Why does my Rugby Pro keep restarting?

In the first month I have owned my phone it has re-booted at least 10 times. Every time the phone has re-booted I have not been touching any buttons. This started shortly after I purchased the phone and I first chalked it up to updates.

This problem has continued with re-booting 3 times in the last 2 days.

Samsung is telling me I have to send the phone back to them so they can look at it.

Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that your phone, SGH-I547 keeps restarting and we do apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused you.

You may try performing a soft reset on the phone as a basic troubleshooting step to fix it, by taking out the battery for at least 15-30 seconds, then put the battery back in again and turn it back on to refresh the software.

You may also check if your phone is fully charged.

Please check the information listed below for the charging time for your phone.

Initial charging time: 6-8 hours
Regular Charging time:2-4 hours

Please make sure that you are using a Samsung genuine charger and battery.

You may also drop by at your service provider's corporate store to try using a different battery or charger to check if it would work.

If any of these won't work, you may try performing a Factory Data Reset on your phone.

You may use the link provided below for steps on how to perform Factory Data Reset on your phone.

Question

Docking my cell phone

I just got in the Samsung multi-media dock but I can't get my Rugby Pro to plug in even if the website said its capable with my cell phone. I thank its the little port cover tab getting in my way. Is there a way to temperay remove this tab?

If the soft reset won't work, we recommend you to contact your Service Provider to check if there's a network issue or outage in your location, as they can provide you available options to fix network connection on your phone in a timelier manner.

Swype not working in calendar

Hi Samsung,

We like our new rugby pro phones. However, we have noticed the swype feature doesn't work in the calendar app and we can't figure out any reason why, it has the same keyboard settings as any other app.

Is it a bug?

Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that Swype is not working on the calendar of your phone, SGH-I547 and we do apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused you.

You may try performing a soft reset on the phone as a basic troubleshooting step to fix it, by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds, then put the battery back in again and turn it back on to refresh the software.

If the soft reset won't work, you may try to reset Swype on your phone.

1. From the home screen, tap on Menu Key, tap on Settings, tap on Manage Applications, tap on All, scroll and look for the application Swype and tap on reset or clear data.

Question

How do I turn off the "page one of X" when swiping between home screen pages?

Ever since ATT updated me to Jelly Bean, my phone "talks" to me ONLY when going between pages on the home screen. "Page one of six", "page two of six", etc... I've found that if I turn the volume down on media, it goes away, but then I cannot listen to tunes.

It does not seem to be "Talk Back" as that is off.

Both my girl and a coworker have then same phone, and neither of theirs do this. I've looked through darn near ALL the possible settings and cannot find where I turn this off. Am I just 'special'?

Double check your router's settings - password, device limit, security settings, firewall, etc.

Try putting in the information for the Wi-Fi but put a incorrect password and try connecting. Once that fails, put in the correct password and try again.
