You can try if this step will push thru since the screen is broken
To transfer Picture files, using PC Studio 3 & a USB cable, to a PC follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either PC Studio or Ask on Connection
For instructions on changing the USB mode setting, click here.

Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Headset jack/Adapter jack & the PC's USB slot
When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top right of the display
If prompted, Select the PC Studio USB setting
Open the Samsung PC Studio 3 program on the PC
Click on Phone Explorer (Manage Files)
From the Phone Explorer screen, click on the Graphics folder
Click on the Photo file (For multiple files hold down the Ctrl key) then click on To PC
From the Browse for Folder screen, click on the destination location
Click OK to transfer the Photo file from the SGH-A837 (Rugby) phone to the PC

up load to PC go to www.samsung.com they have free a program for the phone you will have to register your phone and set up account it is all free and nice to get the program and you can blue toot your phone book to your PC then move you Sim card to new phone and them blue toot it to new phone or you can copy you phone book on your phone to your Sim card and when you move you Sim to the new phone it will ask you do you want to move your phone book (number) to your new phone or just go to where you get your service and they will do it most of the time it is free it take about 1 min

The handset does feature a voice recorder, but it does not have any configurable options for voice dialing with or without a Bluetooth headset.

Regarding your concern, we recommend having a soft reset on your Samsung Rugby® Cell Phone (SGH-A837). Soft reset is removing the battery for about a minute on your phone and putting it back just for you to refresh the settings on the handset. We recommend also pressing the volume up key while you are on call.

Is it scrolling by itself?

You may try performing a soft reset on the phone as a basic troubleshooting step to fix it, by taking out the battery for at least 15-30 seconds, then put the battery back in again and turn it back on to refresh the software.

Artemis! virus has been found in the Samsung New PC Studio installation packet

During the intallation of the Sumsung New PC Studio (New_PC_Studio_1.5.1.10064_2.exe file downloaded from the Sumsung web site) the McAfee antivirus software have detected the Artemis! virus in the RCX1134.tmp file that in included in the intstalation. You will find the screenshot of the McAffe output in the attachment.
Could you provide an explanation for this fact?
Should be a warning/alarm sent to the other users?
Where can I find a "clean" version of the software?

Thank you for your inquiry. You need to format the card before the phone will mount it. You can follow the steps below to format the memory card on the phone.

Warning: Formatting a memory card will permanently delete all current content.

Important: This phone does support the use of a microSDHC memory card of up to 16GB capacity.

Insert a microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located under the phone battery
Click here for instructions on inserting or removing a memory card
From the standby screen, press the right soft key for Menu
Select My Stuff
Highlight the On Card tab, using the left or right navigation keys
Highlight Audio, Pictures, or Videos, using the navigation keys
Press the left soft key for Options
Select More
Select Memory Card Settings
Select Format
Press the left soft key for Yes to confirm formatting the microSD Memory Card

EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY sgh-a837 RUGBY

i have been use my sgh-a837 (RUGBY) for past how many months flawlessly txt call and everything in between. then one day it wont let me make calls texts basically everything got to do with a service provider. it got a full signal bars but still it wont let me call. i tried a new sim but its the same thing i tried to look for the service provider im using but it cant be found, i tried it with my sgh-d407 it found the service provider. is there any suggestion you can give me. i already did the master reset and its still the same. its still on warranty IMEI 3579202674889/2 06 got it from att about march-april 2010

how do I transfer sms from phone to pc?

I need to transfer text messages from my phone to a pc, including the header from the message.

Thank you for your inquiry.

For you to connect the SGH-A837 handset to the computer so that you can transfer the text message, it would require you to have the USB data cable and the driver for the SGH-A837 handset, which is the Samsung New PC Studio.

For you to download the Samsung New PC Studio on your computer:
1. Deactivate the antivirus and firewall on your computer.
2. Open the web browser and then log on to this link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportDownloadCenter.do?prd_ia_cd=N0000003&prd_mdl_cd=SGH-A837DKAATT&prd_mdl_name=SGH-A837

3. Click on the software tab and then download the compatible driver for the type of OS on your computer.
4. Save the driver on your desktop.
5. Once download is complete, double click on the EXE file and click on Run.
6. Follow the procedure to install it.

For you to connect the phone to your computer, follow the procedures on this link below.

My battery has very short charge, would like to turn off 3G and use EDGE coverage

Hi littleriver!

Thank you for your inquiry.

There will be no configurable option to turn off 3G on the phone as it is a network dependent service.

However, you can make the battery life longer by setting the backlight to a shorter amount of time, put ring tones to lower volume settings and turn off vibrate settings.
