How can I make longer entries in the Calendar?

The length of fields in the Calendar cuts off information when I synch with Outlook - for example, the name of a committee, or an address for a meeting away from my office. Is there a way to allow more characters in those fields?

Question

How do I reset time and date? Both are wrong

Just noticed that phone shows Jan. 3, 2011 as date, and wrong time. Shut off phone and turned it back on. Phone said time was being reset, but still has wrong date and time.

Re: Samsung A-697 Cell Phone

I need to be able to program meeting dates that occur on a specific day of the week and repeat monthly/weekly etc. Can I get Samsung calendar software that will allow me to do this on my A-697 Samsung cell phone? Otherwise this phone is useless to me. Your NPS software is equiped to recognize such appointments when transferring info from the phone to the PC. How can I accomplish this appointment function capability on my A-697 phone? This is the second request on this topic.

The following steps will help with with using the Bluetooth feature:

To pair the SGH-A697 (Sunburst) handset with a Bluetooth Device follow the steps below:

Place the Bluetooth device in discoverable mode
From the standby screen, press Menu
Press Settings
Press Connectivity
Press Bluetooth
Search for the Bluetooth device by pressing on Search, located in the bottom left corner
Press Yes to Activate Bluetooth and start the search
Press the desired Bluetooth Device (if not shown press the left or right arrows until displayed)
Press the Passkey "0000" then press OK
Press Pair, you will get a brief message stating connecting followed by connected

Note: The first time you try to pair with another handset, you and the owner of the other handset must enter the same PIN. Once the handsets are paired, you will not need to use the PIN again.

How to connect mobile phone to desktop PC?

Synch a697 Sunburst w/PC, Win7, via New PC Studio App. using USB data cableS20 purch via Samsung website. Can transfer contacts from PC to a697, but photo or music files won't export from PC to phone. Question

What PC sync software will work with my phone other than New PC Studio?

Samsung New PC Studio does not work unless it is installed via an administrator account and run under the same administrator account, making it essentially useless to anyone who does not enjoy opening their computer to the entire universe without restriction. What other applications will sync my PC with my Samsung SHG-A697, without such an unbelievably absurd security risk?

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the device with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC

Please follow the steps below, to transfer files between your phone and a PC.

1.Insert a formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located under the battery cover

2.From the standby screen, insure that the USB mode setting is set to either PC Studio or Ask on Connection

To configure the handset's USB setting follow the steps below:

1.From the standby screen, tap Menu
2.Press Settings
3.Press Connectivity
4.Press Select USB Mode
5.Press the desired USB Setting from the following:

◦Ask on Connection
◦Samsung PC Studio (select this for connection of your phone to your computer)
◦Media Player
◦Mass Storage

6.Press Save to keep the USB Mode setting

Note: The Bluetooth feature must first be disabled before initiating a USB connection with the handset. Prior to connecting the USB cable to the handset, install the latest version of the Samsung PC Studio application. This application installs the necessary USB drivers onto your PC. For a free download of PC Studio, go to http://www.samsung.com/us/support.

3.Connect the USB cable to both the handset's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot

■When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon on the top of the display
4.If prompted, Select the PC Studio USB setting
5.From the Main Stage, click on the SGH-6897 icon, located in the top right corner
7.From the phone explorer screen double click on the Pictures folder (Internal Memory)
8.Click on the Photo file (For multiple files hold down the Ctrl key) to highlight
9.Right click then click either Copy or Cut (Ctrl C or Ctrl X)
10.Click on the Pictures (Internal Memory) drop down arrow then click on Pictures under External Memory
11.Right click in the box then click Paste (Ctrl V) to copy the Photo file(s) from the SGH-A697 (Sunburst) handset to the Memory Card
12.After the file transfer is completed it will be safe to remove the USB data cable from both the handset & PC

Note: To transfer Videos repeat the same steps above clicking on Videos instead of Pictures
