Thank you for your inquiry.

For you to connect the SGH-A837 handset to the computer so that you can transfer the text message, it would require you to have the USB data cable and the driver for the SGH-A837 handset, which is the Samsung New PC Studio.

For you to download the Samsung New PC Studio on your computer:
1. Deactivate the antivirus and firewall on your computer.
2. Open the web browser and then log on to this link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportDownloadCenter.do?prd_ia_cd=N0000003&prd_mdl_cd=SGH-A837DKAATT&prd_mdl_name=SGH-A837

3. Click on the software tab and then download the compatible driver for the type of OS on your computer.
4. Save the driver on your desktop.
5. Once download is complete, double click on the EXE file and click on Run.
6. Follow the procedure to install it.

For you to connect the phone to your computer, follow the procedures on this link below.

There will be no configurable option to turn off 3G on the phone as it is a network dependent service.

However, you can make the battery life longer by setting the backlight to a shorter amount of time, put ring tones to lower volume settings and turn off vibrate settings.

Regarding about your concern, upon checking the specifications and settings on the Samsung Rugby® Cell Phone (SGH-A837), there is no configurable option to disable the functionality of the camera button. This is the default settings of the phone.

The Samsung Rugby® Cell Phone (SGH-A837) doesn't have any configurable options to add a ringtone to a specific contacts but you can assign MP# as ringtones.

Is the rugby Mac compatiable

There is no configurable option on the settings of the phone to disable the camera button. You may however, try to create an application lock on the camera to prevent it from taking pictures while inside your pocket.

Note: You may coordinate with your service provider and have the PTT functionality activated and use it as a means of shortcut with regard to your contacts and making a call.
