Question

Battery Hot and will not continue charging

While charging my battery using the adapter that came with my galaxy note, I heard a beep and indicated that it stopped charging since batter was hot. True enought the back of the note was very hot. It went up to only a 70% charge.

Question

Voice Talk is not working on Wifi network but working on Mobile Data. How do I fix this?

When I try using Voice Talk (similar to S Voice; however, S Voice did not install on the Note after the update to 4.0) it doesn't work over the Wifi network, but, it works over the Mobile Data and works perfectly with this type of network; however, over the Wifi it says it cannot connect to the server and ask to check for the connection.

Likely your routers firewall will need a little tuning to resolve the issue, the ports that the software requires will need to be opened, or that would be a good place to start. You would need to know the ports and protocols the software requires, as well as the user manual for the router you utilize to perform the task.

Sorry you are having problems. Let's first try a soft reset. Remove battery > Wait 2 Mins > Replace battery > Reboot your device. If this isn't helping, I suggest trying resetting your wifi router or trying other networks to make certain it isn't an issue with the particular network you mentioned. If you are referring to a 3rd party Voice-to-talk application, the best person to reach out to for detailed troubleshooting would be the app developer.

all phones have a 1 year standard warranty just call samsung and provide your serial number IMEI or MEID and they can tell you if you're still on the 1 year coverage since you purchased your phone.

You are going to hate this answer. I looked at this for conact uploads and it can only be done by exporting out of outlook as a csv file. Then upload to google and sync with the phone. Not a great solution but with 900 contacts it worked for me.

Charging time depends on the current battery percentage when your Note is plugged into the charger. At 40% mine takes a few hours to fully charge. The battery in the Note is larger than most and the plug-in charger supplies the standard amount of current. This phone should take longer to charge than your previous phone.

Battery life durations specified on our products are tested in our labs under multiple different conditions and the talk and standby times are a realistic average maximum dependent on customer usage variables.
Battery power consumption depends on a number of factors, such as network configuration, signal strength, operating temperature, features selected, frequency of calls, and voice, data, and other application usage patterns.
Some variables that may affect battery life are:
• Backlight settings set to always on or a long amount of time
• Ring tone settings set to higher volume settings
• Vibrate settings turned on
• Using Internet Services including Text Messaging
• Making and/or Receiving calls in, or simply standing by in, an analog service area
• If you tend to be in a "weak" coverage area where your signal strength meter shows only 1 to 2 bars
• Using non-SAMSUNG charging accessories can cause battery life and other issues, as well as void the manufacturer’s limited warranty.

If the battery is not holding a charge it may mean that it is not charging properly. Make certain that the charger cable is properly plugged in. It is also possible that the battery may be damaged. If you suspect that it may be, or should this issue continue to occur, please feel free to call us here at Samsung Technical Support at 1-888-987-4357.

There are quite a few good apps for business. Not sure what type of business you are in but here are a few that I use, 2X client to remote into other computers on my internal network. Box.net to transfer files to multiple devices via the internet. Astro file manager to view all files/ folders on my phone. Free Active Directory app that allows me to view and manage all users/computers in my companies Microsoft Active Directory. Keep Track Pro is great for creating/ maintaining on the go stats charts. QuickOffice to view/edit all MS Office files. SplashTop remote desktop to connect to any pc's that have the splashtop streamer installed via the internet. IMO which is an instant messaging client that can host all your IM accounts in on account like Yahoo, AIM, Facebook.

Charger barely keeps up?

When I am using Google Navigation the charger barely keeps up! Is it safe to use a 1.2ma car charger instead of the 1.ma charger that comes with the phone?

Once you have your destination set and begin moving you can push the sleep button on side. The navigator will still talk and then if you need you can press it again to see the screen as needed. If running Juice Defender or another app be sure to enable it for screen off.

dude the ics update sent my phone back to the stone ages. it has less than half the battery power it had before, its wayyyyy slower loading and i dont receive some text messages and phone calls and only get texts if i restart the phone. i went from loving this thing to absolutely hating it overnight literally. yes the update gave some cool new features and changed the look but there are so many new bugs and i would gladly give all of that up and go back.

You can try getting your device quickly reflashed at a ATT Device Support Center (not an att retail store). That might revert your OS. You can also have your device reflashed by us, however, you will need to send in your device.

How can I get help connecting my Note to my computer?

I've been trying for weeks to get my computer to recognize my Samsung Galaxy Note and did actually connect once but that was it. I just tried to connect with Chat Support, it asked me the first two questions then the page just hung there. I'm just not having any luck...

the usb debugging mode should have a checkmark then connect it to your pc using the genuine usb cable. make sure the cable is not moved once it's connected, meaning to say make sure the devices are placed on a table.

try powercycling the phone and also softreset by taking out the battery for 5 seconds then put it back in. if issue still persists go back to where you bought the phone and have it replaced. =)

Back up any data that you have accumulated using Kies then try in order of escalation:

1) Clear cache and data for the camera app
2) Reformat your SD card or Replace it.
3) Master Reset the device.
4) Consider Device Replacement.
