You can calibrate the screen of the phone by doing the following:

From the Home screen, select Menu
Select Settings
Select Phone
Select Calibration

You may try doing the soft reset on the phone by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it. There is a downloadable Mobile Email feature on the phone, located in the messaging menu. This application provides, with certain e-mail services, the opportunity to receive "new mail" alerts with shortcut access to your inbox to read, delete, and respond to your e-mail as if you were on a computer.

For assistance with the use of Mobile Email services please contact your service provider.

software problem with SGHA867 cell phone

The phone gets in a loop when started. It starts and immediately shuts down and restarts. Is this an easy fix? Where can I have it repaired if possible? What is the cost of repair? Thanks in advance on this matter.

Hi there!

If you intend to use the phone overseas, you have to coordinate with your service provider and get the subsidy code (network control key) that would allow you to unlock the phone from their network.

It's the discretion of the network provider to provide this code and we highly recommend that you call them so you can get details regarding this matter.

If the phone has a "Phone lock" and it's asking for a passcode, use "0000” or “00000000” as a default passcode.

Are you using the same original battery and charger on the phone? Is there any physical damage? Has the phone been exposed to liquid?

Try to do a soft reset on the phone by powering it off and removing the battery then placing it back again to reboot the handset.

Well I have some contacts on my phone that are saved to my phone and others are saved to both my sim card and phone. Well the question is how do I save the contacts that are only saved to my phone to my sim card too?

grouping contacts

I upgraded my phone and the verizon store uploaded all my contacts to Google. Then They downloaded my contacts to my new phone. But i need to create a group contact. but it wont let me unless they are stored onto my phone. Please help me out.

The contacts should be saved on the phone memory for you to be able to create or add contacts to a group. Moreover, there will be no configurable option to add Google contacts to a group.

Regarding your concern, if the phone is lock and it asks for a pass code, what we can offer for the phone would be the default password which could be either "0000" or "00000000".

Regarding about your concern, for you to transfer contacts from your Samsung Eternity® Touch screen Cell Phone (SGH-A867) to your outlook on your desktop computer, it would require you to have USB data cable, with part number: APCBS10UBEBSTD and also download on your computer the driver for the phone, which is the Samsung New PC Studio.

For you to download the Samsung New PC Studio on your computer:
1. Deactivate the antivirus and firewall on your computer.
2. Open the web browser and then log on to this link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportDownloadCenter.do?prd_ia_cd=N0000003&prd_mdl_cd=SGH-A867ZKAATT&prd_mdl_name=SGH-A867

3. Click on the software tab and then download the compatible driver for the type of OS on your computer.
4. Save the driver on your desktop.
5. Once download is complete, double click on the EXE file and click on Run.
6. Follow the procedure to install it.

For you to connect the phone to your computer, please follow the procedures on this link below.

Thank you for your inquiry. Regarding your concern, try to do a soft reset on your phone before connecting it to your computer and restart the computer.

Soft Reset: Turn of the phone. Remove and put back the battery after a couple of minutes (2-3).

If you wish to transfer your picture or video files from your computer to your Samsung Eternity II phone using any of the 2 methods that we have provided you below.

Via Windows Explorer (Mass Storage)

Note: If the Bluetooth feature is currently active on the phone, USB communication between devices will not be available. To transfer files to or from the phone, turn off the Bluetooth functionality or click here for instructions.

WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT USB DATA CABLE DURING THE FILE TRANSFER

Important: In order to transfer pictures/videos (via Windows Explorer & a USB cable) to a PC the pictures MUST be located on a formatted microSD Memory Card. The microSD memory card must first be formatted, by the phone, in order for the handset to create the destination folders.

To transfer Picture/Video files, using Windows Explorer & a USB cable, between the phone and a PC follow the steps below:

1. From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either Mass Storage or Ask on Connection
2. Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot
* When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top of the display
3. If prompted, Select the Mass Storage USB setting
4. If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually.
5. Navigate to the picture/video file location on the memory card or PC
6. Drag n Drop or copy & paste the picture/video file into the desired destination on the PC or the Pictures or Videos folders on the handset.

Via Memory Card

To transfer pictures.videos (via a memory card) to a PC requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The microSD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the phone, in order for the phone to create the destination folders. Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB.

To transfer pictures/videos (via a memory card), from the SGH-A597 (Eternity II) phone, to a PC follow the steps below:

Insert the formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located under the battery cover.

1. When correctly inserted, the memory card icon is displayed.
2. From the standby screen, press Menu.
3. Press My Stuff
4. Press Pictures or Videos to view the contents.
5. Press Manage
6. Press either Move or Copy
7. Press each image to check their box or press All to check All boxes.
8. Press either Move or Copy
9. Press Memory Card
10. Press either Pictures or Videos.
11. Press either Move here or Paste here to Move or Copy the Photo(s)/Video(s) to the microSD memory card.
12. Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card slot.
13. Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor.
14. Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader.
15. Insert the memory card reader into the USB slot on the PC.
16. Navigate to the desired Photo/Video destination location, using Windows Explorer, then paste the Photo(s)/Video(s) into the destination on the PC.

Most issues like this may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the handset, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

At your earliest convenience, please call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Our repair facility will have the phone roughly 5-10 days from the time that it is received. Some dealer locations may offer a loaner phone program while your handset is in repair. While Samsung cannot control the availability of these products or programs in your area, please contact your local provider or dealer if you are in need of a phone, to find out if they are a participating member of this program. If you have any questions regarding this process, please ask the Service Representative at the time of your call.

Additionally, if your device is in warranty or you have insurance through your service provider, some providers do offer a replacement policy on phones which need servicing. In some cases, they may send out a replacement phone and the phone that you are having issues with will be sent back to them in return. For more details on a possible exchange, please contact your Service Provider.
