Hi dawnb,

Thank you for your inquiry.

You can sync Outlook calendar on the SGH-A797 (Flight) through the use of New PC Studio. Please check the link below to download the software.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportDownloadCenter.do?prd_ia_cd=N0000003&prd_mdl_cd=SGH-A797ZSAATT&prd_mdl_name=SGH-A797

You would need to install the software on your computer. Once it has already been installed, launch the program, and then connect the phone to the computer using a USB data cable. Once the program is launched, an option to sync Outlook calendar displays.

We thank you for your patronage of Samsung products.

Hi Herbyj01!

If you’re trying to transfer files from your Samsung Flight (SGH-a797) handset directly to your computer, then you may use Mass Storage method by using a compatible data cable and a formatted memory card inserted on the device for it to be recognized by the computer. Steps will be discussed below.

Please Note: The SGH-A797 (Flight) phone includes support for Digital Rights Management (DRM) which allows you to play or view some purchased or subscription content. These copyright protections may prevent some images, videos, music (including ringtones) and other content from being copied, modified, transferred or forwarded.

Via Windows Explorer (Mass Storage)

Note: If the Bluetooth feature is currently active on the phone, USB communication between devices will not be available. To transfer files to or from the phone, turn off the Bluetooth functionality.

WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT USB DATA CABLE DURING THE FILE TRANSFER

Important: In order to transfer pictures (via Windows Explorer & a USB cable) to a PC the pictures MUST be located on a formatted microSD Memory Card. The microSD memory card must first be formatted, by the phone, in order for the handset to create the destination folders.

To format a microSD memory card follow the steps below:

Warning: Formatting a memory card will permanently delete all current content.

1. Insert a microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located under the battery cover
2. From the standby screen, press Menu
3. Press Settings
4. Scroll down then press Memory Management
5. Press Memory Card Details
6. Press Format
7. Press Yes to confirm formatting the microSD Memory Card

Caution!: Do not repeatedly format a Memory Card as this shortens it's service life

Note: The minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card. However, for optimal performance Samsung recommends using a card no larger than 2GB.

STEPS:

1. From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either Mass Storage or Ask on Connection

1. From the standby screen, press Menu
2. Press Settings
3. Press Connectivity
4. Press Select USB Mode
5. Press Mass Storage or Ask on Connection
6. Press Save to keep the USB Mode setting

2. Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot
 When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top of the display

3. If prompted, Select the Mass Storage USB setting
4. If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually
5. Navigate to the picture/video file location on the memory card or PC
6. Drag n Drop or copy & paste the picture/video file into the desired destination on the PC or the Pictures or Videos folders on the handset

Greetings!
First of all I would like to apologize for the inconvenience that you are experiencing on your handset lately. The default password for the phone is "0000" or "00000000", try these two first. And for your personal password, there is no way that we can retrieve the password that was set on the phone. If the default password did not work then we can do a reset on the phone.
Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.
Sincerely,
Technical Support

Hi CFerendzo!

Thank you for your inquiry. Samsung has launched several initiatives in an effort to become an eco-friendly Company to “go green”. One such practice now in place is to eliminate the printing of hard copy User Manuals for our handsets. This is an ongoing project, and for this reason, we are no longer providing printed User Manuals upon request.

However, the user manual for your Samsung phone in PDF format is available for download from the Samsung Download Center. From the website, simply enter the model or portion of the model number or name into the product search field to take you to the user manuals available.

Should you have additional questions concerning a specific feature of your device, please contact us anytime, as we would be happy to provide additional information.

You can also contact our Customer Care Center by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

We thank you for your understanding and appreciate your continued interest in Samsung products.

Thank you for your inquiry.
Yes, you can certainly transfer your ringtone and pictures from your old phone to your new phone. And as a matter of fact there are 3 ways to do it. And you can just select on what do you think is suitable for you. You can transfer your files via Bluetooth, wherein you will pair your phone to your old phone with the Bluetooth activated and transfer the files. Second is if you have a memory card, then you can transfer the files by inserting the memory card into your old phone, copy or move the files on the memory card and once everything has been copied or moved, then you can insert the memory card into your new phone. And you can also copy or move the files to your phone memory or better if you can just have the memory card inserted on your phone always. In that case if get a new phone again, you can just do the same thing. And finally, you can also transfer the files to your PC and from the PC you can transfer the files via a USB cable. You will connect your phone to your PC and transfer the files. These are you 3 choices on how you can transfer your media files to your new phone. If you need assistance to any one of these 3 ways, you can always call us.
