You CAN connect this phone to your Windows PC with the Samsung USB data transfer/charging cable Model # APCBS10BBE (available here, or from amavon or evay for a few dollars) and New PC Studio (very easy to use).

First, find the Samsung "New_PC_Studio_1.5.1.10064_2" application here for another phone and install it. After installation is complete, connect the cable to the phone and PC and then you can transfer images both ways as well as create/sync your contacts on the PC and load them on to the phone.

Unfortunatly you cannot direct connect this wonderful phone to your computer/laptop. You have to use the Messaging option. Send an E-Mail and attach the pic you want. I hope this helps

Hi, with your sgh-t301g phone there is no need for any accessories to transfer pictures from phone to the computer. The only method to transfer a picture to a PC is to send the picture to an Email address. There are no configurable options available to send a picture from a PC to the phone.
How Do I Transfer Pictures or Videos Between My SGH-T301G Phone And My Computer?
To send a Multimedia Message follow the steps below:

While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Menu
Select Messages (4)
Select Create New Message (1)
Select Multimedia Message (2)
With Subject highlighted, press the OK key
Enter the Subject text, using the keypad (up to 40 characters)
Press the left soft key for Options then select save (1)
Highlight Graphic, using the navigation keys, then press the OK key
Select Add (1) then select from the following:
Take Photo (1)
Adjust the brightness level, using the right and left navigation keys
Zoom in or out, using the up and down navigation keys
Using the display as a viewfinder, press the OK button to take the picture
Press the left soft key to add the Photo to the Multimedia Message
My Photos (2)
Highlight the desired Photo, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key for Options
Select to Add (2) the Photo to the Multimedia Message
Downloaded Graphics (3)
Highlight the desired image, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key for Options
Select to Add (2) the image to the Multimedia Message
Highlight Message, using the navigation keys, then press the OK key
Enter the Message text, using the keypad (up to 1000 characters)
Press the left soft key for Options then Select Save (1)
Press the right soft key for Send To
Either enter an E-mail address, using the keypad, or press the left soft key for Options
Select the recipient type.
Recent Recipient
Select Email
Highlight Email address, using the navigation keys
Press the OK key to check the Recent Recipient's box
Press the left soft key for Options
Select Add (1) or after selecting all recipient’s , press the left soft key for Add or Select.
After selecting all Recipients, press the right soft key to send the Multimedia Message to the Recipient(s)
Tip: You can send a Multimedia Message to up to 10 Recipients

Below is information regarding the various lock codes to enable assessment of which scenario best applies to the situation. Once that is determined, it also outlines the appropriate contact information for resolution.

Phone Lock (User Lock)
Required to enable utilization of the handset, regardless of the Service Provider or SIM Card manufacturer. This feature protects the handset from unauthorized users.
Saved on the Handset
Contact Samsung - Toll Free: 1-888-987-4357

PIN1 (Personal Identification Number 1)
Used to limit access to the SIM.
Saved on the SIM Card
Contact Service Provider: Service Provider Contact Information

PIN2 (Personal Identification Number 2)
Used for special network services like FDN (Fixed Dialing Number) for example.
Saved on the SIM Card
Contact Service Provider: Service Provider Contact Information

PUK1 (Pin Unlock Key 1)
Required to unlock Pin1 when Pin1 is entered 3 times incorrectly
Saved on the SIM Card

The default passcode for the phone is "0000" or "00000000". There is no way that we can retrieve the passcode that was set on the phone.
If the default passcode did not work then we can do a reset on the phone.

To get that annoying stuff ("Tracfone" and the airtime display) off your screen on the Samsung T301G, follow these instructions. Click menu, press "Prepaid", Scroll down to and select "Airtime Display", and then scroll down to "Off", and press select again. That should get rid of the airtime and minute display. For the Tracfone thing at the top of the screen, Choose "Menu" again, go to "Settings", Select "Set Display", Select "Main Display", Scroll down to "Idle Screen Display", Select "Text Position", and press this key (>) until you get to the "Off", and then press save. Question

I bought this cell phone from Tracfone the- t301 series. Does it turn completely off when not in use, or is it on all the time?

Does it have to be turned on to receive calls?? Instructions received were not very clear on above procedure. (My other cell phones, I turn off when not in use (and save battery charge). When I needed to use it, I turned it on. In that regard how does this cell phone operate??????

It needs to be on to receive calls. It stays on until the battery is empty or you turn it off with the pwr-END key.

Here's how to set the time and date on the phone.

If you have the Samsung t301g, Press and hold 1 to call the voicemail. It uses minutes, and they ask you questions regarding your voicemail settings. You can set it up using that depending on if you want to give the caller a greeting or record one to be played to the caller. You also view your voicemail messages by pressing and holding 1 when you've set your voicemail up.

Regarding this, you need to activate the voice mail on your phone so that callers that will be transferred to the voicemail can leave a message.

Phone will not ring on incoming calls. All incoming calls go directly to voice mailbox.

Just activated my NEW "TracFone" Samsung T301G on Thursday (11-11-10). Tried to figure out how to get incoming calls to ring on the phone. All incoming calls go directly to voice mailbox and the phone does NOT ring at all on any incoming calls. Please help. Thank you.

Thank you for your inquiry. Configuring the number of rings before a call goes to voicemail is something which is configured by the Service Provider by editing your account with them. This is not a setting which can be configured on the phone itself as it is part of the network services by your provider. To adjust the Ring Count, we recommend contacting the Service Provider for assistance with this issue.

If your incoming calls are going straight to your voicemail, then you need to contact your service provider so they can configure the number of rings on your phone so that the phone will ring before the call will be transferred to the voicemail. Your service provider can configure it upto 10 rings.

In Idle mode, press the menu key.
Select Settings Then Sound Profile
Highlight the Normal option and press the Edit soft key
Press Right or Left navigation to select the Phone tab
Press Up or Down to select the Volume option
Press the Change soft key
Adjust the volume up or down using Right or left navigation key
Press the OK button and then press the Save.

How can I transfer contacts from my old phone?

I see it has Bluetooth; but it appears to only work with handsfree headsets. Is there any way to connect (with wire or Bluetooth) to copy contacts from a computer or another phone?

There is really no option for us to transfer your contacts via bluetooth on the sgh-t301g. The best way to go around this issue is by the use of SIM card, provided that you are using the same service provider.
