Question

How to get information/media off of phone?

I have an old Samsung a707 that I dropped on the ground and it stopped working. If I pushed the battery real hard in the phone, it'd turn back on until I released pressure. Now, it won't even do that. I just want to get all of my old pictures off of it, how can I do that?

Unfortunately, there is no support for the use of our standard phones with a Macintosh computer, nor does Samsung offer compatible software. The only handsets for which we provide limited support for connection to an Apple / Mac computer are the PalmOS handsets offered for use on the Sprint Network.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this presents.

However, it may be possible to use the mass storage feature of your device to connect to your Mac and drag and drop media files between your device and Mac computer, using the Mac equivalent of Windows Explorer.

The volume buttons are the keys for you to adjust the font size on your text messages as you desired.

Once you open up a message from your inbox, press the volume up key (if you want to enlarge the font size) and press the volume down key (to reduce the font size) on the phone.

Question

The PC Studio 3 won't put my Outlook appointments on the calendar.

it syncs the various appointments from Outlook 2003 to my Samsung Sync SGH-A707, because I can see them in the Event list. But only for the current month can I access those appointments through the calendar display. For January and beyond (while it's still December, at least), there aren't any appointment flags (red indicators) showing in the calendar diplay.

It turns out it is an error in handling the years. When I did the sync in December, nothing appeared in Jan, Feb, Mar, etc. 2011. However, when I re-synced things on Jan. 1, the appointments appear on the calendar correctly. The software somehow mishandles calendar items that are in a future year.

I would like to upgrade to a new phone (AT&T) but do not want to lose the pictures and text messages on this phone.

Is there a data cable available for this phone that will allow me to transfer the pictures, text messages, etc. to my PC so that I will not lose them? The reason this is so important to me is that my son passed away and I do not want to lose any of the text messages from him that he sent, or any of the photos and videos. I hope you can help me. Regarding about your concern, we recommend checking if the SGH-A707 handset is in silent mode. Try also to press the volume up key until the system volume is set to high level.

After checking the settings of the phone, try to have a soft reset on the phone. Soft reset is removing the battery for about a minute on your phone and putting it back just for you to refresh the settings on the handset.

Can I retrieve my contact numbers from my phone if they are not saved to the sims card?

The phone still work, i can receive phone calls and dial numbers but the screen isn't working. I can't see anything on the screen, it was ran over by a car.

Thank you for your correspondence. By default there is no option on the phone to remove the AT&T firmware, for the phone is manufactured and design for AT&T networks and the firmware that comes on the phone is already the original firmware.

But the software for this phone not support the by Windows 7. This is compatible only for Windows Vista and XP.

A707 asks for password

I hadn't used my Samsung A707 in the last 2 years, but woud like to use it as a backup phone now. When I switch it on, it asks for a password. I don't recall having set a password and even if I did, I already tried all codes I can think of (including "0000"). How can I get past this screen?

What do I do when it says, "Phone Freeze. SIM Unavailable?"

I am in Malawi right now, and I put a Malawian SIM card in my phone, and then this came up. I later tried to put my old SIM card in, but it still wouldn't let me use it. Also, when I try to do a SOS call, it won't let me because it tells me it isn't allowed. What do I do?

cell phone got wet a-707

my cell phone, which i really like got extremely wet. i took out the battery and opened everything up and put a fan on it for a couple of days. Now it says download. what does that mean and can this phone be repaired. thank you

LIQUID OR MOISTURE DAMAGE:

Due to Samsung's policy with repairs, any damage encountered to the phone through water or other liquids can and in most cases will cause corrosion to the inner workings of the handset. In these circumstances, it is no longer feasible to attempt to repair the phone; consequently, the phones received in this condition into our North Texas repair facilities are shipped back to the customer un-repaired. If you have insurance through your service provider please contact them for a possible replacement phone. Also, if you purchased the phone with a credit card most companies offer buyers protection. Contact your Credit Card Company to inquire about this program.

CONTACTING SAMSUNG CUSTOMER CARE TO ARRANGE FOR REPAIR:

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

A Customer Service Representative will be able to assist you between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time. The defective product will need to be sent to our repair center and a Proof of Purchase is required. The Repair Administrator will assign an RMA # for the repair that will need to be written under our address on the outside of the package being sent. The phone will be tested and inspected for quality assurance while in our facilities. This will ensure the fact that your phone will be completely functional with all necessary repairs performed when the handset is shipped from our facilities.

NOTE: A copy of the Proof of Purchase must also be included with the phone when sending it in for service.

Our repair facility will have the phone roughly 5-10 days from the time that it is received. Some dealer locations may offer a loaner phone program while your handset is in repair. While Samsung cannot control the availability of these products or programs in your area, please contact your local provider or dealer if you are in need of a phone, to find out if they are a participating member of this program. If you have any questions regarding this process, please ask the Service Representative at the time of your call.

Additionally, if your device is in warranty or you have insurance through your service provider, some providers do offer a replacement policy on phones which need servicing. In some cases, they may send out a replacement phone and the defective phone is sent back to them in return. For more details on a possible exchange, please contact your Service Provider.
