Any samsung or 3rd party samesung charger with an S20 Pin will work on this phone. I have a Alltel brand charger for mine. You can find cases on Amazon as well.

Hello there, I would recommend that you purchase an adapter that accommodates house chargers. The way that works is, you plug your wall charger into this car charging device and it will power your device. As for the protective case, I can't be of much help to you however you can purchase protective screens for a universal device and cut it out to couture to your phone's screen. This will keep the screen safe from scratches and blemishes at least.

Hello! You can get an adapter for your cigarette lighter that provides a std AC power plug so you can using the existing charger that came with the phone. I believe there is also a USB charger available and a cigarette lighter adapter with USB ports.

No cord needed really, just buy yourself a MicroSD card with adapter and possibly a card reader for your computer and you can transfer files that way. Really simple.

A subsidy unlock code is needed for you to unlock the phone to use it with a different network provider.

We hold a proprietary licensing agreement with your Service Provider and it would be in violation of this agreement if we give this codes out for you.

Since your phone is exclusively manufactured for a specific provider, you may contact them to ask for these codes.

It is the Service Provider’s discretion to give these codes to you.

Can I download ringtones from my pc to the phone directly?

In our area it is rare to get the connectivity for the browser to work properly although our texts and voice calls work fine. I have two questions. Can we download ringtones directly from our pc to the phone or into the micro sd card and then somehow set them up for use as a ringtone. Also what are the guidelines for creating ringtones ( file type and length )? Thanks for your help!

Hi there!

One option I can give you to get music files for your phone is through the use of memory card. There is no available option to transfer music directly from the computer.

You may put your memory card into a memory card reader and adapter then insert that into the computer for you to transfer files. After you have loaded songs to your memory card then you may try the following steps:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select My Folder
Select Memory Card
Navigate to the location of the MP3 files
Highlight any MP3 file then press the left soft key for Options
Select either Move to or Copy to
Select Phone
Highlight each desired MP3 file then press the OK button to check their boxes
Press the left soft key to Move or Copy the MP3 files to the phone

File Types supported are MP3, MP4/AAC, MP4/AMR, M4A, 3GP/AAC, 3GP/AMR, WMA.

Bit Rate: 320 kbps

File Size : not more than 300 KB

In Phone Lock mode, you can answer calls, but the phone must be unlocked to place outgoing calls (except to emergency numbers). The phone locks automatically the next time it is powered on and stays locked until you enter the correct lock code.

To enable or disable the Phone Lock setting follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Settings (9)
Select Phone Settings (3)
Select Security (8)
Select Lock Phone (1)
Highlight the desired Phone Lock setting, using the navigation keys, from the folllowing:
Enable - The phone locks immediately and stays locked until you enter the correct lock code
Disable - The phone remains unlocked
Press the left soft key for Select to save the Phone Lock setting
Please contact your service provider for more information about any lock features.

If you are having "PIN LOCK" or "PUK LOCK", it's a lock on the simcard and you can ask for assistance with your service provider to help you with the PUK or PIN CODE to unlock it.

If you are using a different network simcard to your phone and it's locked, it requires permission from your current service provider as We hold a proprietary licensing agreement with them.

Good luck on this one. I have no way of changing my time. Tried the way previously answered, but the time and date section only allows you to change from 12 hr to 24 hour. No way to actually change the "time"

Hello!

To change the Time and Date:

From the Home Screen, go to Menu.
Go to Settings.
Go to Phone Settings.
Go to Time and Date.
Set the time and date and save it.

NOTE: the handset uses NITZ (Network Initiated Time Zone) integrated into the phone's software and will automatically update the time and date while inside the TracFone digital network. If you roam outside of the TracFone Service Area, or turn on the handset in an analog roaming area, you will need to set the time manually.

Hello there,

In order to activate the phone and getting the PUK number, you may contact your phone's service provider; for they are the one who is authorize activating the phone. They are going to need the IMEI number of the phone which is located underneath the battery, IMEI number usually starts with number 35.... or 01....and these numbers are on the top of the barcodes.

are parts interchangeable?

can anyone tell me if the Samsung Messenger R450/R451 accessories (cases/face plates) are interchangeable with samsung t401g? i know there are slight differences between the phones, but for the most part they are the same. i cant find any accessories (other than chargers and carrying cases) for my t401g. its extremely frustrating.

The messages you receive on the SGH-T401G phone is saved on the phone memory or SIM card, not on the memory card. If you want to transfer the message into the phone or SIM card memory, follow the steps below.

1. In Idle mode, press Menu -> Messages -> Inbox and press the Select soft key or the Ok key.
2. Select a text message from the list and press the Options soft key.
3. Select “Move to Phone/SIM card” -this option allows you to move the message from the SIM card into the phone memory or from the phone onto the SIM card. Depends on where the current message was saved.

You may have contact your Service Provider which is TracFone for further assistance. You may call up their Customer Care toll free number at 1-800-867-7183.

Question

I can text, go on line fine, but I can not get a strong enough signal to talk using my SGH-T401G. HELP!

Several of my friends have the same phone and service as I do, and they have no problem with reception. I have had this problem since I purchased this phone this winter. Please help me to fix this problem. Thankyou.

Thank you for your correspondence. We're sorry to hear that your having issues using your phone. Try to do a soft reset on your phone.

Soft Reset: Turn of the phone. Remove and put back the battery after a couple of minutes (2-3).

If the soft reset won’t work, for troubleshooting and questions you would be best assisted by calling your service provider's Customer Care.

Tip: We highly advise you to use a different handset, so that they could walk you through checking the phone while on a call.

Can I convert this phone from net 10 service to consumer cellular service?

I have tried installing the sim card from consumer cellular and it does not recognize it. Are there any other steps I need to take?

Question

Why is the color of the 3g symbol different on two identical phones, both are t401g?

I got my phone several months before my wife got hers. She has a red background for the 3g and I have a blue background. My mothers phone sometimes switches between red and blue. Why is the color different and why would it change?

This Phone IS NOT 3G it is 2G that G means that you have GPRS Data connection. a Red G means you have Data a blue G means you dont.

cani change from the netfront browser, it's the worst browser ive ever used on a cell phone

the feature for voice mail only alerts one time and the rest of the time it's a symbol. i need to be notified at least every two to three mins. i have missed several voice mails that were important.

Sorry, Netfront browser is the only way to connect to the internet on this cell phone. The T-401G will run some java compatible browsers, but it will not allow the internet connection. Java applications on this specific phone does not have the capability to use the internet connection, making this phone only suitable for game and miscellaneous applications.

About the voice mail alert, it can be changed by going to Menu, Settings, Sound Settings, Message Tone, Repetition, change from "Once" to "Every 1 min" or "...2 mins".

Speaking that the phone has a strict and basic computing system, I would doubt that applications would be able to added to this device
