The Warranty of the phone under Samsung is one year starting from the date of purchased.

We can do minimal troubleshooting to your phone. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

Question

I can no longer find the number from a caller whose message went to voice mail.

When I miss a call and it goes to Voicemail, I can't find the number of the person who called me, but I'd like to. It says "voicemail" in the recent calls category. I thought I used to be able to find the number of the call I missed, so I wonder if there is a setting I can change.

Hi MsGreta,

Thank you for your correspondence. If the screen of your phone is no longer working you may try to use another handset nd insert your simcard to check available message that you may receive through your number.

If the phone has physical damage and you would like to have it repaired, you may still send it in for touchscreen replacement.

However, a standard charge will likely apply for the repair of your phone. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

We invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357) for further information.

Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. The SGH-A877 (Impression) handset provides the ability to playback MP3 files, assign them as a contact ringtone, alarm tone or as the incoming call ringtone. The handset supports the following audio file types as ringtones: MP3, MP4 / AAC, M4A, 3GP / AAC, WMA and 3GP / AMR.

Note: Audio files less than 300 KB are treated as ringtones, whereas audio files which are greater than 300 KB are considered as Music. You cannot set an MP3 file as a ringtone if it is larger than 300 KB.

You can also purchase a variety of multimedia files, such as ringtones, graphics, applications, multimedia contents, and so on from the WAP browser and download them to your phone’s memory. The phone has embedded links to the WAP sites providing you with download services, preset by your service provider.

Please Note: The Music Player does not necessarily support all features of a particular file format nor all the variations of those formats. The Music Player includes support for Digital rights Management (DRM) which allows you to play some purchased or subscription content. Copyright protections may prevent some images, videos, music (including ringtones) and other content from being copied, modified, transferred or forwarded.

To assign an MP3 file as the call ringtone, caller ringtone or alarm tone follow the steps below:

1. From the standby screen, press Menu
2. Press My Stuff
3. Press Audio
4. Press either Tones or Music, to view the contents
5. Press the desired MP3 file to play it
6. Press Set as
7. Press one of the following:
> Call Ringtone: To set the MP3 as the current profile's Ringtone
> Caller Ringtone
*Press Search Contact
*Press the desired Contact
*Press Save to assign the MP3 file as the *Caller Ringtone
> Alarm Tone
*Press the desired Alarm
*Press on Save to assign the MP3 file as the Alarm Tone

Greetings!

Upon checking the phone’s information, when the phone is on a horizontal mode and you suddenly tilt or slide the mobile, the slideshow mechanism will be showing it will automatically be sliding the pictures on the phone. That mechanism is a default setting on the phone and we do not have any configurable settings to change it, except to hold the phone still while you want to vie it.

Question

My touchscreen sometimes won't work and the calibration at the bottom of the screen is off. How do I fix this?

I have tried to recalibrate the phone, but when it comes to the bottom of the screen, it won't let me tap the center of the x. It is only off vertically. I have to go just below the bottom of the grey shaded part around the red x before it accepts that it has been tapped. And at times, my touch screen won't activate at all. I have turned it off and on but am afraid to do that much more because if the touch screen won't work, then I can't unlock my phone.

Hi!

Your Samsung Impression SGH-A877 phone does not have the configurable option to print out text messages.

However, your phone carries the Basic Printing Profile wherein you can print out media files with a printer via bluetooth.

Thanks for asking.

The Serial Number can be found from the back of the phone on the label beneath the battery. The Serial Number is the IMEI number on the back of the phone.

The IMEI is the numeric code that is 15 characters long. (For at&t, T-Mobile, and GSM TracFone, Net10, and StraightTalk handsets, as well as generic GSM handsets)

The IMEI number starts with 35 or 01.
