Hi Matt1127.

Thank you for your inquiry. Does your old phone have a sim card? If yes, please copy all your contacts from your old phone to your sim card. After copying your contacts from old phone to sim, remove your sim card, and insert it to your Samsung SGH-T401G.

To copy contacts, from the SIM card, to the phone memory follow the steps below:

1. While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Menu
2. Select Contacts
3. Select Contact List
4. Highlight the desired contact entry, stored in the SIM card, using the navigation keys
5. Press the left soft key for Options
6. Select Copy to Phone
7. Highlight the Phone Type, using the navigation keys then press the left soft key for Select
8. Press the OK key for Save to copy the selected SIM Card Contact to the Phone

This issue is best addressed by calling your service provider as sending and receiving picture messages involves network service.

Please make sure that the service is already activated on the phone. If it is, then have your service provider reconfigure the settings.

Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the handset and a personal computer or for using a TracFone handset as a modem for a personal computer. However, depending on the model, there may be a media card slot located on the side of handset or in the battery compartment that allows information to be transferred to a personal computer with the use of a media card reader. For information on selecting the correct media card reader, please visit the Samsung Accessory website or check with a local computer store to purchase a media card reader compatible with both your computer and the media card type.

Thank you for your correspondence. The "G" icon that you see on this phone is indicates that you are connected to the service providers GPRS network system. However, the only GPS that we support for this phone is the E911, once you call emergency 911 number it will gives information of your exact location on the network servers so that rescue will come quick as possible. For other GPS that you may want to use with this device, you may contact with your service provider for further assistance.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Was the phone is turning off during on the call? Or the phone is turning off by itself? You may double check the battery if it’s on full charge. You may also try doing the soft reset on the phone by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it. If it's still not working and still doing the same thing, you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.

Thank you for your correspondence. PUK means "Pin Unlocking Key"; the phone will ask this question if you entered several times of incorrect PIN code on the phone. Regarding with this issue you may contact your service provider getting the PUK code of the phone.

How do I make wallpapers cover the screen?

Default wallpaper graphics fill the entire screen. Choosing my own photo as wallpaper, it is scaled and has broad borders around it. What do I do to an image so that the phone will display it full screen?

How can I play a music folder?

I am trying to play music from a memory card through bluetooth headphones, but I can't seem to get my phone to play the entire folder. I have to open the folder, select a song, select my BT device, and connect. When the song's over I have to disconnect and repeat the process. How can I get it to play multiple files consecutively?

Have you tried using a different battery on the phone?
How long has it been exposed to water?

We can do minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

If the phone has experienced damage or is out of warranty by date (it was purchased more than one year ago) the standard charge will likely apply for the repairs to your phone. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

How to upload phone directory through bluetooth?

Cell phone T401g. User manual claims it's possible to upload the phone directory but instructions are unclear and things doesn't come-up as stated in the manual. Do I need a special application for my computer or cell phone to achieve this? Note that I was able to transfer files to my cell phone through bluetooth but I can't find how to set the phone contacts. Thanks

Regarding about your concern, for you to send contacts on the SGH-T401G handset, please follow the procedures below:

1. In Idle mode, press Menu ➔ Contacts ➔ Contact List.
2. Choose the desired contact by pressing up and down arrows.
3. Select Options.
4. Choose Send Business Card, and then select Bluetooth.
5. Scan and select the Bluetooth device where you want to send the contact. (Make sure the Bluetooth device is in discoverable mode.)
6. If you are prompted to enter a password for a headset, try 0000 or 1234.

Thank you for your inquiry. PUK means Pin Unlock Key and it is required to unlock Pin when Pin is entered 3-10 times incorrectly.
PUK is saved on the SIM card.

Please contact your service provider to get the PUK.

Note: If you enter the wrong PUK code 10 times in a row, your SIM card will be invalidated, and you will need to purchase a new SIM Card. The phone will display the following error: "PUK blocked call operator."
