Hi, my samsung t401g does not recognize my bluetooth headphone (soyo model BTWLHS02)
The bluetooth headphone does not come up in "my devices" even when I run "search new device" multiple times

You need to call make sure that the Bluetooth Headset is on discoverable mode.
To know how to put the Bluetooth Headset it would be best to call the manufacturer of the Bluetooth deveice so you could know how to put it on discoverable mode.

Question

keypad is not working

I have a Samsung SGH-T401G and I recently dropped it on the ground and both keypads (top/slider) does not work, The only buttens that do work are both side buttens on the slide and the OK butten and also the PWR END butten. also when I dropped it I jammed the picture side butten so its really had to push and also when I push the slide open normally it changes the screen to the formatted fit like it should be but since I have dropped it now it stays the same even when I change it to slide mode . I put a lock on the phone so everythime I turn it on I have to Put my password in, but considering that my keypad is broke (somewhat broken) the keys that I need to type the password do not work. I can call 911 but that isn't really helpful in what I want in the long run. I need some help!!!. I have Straight Talk and the customer service is terrible when it comes to this kind of problem. I have literlly been up and down google trying to figure something out and its not helping in the least. I don't want a too get a new cell phone because of recent un open texts and I have peoples numbers on there. Please help me!!!

Hi, the default passcode would be 0000 or 00000000. If your phone is saying that you need to enter a PUK code you need to contact your Service Provider since PUK is a security setting on your Sim Card.

Why can't I select downloaded ringtone?

When I transfer a musical ringtone to my phone via bluetooth, it shows up in list on the phone, it plays, but the title of ringtone is shaded and will not let me select to set in a contact. I am using mp3, and it is less than 200k. Thanks, James

As I was reading your concern, I understand and concluded that you are trying to setup or assign a downloaded ringtone to a contact. You weren’t able to do it even if you only have 200kb of file size. Well, I can help you out on this concern. And hopefully we can get this done. Actually downloaded ringtone can be assign to a contact, we just need to consider some things. I will also give you the steps on how to do it.
Note: Ringtones are only available for contact entries stored in the handset's memory, not on the SIM card.
Basically, you need to copy contacts to your phone memory to assign a ringtone on it.
To assign a Ringtone to a contact follow the steps below:
1. From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
2. Select Contacts (2)
3. Select Contact List (1)
4. Highlight the desired contact entry, stored in the handset's memory, using the navigation keys
5. Press the left soft key for Options then select Edit (1)
6. Highlight Ringtone, using the navigation keys, then press the OK key for Add
7. Select one of the following Ringtone options:
o Default Mellodies (1)
 Highlight the desired Ringtone, using the navigation keys
 Press the left soft key for Select
o Voice List (2)
 Highlight the desired recorded audio, using the navigation keys
 Press the left soft key for Select
o Sounds (3)
 Highlight the desired Sound, using the navigation keys
 Press the left soft key for Select
o Music (4)
 Highlight the desired Ringtone, using the navigation keys
 Press the left soft key for Select
8. Press the left soft key to Save the Contact settings.

Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the handset and a personal computer or for using a TracFone handset as a modem for a personal computer. You can call your current service provider because this is a paid service from them. They will just going to connect your phone to their system.

So, I highly suggest that you should call your current service provider for you to ask for a certain software that would coming from them for tethering your device to your computer.

To connect phone to desktop PC, configure first the phone's USB setting as follows :

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings (9)
Select Phone Settings (3)
Select PC Connection (7)
Highlight Mass Storage, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key to Save the PC Connection setting
Exit to standby screen and attach USB Cable
When successfully connected, navigate to the desired file location, within the My_Images or My_Videos folder
Drag and drop or cut and past the files from the phone to the PC

If connection is unsuccessful, kindly try to check the following....

> Try using a different USB port (if using a desktop PC, please try to connect the USB data cable at the back port of the CPU)
> Restart the PC and soft reset the phone (turn off and remove the battery for about a minute and put it back in the phone and turn it on again)
> Make sure that the USB cable is samsung genuine accessory
> Try using a different USB cable
> Try to check the removable storage through the "My Computer"
> Disable or turn off Bluetooth connectivity of the phone

A PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code is required to unlock SIM cards that have become locked following three successive incorrect PIN entries. If your SIM card becomes locked, you will need to get a PUK code from the Service Provider to unlock your SIM card.

You can obtain your phone’s PUK code from your service provider by:
• logging in to your myWireless Account online
• calling the Customer Care number.

I highly suggest to transfer your music first into a memory card and from the card, you may transfer them into your phone memory.

To transfer music files from a memory card follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select My Folder
Select Memory Card
Navigate to the location of the audio files
Highlight any music file then press the left soft key for Options
Select either Move to or Copy to
Select Phone
Highlight each desired audio file then press the OK button to check their boxes
Press the left soft key to Move or Copy the music files to the phone

How do I get text messages to automatically save to phone and not to SIM card?

My phone was saving all my messages to the phone until I dropped it and had to replace the battery. Now the phone automatically saves to the SIM card and I have to manually move the messages over to the phone. How do I get my phone back to the way it was? I already tried to reset the phone with no luck.

Hello redearedslider!

There's no way for us to set that thing to your phone. All Samsung phones has this default ssetting. The first 30 messages will go straight to the SIM card that you're using and the other messages will go to the phone's memory after that.

PUK code can only be obtained from your Service Provider. However once you have the PUK code, please make sure to enter it correctly on the phone. If you have entered it incorrectly 3x then it will lead to PUK blocked, meaning that the simcard is already useless or damaged and that you need to replace or purchase a new one.

There are no configurable options available to add a signature to outgoing messages on the TracFone SGH-T401G handset.
