Phone Lock never set but is asked for?

I never set a phone lock but after turning on my phone is tasked for a password and I cannot get into my phone, is there a way to delete this phone lock password.

Thank you for your correspondence. Regarding your concern, you may use the listed steps below on how to make a 3 way call on your phone.

To Make a Conference Call, between yourself and two other callers, on the handset follow the steps below:

1.While in standby mode, dial the number for the first party, then press SEND
2.When connected, ask them to remain on the line.
3.Press the SEND key to place them on hold.
4.Dial the second party’s phone number and press SEND.
5.When the second party answers, press SEND to connect all three parties.
Note: As the originator of the conference call, should you disconnect, the other two parties will also be disconnected. If one of the individuals should disconnect, you will still be connected to the other.

Note: For handsets which support more than 3 individuals on one call, repeat steps 1 through 5 until all parties are connected.

However, an option to you may use the listed steps provided below on how to change the wall paper on your phone.

To change the Display Wallpaper follow the steps below:

1.From the standby screen, press Menu
2.Press Settings
3.Press Display and Light
4.Press Wallpaper
5.Press Pictures
6.Press the desired Picture to view it
7.Press Set to save the image as the Display Wallpaper
Tip: Press the plus sign (+) to enlarge the picture and press to Rotate it too

Question

Is there a way to block your phone from the internet?

Two months I have been charged for accessing the internet. I don't use the internet and don't even want the option, but I'll take it out of my pocket or purse and it will say, "do you want to exit browser now?" I never wanted to enter the browser in the first place. I have a Samsung Flight.

Thank you for your inquiry. There's no configurable option for us to block the phone for internet as it is the default settings on the phone. However, you contact your service provider for them to give you the option of disabling the internet feature of the phone from their system.

To edit sound profile message alerts follow the steps below:

1.While in standby mode, press on Menu
2.Select Settings
3.Select Sound Profile
4.Press on the Sound Profile to be edited from the following:
Normal
Silent
Driving
Outdoor
5.From the Message screen (Press on the drop down arrow):
Press on Message Alert Type (Melody)
Press on the desired Message Alert Type from the following:
Melody
Vibration
Vibration & Melody
Mute
Press on Save to keep the Message Alert Type setting
Press on Message Alert Tone (Message Tone 1)
Press on the desired Message Alert Tone then press on Save or press on Tones, press on the desired Tone then press on Add
◦Press on the Message Alert Repetition drop down arrow
Press on either Once or Periodic
Set the Alert Tone Volume setting
Scroll down then press on Vibration Pattern (Vibration 1)
Press on the desired Vibration Pattern
Press on Save to keep the Vibration Pattern setting
6.Press on Save to save the Normal, Driving or Outdoor Sound Profile settings

Audio files less than 300 KB are treated as ringtones, whereas audio files which are greater than 300 KB are considered as Music. Users cannot set an MP3 file as a ringtone if it is larger than 300 KB. Some MP3 files transferred to the handset via ActiveSync may not be able to be used as ringtones or alerts.

Note: Please check the size of the Mp3 file you are trying to assign as a ringtone.

The supported card types are microSD memory card and microSDHC memory card.

We recommend contacting your service provider to have the configuration settings for MMS messaging for this handset.

To send a multimedia message, to anyone with a compatible device, please follow the steps below:
1. While in standby mode, press Message.
2. Enter the Message text, using the QWERTY keyboard.
3. Press Insert.
4. Press Picture or Video.
5. Press the desired picture to enlarge it or Video to play it.
6. Press Add to insert the picture into the Message.
7. Press "Tap to Add Recipient".
8. Enter the phone number or e-mail address, using the QWERTY keyboard then press OK
9. Press Send to send the multimedia Message to the Recipient(s).

Tip: You can send a multimedia Message to up to 10 Recipients.

You may change the text input mode on your Samsung Flight (SGH-A797). The T9 Predictive Text Input Mode display different suggested spellings of words when you're enterring or creating a message. You may change this to Abc Text Input Mode for normal texting on your handset.

1. Touch the on-screen Text Input mode button.
2. Touch one of the available Text Input modes.
3. Enter the desired text.

Upon checking the specifications and settings on the Samsung Flight™ Full Qwerty Cell Phone (SGH-A797), there are no configurable options available to change the screen contrast on the LCD screen.

However, regarding your concern, you can adjust the brightness settings, which allows you to adjust the display brightness for the LCD to see better within different lighting conditions.

1. From Idle mode, touch Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Display and Light ➔ Brightness.
2. Drag the Level slider to the brightness level you desire (range is 1-5).
3. Touch Save.

As an initial troubleshooting step, kindly perform a soft reset by turning it off and removing the battery for 30 seconds. After that, try to go back to the settings once more to change the profile from Normal to Outdoor.
