Depending on what your setting is, emails will periodically be downloaded automatically. To download at your convenience open the inbox and hit download in the options. Note that emails you have already read will not be downloaded. Also, what is downloaded are just the headers of the email. Once the headers have been downloaded, if you view them, you can retrieve the remainder of the email, by hitting retrieve in that options menu.

Note that if you have a gmail account with many messages in the inbox, you will not be able to read email on the Smiley. Ten messages will download, and thereafter the Smiley will tell you there are no new messages. To fix this problem archive most of your email messages on your gmail account. This is a step which can be undone and which does not interfere with searching etc. Even if you don't undo this step, you will be able to view all messages, by clicking on "All mail".

Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry.

If the phone is asking for a phone lock code as you turn it on, what we can offer as passcodes would be "0000" or"00000000". If these codes will not work, then you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.

At your earliest convenience, please call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Hi jlucchesi7!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Regarding about your concern, upon checking the specifications and settings on the Samsung Smiley (SGH-t359), there is no configurable option to put an album art to show on the media player on the phone.

Depending upon the music file you downloaded on the phone, some come with an album cover. We recommend downloading music files with an album cover to the phone.

You may download an application and themes using your favorite search engine on your computer that is compatible with the SGH-T359 handset. We do not support the use of 3rd party applications and services with any of our devices. For this reason, we do not have information compiled on possible resources.

Again, we thank you for comments and appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Hi tori3angels!

Thank you for your correspondence. There is no configuration on the phone to resize the incoming picture txt messages. It is possible that the phone is nearly out of memory, because it will automatically resize the picture if the phone has insufficient memory so you can still receive the picture message. You may delete some unnecessary files to free up some space. If it's still not working, you may call up your service provider which is T-Mobile and check with them the incoming allowed picture messages on the phone. You can call up their Customer Care toll free number 1-800-937-8997.

Question

My Smiley will not turn off.

When I press and hold the "Hangup" key, the screen goes blank after about 5 seconds, but it does not turn off. Earlier today, an a commercial flight returning to my home in Denver, CO, about 10 minutes before land, it "rang," with a call from a relative. This was very embarrassing as cell-phone use on aircraft is prohibited. How can I geet the unit to switch off?

Hi there.

Thank you for your correspondence. Due to Samsung's policy with repairs, any damage encountered to the phone through water or other liquids can and in most cases will cause corrosion to the inner workings of the handset. In these circumstances, it is no longer feasible to attempt to repair the phone; consequently, the phones received in this condition into our North Texas repair facilities are shipped back to the customer un-repaired. If you have insurance through your service provider please contact them for a possible replacement phone. Also, if you purchased the phone with a credit card most companies offer buyers protection. Contact your Credit Card Company to inquire about this program.
