Hi mauricehh,

Thank you for your inquiry. Regarding your concern, try to do a soft reset on your phone before connecting it to your computer and restart the computer.

Soft Reset: Turn of the phone. Remove and put back the battery after a couple of minutes (2-3).

If you wish to transfer your picture or video files from your computer to your Samsung Eternity II phone using any of the 2 methods that we have provided you below.

Via Windows Explorer (Mass Storage)

Note: If the Bluetooth feature is currently active on the phone, USB communication between devices will not be available. To transfer files to or from the phone, turn off the Bluetooth functionality or click here for instructions.

WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT USB DATA CABLE DURING THE FILE TRANSFER

Important: In order to transfer pictures/videos (via Windows Explorer & a USB cable) to a PC the pictures MUST be located on a formatted microSD Memory Card. The microSD memory card must first be formatted, by the phone, in order for the handset to create the destination folders.

To transfer Picture/Video files, using Windows Explorer & a USB cable, between the phone and a PC follow the steps below:

1. From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either Mass Storage or Ask on Connection
2. Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot
* When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top of the display
3. If prompted, Select the Mass Storage USB setting
4. If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually.
5. Navigate to the picture/video file location on the memory card or PC
6. Drag n Drop or copy & paste the picture/video file into the desired destination on the PC or the Pictures or Videos folders on the handset.

Via Memory Card

To transfer pictures.videos (via a memory card) to a PC requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The microSD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the phone, in order for the phone to create the destination folders. Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB.

To transfer pictures/videos (via a memory card), from the SGH-A597 (Eternity II) phone, to a PC follow the steps below:

Insert the formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located under the battery cover.

1. When correctly inserted, the memory card icon is displayed.
2. From the standby screen, press Menu.
3. Press My Stuff
4. Press Pictures or Videos to view the contents.
5. Press Manage
6. Press either Move or Copy
7. Press each image to check their box or press All to check All boxes.
8. Press either Move or Copy
9. Press Memory Card
10. Press either Pictures or Videos.
11. Press either Move here or Paste here to Move or Copy the Photo(s)/Video(s) to the microSD memory card.
12. Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card slot.
13. Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor.
14. Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader.
15. Insert the memory card reader into the USB slot on the PC.
16. Navigate to the desired Photo/Video destination location, using Windows Explorer, then paste the Photo(s)/Video(s) into the destination on the PC.

If the phone has a "Phone lock" and it's asking for a passcode, use 0000 or 00000000 as the default passcode.

If you are having "PIN LOCK" or "PUK LOCK", it's a lock on the simcard and you can ask for assistance with your service provider to help you with the PUK or PIN CODE to unlock it.

If the phone has a "Phone lock" and it's asking for a passcode, use "0000” or “00000000” as a default passcode.

Thank you for your inquiry.

For you to connect the phone to the PC and transfer information, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a compatible data cable. You also need to download on your computer the driver for the Samsung Eternity® Touchscreen Cell Phone (SGH-A867), which is the Samsung New PC Studio.

For you to download the Samsung New PC Studio on your computer:
1. Deactivate the antivirus and firewall on your computer.
2. Open the web browser and then log on to this link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportDownloadCenter.do?prd_ia_cd=N0000003&prd_mdl_cd=SGH-A597ZBAATT&prd_mdl_name=SGH-A867

3. Click on the software tab and then download the compatible driver for the type of OS on your computer.
4. Save the driver on your desktop.
5. Once download is complete, double click on the EXE file and click on Run.
6. Follow the procedure to install it.

For you to connect the phone to your computer and transfer music files, please follow the procedures below:
1. From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either PC Studio or Ask on Connection.
Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Select USB Mode > Ask on Connection or Samsung PC Studio > Save
2. Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Headset jack/Adapter jack & the PC's USB slot.
• When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top of the display
3. If prompted, select the PC Studio USB setting.
• The New Samsung PC Studio program will automatically appear on the PC
4. Click on the SGH-A867 icon, located in the upper right corner, to open a box showing the handset's internal memory.
5. Double click on the Audio folder then double click on the Music folder.
6. Click on the My Computer icon, located in the upper left corner, to open a box showing the PC's internal memory.
7. Navigate to the PC's music file location, or destination.
8. Drag and Drop or Copy (or Cut) and Paste the picture files between the My Computer box and the SGH-A867 box or vice versa.
9. After the successful transfer of the picture file(s), click on OK in the Device Explorer or My Computer box.
10. Now it is safe to disconnect the USB data cable from the two devices.

Tips:
• Make sure the USB data cable is compatible with your phone model. You can always check for the correct data cable by looking at the model number on http://www.samsungwireless.com in your phone's accessories section.
• Remember to select file formats and file sizes supported by the phone when uploading files to the phone from the PC.

How do I fix media pages with picture larger than text

When I go to certain media pages the pictures are overly large and the text is normal. I'm trying to figure out how to get it adjusted so that it all fits into the same page. When I was on it the other day, a menu came up and I'm trying to get that menu to come back up but can't. Thanks for any help!

Regarding about your concern, we recommend enabling first the Orientation feature on the Samsung Eternity® Touchscreen Cell Phone (SGH-A867).

Once this feature is enabled, when you turn the phone sideways, display on the screen will be in landscape mode. When you open the browser on the SGH-A867, Web toolbar will display when you turn the phone sideways.

Touch on the Magnify icon to launch the magnification slider that allows you to zoom a web page either in or out.

Has the phone been exposed to any form of water or moisture?

I go to the software update application and it doesn't give me an option to do anything even after waiting several minutes.

Regarding about your concern, as of the moment, Samsung is unable to speculate when/if the software might be available for the Samsung Eternity® Touchscreen Cell Phone (SGH-A867) handset due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.

The reason why nothing is happening when you try to update the software of the phone is because there is no software update available.

Should this become available, it will be posted on our website in the Samsung Download Center or you will be informed by your Service Provider.

Hi captbains!

Thank you for your correspondence. By default the GPS on the phone is design for U.S. service provider's networks. We can't assure you that the GPS will work on other country. However, you may have to contact your service provider on New Zealand to synchronize their GPS networks to the phone.

Thank you for your correspondence. It is possible that the hands free headset is use for calls only and it will not work on streaming music. However, if the hands-free is also not working on calls. You may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.
