Thank you for your correspondence.

Caution: The plug-in microSD memory card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. Use caution when inserting or removing the card

Please Note: The minimum size limit for a microSD memory card is 32MB. This handset supports the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

Important: The Bluetooth feature must first be disabled before initiating a USB connection with the handset, click here for instructions. Prior to connecting the USB cable to the handset, install the latest version of the Samsung PC Studio application. This application installs the necessary USB drivers onto your PC. For a free download of PC Studio, go to http://www.samsung.com/us/support.

WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT USB CABLE DURING THE FILE TRANSFER

To transfer Picture files, using New PC Studio 1.4.0 & a USB cable, to a microSD memory card follow the steps below:

1. Insert a formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located under the battery cover.
2. From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either PC Studio or Ask on Connection.

3. Connect the USB cable to both the handset's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot.
- When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top of the display
4. If prompted, Select the PC Studio USB setting
5. From the Main Stage, click on the SGH-6897 icon, located in the top right corner
6. From the phone explorer screen double click on the Pictures folder (Internal Memory)
7. Click on the Photo file (For multiple files hold down the Ctrl key) to highlight
8. Right click then click either Copy or Cut (Ctrl C or Ctrl X)
9. Click on the Pictures (Internal Memory) drop down arrow then click on Pictures under External Memory
10. Right click in the box then click Paste (Ctrl V) to copy the Photo file(s) from the SGH-A697 (Sunburst) handset to the Memory Card
11. After the file transfer is completed it will be safe to remove the USB data cable from both the handset & PC
Note: To transfer Videos repeat the same steps above clicking on Videos instead of Pictures

Thank you for your inquiry.

Your phone is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery. The Travel Adapter that is used to charge the battery, is included with your phone. Use only Samsung-approved batteries and chargers.

Using the Travel Adapter
1. With the battery installed, temporarily remove the plastic
cover (top right of phone).
2. Plug the flat end of the Travel Adapter into the Power/
Accessory Interface connector and the other end into a
standard AC wall outlet.
3. When charging is finished, remove the flat end from the
interface connector jack on the phone.

Note: You must fully charge the battery before using your phone for the first
time. A discharged battery recharges fully in approximately 4 hours.

Question

Had to stop using this phone

The Lock button is on the side, and it sticks out too far.
If I drop it in my pocket, it unlocks constantly.
Drives me nuts.
I LIKE the size and functions of the unit, but I have grown tired of this.Holders for it wear out(belt type clips,plastic quickly.
I have almost LOST it 2-3 times.
My question is WHAT basic phone do you offer, with a FULL SIZE QWERTY,(like the Impression, is there, taht maybe smaller, and does not have all the bellls and whistles.
I want to TRY and stay with Samsung,IF possible.(The Impression is too large for pocket carry).

Compatiblity warning in Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Report

Running Microsoft Win 7 Upgrade Advisor results in non-compatibility error for Samsung New PC Studio installed driver. The support download site indicates V1.5.1.10064_2 is Win 7 compatible, but the advisor generates "Not compatible" for status and states in the details column "The driver installed for this device is not compatible with Windows 7." Is there indeed a conflict? If so, how can it be resolved?

You need to transfer your pictures from your phone to your computer first using the memory card. From your memory card to your computer, you can transfer ther pictures to Picasa. ( Third party softwares and applications are outside our boundary support. You may call Picasa for assistance in uploading your photos from your computer.)

When you have transfered your pictures to your memory card, use the memory card adapter to plug the memory card into your computer's USB port.

A new driver will appear in My Computer where you can copy your pictures from the memory card to your computer.

Why won't my computer recognize my SGH-A697 phone when I plug it in via USB?

I'm running Windows Vista. I've downloaded and installed the USB driver from the Samsung download page for this product.
