PUK means Pin Unlock Key and it is required to unlock Pincode when Pincode is entered 3-10 times incorrectly. PUK is saved on the simcard.

Please contact your service provider to get the PUK code.

Important: In order to transfer pictures (via Windows Explorer & a USB cable) to a PC the pictures MUST be located on a formatted microSD Memory Card. The microSD memory card must first be formatted, by the phone, in order for the handset to create the destination folders.

To transfer Picture/Video files, using Windows Explorer & a USB cable, between the phone and a PC follow the steps below:

1. From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either Mass Storage or Ask on Connection.

To configure the handset's USB setting follow the steps below:

>From the standby screen, press Menu
>Press Settings
>Press Connectivity
>Press Select USB Mode
>Press the desired USB Setting from the following:
**Ask on Connection
**Samsung PC Studio
**Media Player
**Mass Storage
>Press Save to keep the USB Mode setting

Note: The Bluetooth feature must first be disabled before initiating a USB connection with the handset.

2. Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot
>When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top of the display

3. If prompted, Select the Mass Storage USB setting

4. If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually

5. Navigate to the picture/video file location on the memory card or PC

6. Drag n Drop or copy & paste the picture/video file into the desired destination on the PC or the Pictures or Videos folders on the handset

The only traditional speed dial number that functions is number 1 for voicemail. Press on Dial then press and hold down the number 1 key to check your voicemail. However, within the widget bar is a widget called Top Five (Speed Dial) which allows you to quickly place calls to the top five of the contact entries in the Contact Favorites list. In addition, once you have stored phone numbers in the Address Book, you can also add them to your Contact Favorites list for quick dialing.

Note: If the Contact has multiple phone numbers, the default number is called

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To add contacts to the contact favorites list follow the steps below:

1.From the standby screen, press Contacts
2.Press the Contacts drop down arrow, located in the top right corner, then press Favorites
3.Press Add then press the desired Contact
4.Continue step 3 until all Contact Favorites have been added
Note: If the Contact has multiple phone numbers, the default number is called

Note: The Top Five Contact Favorites (Speed Dial) must be an active widget

To speed dial the Top Five Contact Favorites follow the steps below:

1.From the standby screen, open the widget bar
2.Drag the Top Five (Speed Dial) widget to the display screen
3.Press on the Contact to move it to the center of the Top Five
4.Press the Contact to place the call
Tip: Drag the Top Five favorites widget to the display screen for quicker dialing (For instructions click here)

Note: If the Contact has multiple phone numbers, the default number is called

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To quickly place calls to your Contact Favorites follow the steps below:

1.From the standby screen, press Contacts
2.Press the Contacts drop down arrow, located in the top right corner, then press Favorites
3.Press green phone icon to the right of the desired Contact to place the call
Note: If the Contact has multiple phone numbers, the default number is called

On our end, there are no configurable options to transfer or back up contacts to your computer. The SGH-a877 (Impression) handset can only transfer contacts via SIM card. However, you may also try to contact your Service Provider if there’s an option for wireless back up.

Hi!

The easiest way to transfer music files to your pc is via memory card?

To transfer (Via a memory card) MP3 files, from a PC, to the Samsung phone follow the steps below:

In order to use this option, the microSD memory card must be formatted by the phone to create the necessary folders. For instructions on how to format a microSD memory card, click here.

Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This handset does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card. However, for optimal performance Samsung recommends using a card no larger than 2GB.

On the PC

Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor
Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader
Connect the memory card reader to the PC’s USB port
Copy desired MP3 files from the PC hard drive
Paste the MP3 files into the microSD memory card's Music or Tones folder
Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card adaptor
On the Samsung phone

While in standby mode, insert the microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located on the right side under the battery cover
Press Menu
Press My Stuff
Press the drop down arrow then press Memory Card
Press Audio
Press either the Music or Tones folder
Press Manage
Press either Move or Copy
Press each MP3 file to check their boxes or press All to check all boxes
Press either Move or Copy
Press Phone
Press the Audio folder
Press either the Tones or Music folder
Press Paste Here to Move or Copy the MP3 file(s) to the handset
To transfer MP3 files from the phone to a PC follow the instructions for copying pictures/videos to a memory card, substituting MP3 file, audio and music for picures/videos, click here for instructions.

Note: Audio files less than 300 KB are treated as ringtones, whereas audio files which are greater than 300 KB are stored in the Music Folder. You can not set an MP3 file as a ringtone if it is larger than 300 KB.

Thank you for writing us!

Sync issues with Outlook

I had to have my work pc re-imaged and the newer version of NPS doesn't sync with outlook like one I had previously. I think I may have had to install NPS for a different model to use the sync but don't recall which one but think it was the eternity or NPS ver 1.3.
