it to your PC. The TracFone SGH-T401G has the capability to transfer files directly between a PC and a memory card (residing within the handset) with a compatible USB data cable, using the Mass Storage USB setting.

To configure the handset's USB setting follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings
Select Phone Settings
Select PC Connection
Highlight Mass Storage, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key to Save the PC Connection setting
Exit to standby screen and attach USB Cable
Drag and drop or cut and past the files from the phone to the PC

If connection is unsuccessful, pls try the following….

> Try using a different USB port (if using a desktop PC, please try to connect the USB data cable at the back port of the CPU)
> Restart the PC and soft reset the phone (turn off and remove the battery for about a minute and put it back in the phone and turn it on again)
> Make sure that the USB cable is Samsung genuine accessory
> Try using a different USB cable
> Disable / turn off Bluetooth connectivity of the phone

The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) and PUK2 are used to unlock the PIN and PIN 2 codes respectively if your SIM card is blocked.

if your phone is PUK locked and is asking for a PUK code, contact your service provider to get the PUK code since it's a lock on the simcard and not on the phone.

The phone provides the ability to playback MP3 files, assign them as a contact ringtone, alarm tone or as the incoming call ringtone. The music player supports files with extensions MP3 or MIDI.

To assign an MP3 file as the ringtone follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select My Folder
Select Music (4) then select Music
Highlight the MP3 file, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key for Options
Select Set as
Select Ringtone from the following:
Ringtone
Individual Ringtone
Alarm Tone
Press the left soft key for Yes to assign the MP3 file as the Ringtone

Note: MP3 files larger than 300KB cannot bet set as Ringtones.

Yes you can. Here's the easiest way on how you can transfer files (specifically photos) from phone to your computer. Transferring data from phone to PC using the memory card.

Just follow these steps:

Caution: The plug-in microSD memory card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. Use caution, do not force the card when inserting or removing and keep all memory cards out of reach of children.

Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

To copy or move a picture to a memory card follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for M enu
Select My Folder
Select Images
Select either Photos or Downloaded Images
Highlight the desired picture, using the navigation keys, then press the OK button to View it
Press the left soft key for Options
Select either Move to Memory Card or Copy to Memory Card
Navigate to the desired location on the memory card then press the OK button to Open
Press the left soft key for Options
Select either Move here or Copy here

Note: To transfer videos simply select videos rather than images in step 3

Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the handset and a personal computer or for using a TracFone handset as a modem for a personal computer. You can call your current service provider because this is a paid service from them. They will just going to connect your phone to their system.

So, I highly suggest that you should call your current service provider for you to ask for a certain software that would coming from them for tethering your device to your computer.

Hi, to connect your SGH-t401g with your Windows Vista PC actually does not need any driver. There is no downloadable driver for this phone. If you want to connect it with your PC to transfer files such as pictures, videos and music, I can show some of the procedures that you can try.
Enter the Message text, using the keypad (up to 1000 characters) then press OK to Save
Press the right soft key for Send To
Either enter a phone number/E-mail address, using the keypad, or press the left soft key for Options
Select the recipient type from the following:
Recent Recipient (1)
Select either Phone Number (1) or E-mail Address (2)
Highlight each phone number or Email address, using the navigation keys
Press the OK key to check the Recent Recipient's box
After selecting all recipients, press the left soft key for Add or Select
Phonebook (2)
Highlight each Contact, using the navigation keys

What is the right format for wallpapers?

Default wallpapers fill the screen both vertically and horizontally. No matter what size I try, my own pictures have black all around in horizontal, and are scaled to fit vertically, leaving black bars at top and bottom. How does one fix a JPG so that it fills the screeb like the defaults do?

I need help with my SIM card.

I was in the store and I dropped my phone and picked it back up and put the battery back in, turned it on, and it said insert SIM card. My little while SIM card is still in, but I guess it isn't reading it, and I've tried everything, and I'm really unsure what I may be doing wrong.

You can try another simcard from the store of your Service Provider. If the phone still shows you the same message after trying another simcard, There might be a possibility that the phone is already damaged due to drop.
