Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. If you reach the maximum level of the volume on your Samsung Rugby (SGH-A837), there's no configurable option for you to set higher than that. It's a default on the phone.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this presents.

Question

Is there anyway to get this Phone Model SGH-A837 without a front screan?? I have broken 3 front screans

I love the phone but for a construction grade phone the front screan is hard to see outside in the sun and is easy to break. I am on my 4th SGH-A837 and I would pay more for one without the front screan to prevent the damage.

Hi tdj95225,

We can do minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

If the phone has experienced damage or is out of warranty by date (it was purchased more than one year ago) the standard charge will likely apply for the repairs to your phone. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

Tip: Just in case you need to contact us about your phone issue, we highly advise you to use a different handset, so that we could walk you through checking the phone while on a call.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this presents. Have a good day.

Hi hunter61!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, upon checking the specifications and settings on the Samsung Rugby® Cell Phone (SGH-A837), there are no configurable options to delete words added in predictive text in T9 mode. Even if we try to perform a factory reset on the phone, the words were still included in predictive text.

Again, we thank you for comments and appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Hi LaurieD!

Thank you for your inquiry.

For you to connect the SGH-A837 handset to the computer so that you can transfer the pictures, it would require you to have the USB data cable and the driver for the SGH-A837 handset, which is the Samsung New PC Studio.

For you to download the Samsung New PC Studio on your computer:
1. Deactivate the antivirus and firewall on your computer.
2. Open the web browser and then log on to this link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportDownloadCenter.do?prd_ia_cd=N0000003&prd_mdl_cd=SGH-A837DKAATT&prd_mdl_name=SGH-A837

3. Click on the software tab and then download the compatible driver for the type of OS on your computer.
4. Save the driver on your desktop.
5. Once download is complete, double click on the EXE file and click on Run.
6. Follow the procedure to install it.

For you to connect the phone to your computer and transfer pictures, follow the procedures on this link below.
1. From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either PC Studio or Ask on Connection.

Menu > Settings > Select USB Mode > Ask on Connection or Mass Storage > Save

2. Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Headset jack/Adapter jack & the PC's USB slot.
3. When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top right of the display.
4. If prompted, select the PC Studio USB setting.
5. Open the Samsung PC Studio 3 program on the PC.
6. Click on Phone Explorer (Manage Files).
7. From the Phone Explorer screen, click on the Graphics folder.
8. Click on the Photo file (For multiple files hold down the Ctrl key) then click on To PC.
9. From the Browse for Folder screen, click on the destination location.
10. Click OK to transfer the Photo file from the SGH-A837 (Rugby) phone to the PC.

Note: Make sure that Bluetooth is disabled and the phone is in idle mode.

Should you desire additional assistance connecting the phone to the computer, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Hi jaysc,

Thank you for your inquiry.

There is no way that we can retrieve the pass code that was set on the phone. You may use the default pass code for the phone which is "0000" or "00000000". If the default pass code did not work then we can do a reset on the phone.

Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.
