Thank you for your inquiry. Upgrading only the Bluetooth software is not a configurable option. In order to upgrade the Bluetooth software, the whole system firmware must be updated as well. Question

How do I disable the emergency calling feature?

My phone will dial 911 even with the keypad locked. I contacted TracFone and they said that it was a feature enabled by Samsung and they have no solution for it. I have purchased three Samsung s390g phones for myself and my 2 sons. I do not want to have them accidentally dialing 911 while carrying their phones in their backpacks/pockets. If there is no solution to this, I will just have to find another phone and it will definitely not be a Samsung.

Question

Samsung New PC Studio latest download: won't start after install

During installation (tried 3x) comes to error trying to install Adobe flash player, stating that the version being installed is older than the one already installed on my PC. So I click link to install latest version of Adobe Flash Player & during THAT update, it says I have to close IE in order to continue. So I do. Then it KEEPS telling me I need to close IE even after many "retries" it won't work!! So I close it. Then, the New PC Studio FINALLY #long time to install# finishes installing. So, at end of install, asks if I want to launch it. I do. It gives 2 more errors because my USB cable is not plugged into my phone. I plug it in. It loads the drivers for the phone-to-pc usb connection. THEN, I try to launch New PC Studio & get this message: "The application was unable to start correctly #0xc0150002#. Click OK to close the application. So after all this WORK, I get ABSOLUTLY ZERO USE out of all my attempts to use my latest update for my NEW Samsung phone!!! What am I supposed to do now??????

Thanks so much for reaching out for support! The Adobe Flash error you were initially experiencing is something that we are unable to support, and we would certainly suggest contacting the manufacturer of the PC for assistance with that.

As for the hex error you are receiving whilst loading PC Studio: It would appear that you do not have the correct version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redist loaded on the PC to allow the program to function as intended. Please visit Microsoft's web site, and search for "Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2010", and obtain the installer for it appropriate for your operating system. After you have successfully installed it, please reboot the machine, and try again.

Question

Reception problems

Just activated s390g Tracfone two weeks ago. Reception bars fluctuate from 1 bar to none. Wife used my phone (lg800g Tracfone) and tried to call several times on s390 and call went directly to voicemail. Side by side, s390 has 1 or no bars, lg has 4 bars, no matter where I am inside of outside the house. Have dealt with Tracfone for 3 hours and they finally will send new sim card. I don't know if this will solve problem or not. Is it possible that "moderate" 3g coverage (per AT&T coverage viewer) is my problem? When 3g icon is not there and E is on screen, there are 4 bars until 3g icon comes back, then back to 1 to none. Please, any suggestions?

Question

why does this phone automatically dial 911 with the keypad locked?

Friday (3/1/13), my Samsung SGH - S390G dialed 911. I received an emergency call from our Sheriff asking who called & why. I DID NOT MAKE THE CALL. The keypad was locked, the keypad part of the phone was in a leather case, the phone was in my pocket while I was working. I re-read the manual several times trying to determine if there is a “hot key” for 911. Nothing. So, I locked the keypad & tried every key – nothing. Then I searched the web & found many others have had the same problem with this Samsung phone from TracPhone. I am now afraid to use the phone & keep it turned off. How do I stop this phone from making 911 calls?

S390 microSD card compatibility

Hi,

I was wondering whether a microSDHC card will work with the S390, or if ONLY the microSD cards will work with this phone. According to this .pdf (http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201205/20120505022225897/TracFone_S390G_User_Manual_English_UDLB6_F7.pdf) you can [found on page 21]. But according to Tracfone tech support (who probably dont know a thing) said that the microSDHC cards are not compatible.

Any help would be appreciated!

Question

New PC Studio NPSFULL.exe 0xc150002 unable to start correctly.

NPSFull.exe - Application Error
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc150002) is generated.
This was under Windows7. I tried re-installing a fresh Windows, did all the updates, and only added Microsoft Security essentials. Then installed the New PC studio. No errors in the install. No other applications were installed. It starts do you want it to make changes, etc and after answering yes you get this error. Event Log: :Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\Samsung\Samsung New PC Studio\ToolkitPro1331vc80U.dll". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.4053" could not be found.

I can not get Wi-Fi to work on my new Tracfone S390G

I have tried connecting to hotspots as well as trying to connect to a secure wi-fi doesn't matter I get the same Authentication failure message.
I can not even set up a wi-fi connection on my home secure network. I have a d-link 624 router. My laptop works, I have set up wi-fi connections for my Wii and my old phone. I have had this S390G for 3 weeks now! I can not get pass the step in the set up to enter my network password (my password is too long and the S390G has a limited amount of keystrokes allowed to enter the password. Help what am I doing wrong? I have not changed any settings such as Bearer Type, SSID, Authent type, Encryption Type...Do I need to enter a Proxy Address (I believe I don't have to do that secure or not secure site) Help Please! I know just enough about all this to be dangerous! lol

My phone is pocket dialing various emergency numbers, like 112, even though it is locked.

The only way I know this happens is when 911 calls the phone back because it was a hang up. I didn't even know there were various three digit emergency numbers that can be dialed from a cell phone. How is this happening in my purse or pocket while locked?

If you are driving around with your phone and have the Wi-Fi on you will get a list of hotspots make sure the wi-fi is not on and when you do turn it on select options & click on refresh. If you do not have any hotspots when you turn on wi-fi your list of names will be blank. If it is a secure network and you do not want to use that secure network again you click on that name then select options and click on delete.
