How can you "unlock" the screen when there is an incoming call?

Before I can even hit the speaker button when a call comes in - the screen immediately locks. I have to tell my caller to wait while I unlock the screen and then choose speaker on. This is very annoying.

To enable or disable the Phone Lock setting follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press Menu
Press Settings
Press Phone
Press Security
From the Lock Phone section press one of the folllowing:
On- The phone locks immediately and stays locked until you enter the correct lock code
Off- The phone remains unlocked

Question

Cannot calibrate phone correctly

My phone's calibration on the touchscreen has gone horrible. I can't touch anything on the left third of the screen. When I do it hits things that are in the middle of the phone. I tried doing Settings>Phone>Calibrate and when I do that it will not allow me to hit the box where I need to. It only accepts me touching the screen with a pen if I hit the wrong spot where it wants me to. I tried resetting the phone with no luck as well. Can you please give me any advice

Question

Is there a way to disable mute on this phone?

I'm left handed and the mute is on the left and gets activated during each call. A BIG aggravation to say the least. Not everyone is right handed and it would be useful if the mute were activated on the right or maybe in some other way other than touch. If this phone can't be fixed, do you make a touch phone with the mute located on the right or in some other place? Thanks for your help and time.

For you to enable the speaker phone on the Samsung Flight™ Full Qwerty Cell Phone (SGH-A797), while on an incoming or outgoing call, slide the Speaker to the left (On) to enable the Speakerphone. To disable the Speakerphone slide the Speaker to the right. You will see Speakerphone On or Speakerphone Off on the SGH-A797 (Flight) handset display to signify the Speakerphone option is enabled or disabled. Use the volume keys (located on the left side of the phone) to adjust the Speakerphone volume.

Warning: Due to higher volume levels, do not place the phone near your ear when using the speakerphone feature.

Regarding about your concern, what we can advise is for you to save first the music from a CD to your computer and then transfer it to the Samsung Flight™ Full Qwerty Cell Phone (SGH-A797).

For you to connect the SGH-A797 handset to your desktop computer, it would require you to have USB data cable, with part number: APCBU10BBEBSTD and also download on your computer the driver for the phone, which is the Samsung New PC Studio.

For you to download the Samsung New PC Studio on your computer:
1. Deactivate the antivirus and firewall on your computer.
2. Open the web browser and then log on to this link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportDownloadCenter.do?prd_ia_cd=N0000000&prd_mdl_cd=SGH-A797ZSAATT&prd_mdl_name=SGH-A797

3. Click on the software tab and then download the compatible driver for the type of OS on your computer.
4. Save the driver on your desktop.
5. Once download is complete, double click on the EXE file and click on Run.
6. Follow the procedure to install it.

Can you diagnose interferrence?

I purchased my phone in Dec 2010. It has worked well until June 2011. Suddenly, when I use it in my neighborhood or in my house (especially), the person on the other end of the line says I break up so badly they can't understand me. I also have many dropped calls. I did request a warranty phone and when I got it, it did the exact same thing. My family all have Iphones and they are not experiencing this problem. I really like my phone and would prefer not to have to change to an Iphone. Could you help me figure out what is causing this interferrence?

The touch screen on mine has stopped working, and I was trying to navigate through my contacts to make a call. the side button scrolls, but is there any way to select a contact without the use of the screen?

Please try to do a soft reset on the phone by powering it off and removing the battery then placing it back again to reboot the handset.

Thank you for the inquiry. Regarding with the lock codes of the phone, you may try the 4 zeros "0000" or 8 zeros "00000000" as a default password of the phone. If this code doesn’t work on the phone, you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.
