Regarding the ability to sync with Outlook, Samsung does not provide an application by which to do this.

However, please bear in mind that Samsung does not support 3rd party apps and services with any of our device

With regards to your concern, it would be best to go to any of your Service Provider store and ask assistance how to configure the proper insertion of the SIM card and to further determine whether the SIM card is the problem or phone itself.

Hi, it could be a sim lock on the phone. If that is the case you can reset the phone to its factory default settings. If that didn’t work, you may need to send the phone in to our service center for reflash.

Hi, you can use the mass storage capability of the phone to connect to your mac computer. You need to have a formatted memory card inserted in your phone for this process, once you have that, please follow the link below, it also includes different methods of transferring pictures.

The easiest way to transfer pictures from the phone to the computer is through mass storage.

This option will require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a data cable for you to connect the device to the computer.

Try the following steps on the phone:

From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either Mass Storage or Ask on Connection
From the standby screen, press Menu
Press Settings
Press Connectivity
Press Select USB Mode
Press the desired USB Setting, choose Mass Storage
Press Save to keep the USB Mode setting
Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot
If prompted, Select the Mass Storage USB setting
If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually
Navigate to the picture/video file location on the memory card or PC
Drag n Drop or copy & paste the picture/video file into the desired destination on the PC or the Pictures or Videos folders on the handset

From the standby screen, press Menu
Press Settings
Press Time & Date
Press the Time Zone Updating drop down arrow then press Manual Only
Press the box under Time Zone
Navigate to the correct Time Zone, scrolling left or right and up or down, then press the desired Time Zone
Press the image of the sun to enable or disable DST
Press OK to save the Time & Date setting
Press Yes to update the Time & Date
Press Save to set the Time and Date settings
Note: Changes may not take effect until the handset is power cycled (turned off then turned on again)

Can't connect via Bluetooth

I have a Samsung Flight and I'm able to pair it with my laptop but when I search for it in "New PC Studio" it doesn't show up. I had no problem with my old Samsung phone. Any suggestions?

Pertaining to your query, are you trying to transfer files from your phone to your PC using the Bluetooth capability of the phone?

If yes you won't need to have the PC studio for you to connect it to the phone, you will only need to have the Bluetooth capability of your PC or computer.
However if you intend to transfer files using the Bluetooth connection, please follow the steps below:

Via Bluetooth

Note: Both Bluetooth devices MUST support Bluetooth FTP (File Transfer Profile)

To transfer (via a Bluetooth adaptor) Photo/Video files, from the Samsung SGH-A797 (Flight) phone, to a PC follow the steps below:

On the Samsung SGH-A797 (Flight) phone

1.From the standby screen, turn Bluetooth On
To learn how to Turn On Bluetooth please follow the steps below:
To enable Bluetooth follow the steps below:

-From the standby screen, press Menu
-Press Settings
-Press Connectivity
-Press Bluetooth
-Press the Bluetooth icon below to enable Bluetooth

2.Change the phone’s Bluetooth visibility to On

On the PC

1.Connect the Bluetooth adaptor to the PC’s USB port
2.Search for Bluetooth devices
3.Select the device to pair with the PC
4.Exchange PIN code(s) on both the PC & phone to pair devices (default pass code is “0000”)
5.Using My Bluetooth Places, select File Transfer to view the phone’s contents
6.Copy the desired Photo/Video file
7.Paste the file in a PC destination

You can go to your service provider so they can check the phone and they can try a different battery and charger on the phone.

You may also call our Samsung Customer Support, so we can do minimal troubleshooting to your phone. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

To transfer Picture/Video files, using Windows Explorer & a USB cable, between the phone and a PC follow the steps below:

WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT USB DATA CABLE DURING THE FILE TRANSFER

1.From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either Mass Storage or Ask on Connection
■For instructions on changing the USB mode setting:

1.From the standby screen, press Menu
2.Press Settings
3.Press Connectivity
4.Press Select USB Mode
5.Press the Mass Storage.

**Press Save to keep the USB Mode setting

Note: The Bluetooth feature must first be disabled before initiating a USB connection with the handset.

Please charge the phone first - the standard charging time for SGH-A797 is up to 3 hours. Use it again after charging, however if it will not still turn on then I would recommend you to visit a nearby Service Provider store in your place to try another battery and charger on the phone. You need to know where the problem is coming from - it could be the battery, charger or the phone that is defective, you can ask an assistance to your Service Provider to isolate the issue. And after that, please contact Samsung Technical Support 1-888-987-4357 Direct Hotline. You will be offered to either send the phone to Samsung Service Center to have it evaluated and repaired or it could be an accessory replacement for the charger. The phone repair and accessory replacement is Free for as long as it is In Warranty and has no physical and water damage on it. Further details will be explained to you by the representative on the call.
