Question

How do I connect my Blackjack to my PC?

Hi! I have a Blackjack that's a few years old, and I have a different laptop than I had when we first purchased the product. When I plug the Blackjack into the PC with the USB cable, the PC recognizes it as new hardware, but can't read/open it. Is there some driver or software I need to install for my PC to be able to view it?

Thanks in advance for your help with this.

Question

I need a windows driver (I think) for my Blackjack II

When I try to sync my phone, I am getting the error usb unrecognized device on my system and active sync will not work. I have read the forumns and help list here, at Microsoft and elsewhere on the Internet.
All say to turn off the firewalls and antivirus s/w. I have done this in the services section on my machine and still it is not recognized. I lost my original CD. How can I get a driver for XP so this Blackjack II is recognized? Do you have any other suggestions for fixing this issue. HI Ericengquist,

Thank you for your inquiry.

For you to transfer files between the Samsung Blackjack II™ Smartphone (SGH-I617) and a computer, you need to download and install the driver compatible with your computer which is the ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center, and a compatible USB data cable.

Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=46f72df1-e46a-4a5f-a791-09f07aaa1914

Active Sync:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=9e641c34-6f7f-404d-a04b-dc09f8141141

To transfer music using Active Sync follow the steps below:
1. Use the USB cable to connect both the handset & the target PC. When an active connection has been established, the Smartphone Sync Setup wizard will pop up on your PC's display.
2. Click Next to setup a sync relationship between the SGH-i607 & PC.
3. Enter a Name for your PC then click Next.
4. Click to check the desired sync option boxes (Do Not check Media box).
5. Click on Next then click on Finish to complete the Smartphone Sync Setup wizard.
6. Once the USB connection has been established, Microsoft ActiveSync displays "Connected".
7. Press the Explore button, on the ActiveSync toolbar, to open the handset's file directory.
8. Now you can copy files, Drag n Drop or Copy & Paste, from the PC to the handset, or vice versa.

Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.
