Question

Can I retrieve my contact numbers from my phone if they are not saved to the sims card?

The phone still work, i can receive phone calls and dial numbers but the screen isn't working. I can't see anything on the screen, it was ran over by a car.

Regarding your concern, there are no configurable options to retrieve your contacts if these are stored in your phone memory.

If the phone has physical damage and you would like to have it repaired, you may still send it in for touchscreen replacement.

However, a standard charge will likely apply for the repair of your phone. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

Hi Eddward!

Thank you for your correspondence. You may try Auto Reject option which allows you to enable a phone feature that allows you to automatically reject calls from a list of contacts. Use the Left or Right Navigation key to toggle the activation of this feature. Select Auto Reject List and press the key to access the list of rejected numbers. Press the key to select an entry from the list of press the Create soft key to create a new phone entry. Press the OK soft key or the key to make your selection. Press the
Save soft key to save your new selection.

Note: To reject an incoming call, press and hold the Volume keys on the left side of the phone before opening the phone. A quick press of side volume key silences the ringer on an incoming call.

If this upgrade came from your service provider via OTA (Over The Air), try to do a soft reset on the phone just by taking off the battery and putting it back. Turn the phone on for a powercycle. Make sure that the phone has a full charge. Your phone must also have a strong signal with the network for the upgrade.

Note: Samsung has not released any update for this phone model.

where do i get original firmware

i have a sgh-a707 with branded at&t firmware. how do i get rid of that, and replace it with the original firmware samsung (the manufacturer) would have loaded onto the phone? thanks in advance.

Thank you for your correspondence. By default there is no option on the phone to remove the AT&T firmware, for the phone is manufactured and design for AT&T networks and the firmware that comes on the phone is already the original firmware.

Thank you for your inquiry. With regard to your concern, the first 30 text messages you received using your phone would go straight and stored to the sim card inserted in your phone and the rest would go through the phone memory.

You can transfer your contacts via text message or by bluetooth functionality. On your SGH-A707, Go to Address Book>>Go to Send Name Card>>Choose on the two options>>As message or Via Bluetooth.

Note: If you are transferring the file via bluetooth, please make sure that the bluetooth functionality on the Samsung Intercept is turned on.

Thank you for your correspondence. Regarding your concern, the Samsung PC Studio is only compatible with Windows 2000/XP and Windows Vista.
However, you may still connect your phone to a computer with Windows 7 operating system and transfer picture files using the listed steps below.

Via Memory Card

To transfer pictures (via a memory card), from the SGH-A707 handset, to a computer requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The microSD memory card must first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the destination folders.

WARNING: Formatting the microSD Memory Card will permanently erase all data

To format a memory card follow the steps below:

1. Remove the memory card slot cover, located on the right side of the handset.
2. Insert the memory card into the memory card slot, until it locks in place.
3. From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
4. Select My Stuff (7)
5. Select Memory Card using the left or right navigation keys - My Stuff (Card) will scroll across the top banner.
6. Press the left soft key for Options
7. Select Memory Card Settings (5)
8. Select Format (2)
9. Press the left soft key for Yes to confirm erasure of data.

To transfer pictures (via a memory card), from the SGH-A707 handset, to a computer follow the steps below:

1.Remove the memory card slot cover, located on the upper right side of the handset
2.Insert a microSD memory card into the memory card slot, until it locks in place
3.From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
4.Select My Stuff (7)
5.Highlight Graphics, using the navigation keys
6.Press the left soft key for Options
7.Select Open (1)
8.Highlight desired Photo, using the navigation keys
9.Press the left soft key for Options
10.Select either Move (4) or Copy (5)
11.Select either Selected (1) or Multiple (2)
■If Multiple, highlight each Photo, using the navigation keys
■Press the key to check each Photo’s box
■Press the left soft key for either Move or Copy
■Highlight Memory Card, using the navigation keys
■Press the left soft key for Select
■Highlight the Graphics folder, using the navigation keys
■Press the left soft key for Options
■Select Paste to selected folder (2) to Move or Copy the Photos to the microSD memory card.
12.Highlight Memory Card, using the navigation keys.
13.Press the left soft key for Select.
14.Highlight the Graphics folder, using the navigation keys.
14.Press the left soft key for Options.
15.Select Paste to selected folder (2) to Move or Copy the Photos to the microSD memory card.
16.Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card slot.
17.Replace the memory card slot cover.
18.Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor.
19.Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader.
20.Insert the memory card reader into the USB slot on the computer.
21.Navigate to the Photo location, using Windows Explorer.
22.Drag and drop or copy & paste the Photo(s) into the desired destination on the computer.
