Your phone also supports the use of a memory card (microSD) for
data storage of such things as data, music, pictures, and video
files. This type of memory card is designed for use with this
mobile phone and other devices.
Push the microSD card into the slot until it clicks.
• Make sure the microSD’s gold contact pins face upward and the
card is securely inserted.

Note: The Samsung a687 has been tested to support up to a 16GB memory
card.

Because Voicemail is a network service offered by your service provider, questions concerning voicemail, such as those outlined below, would be best addressed by contacting your service provider.

- Configuring your Voicemail for the first time
- Desire to change the greeting
- Unsure of the password
- Wish to change the password
- Would like to know how to access your voicemail from another phone

Thank you for your inquiry.

There's no direct transfer of photos from phone to computer but there's a way. You can transfer those pictures from your phone using a memory card and plug it to your computer for copying.

Here are the steps for copying or moving pictures to a microSD memory card:

1. Insert a formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located on the left side under the battery cover

2. From the standby screen, press the right soft key for Menu
3. Select My Stuff (*)
4. Highlight the On Phone tab, using the left or right navigation keys
5. Highlight the Pictures folder, using the navigation keys, then press the CENTER key to view the contents
6. Highlight the desired Photo, using the navigation keys
7. Press the left soft key for Options
8. Select either Move (6) or Copy (7)
9. Select either Selected (1) or Multiple (2)
> For Multiple Images, highlight each Photo, using the navigation keys
> Press the CENTER key to check each Photo’s box
> Press the left soft key for either Move or Copy
10. Highlight Memory Card, using the navigation keys, then press the left soft key for Select
11. Highlight the Pictures folder, using the navigation keys
12. Press the left soft key for Options
13. Select Open (1)
14. Press the left soft key for Options
15. Select Paste or Move Here (1) to Move or Copy the Photo(s) to the microSD memory card

After those steps, you should have a memory card reader (adapter) for you to connect the memory card to your computer for copying those photos.

Thank you for your inquiry.

The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) and PUK2 are used to unlock the PIN and PIN 2 codes respectively if your SIM card is blocked.

If your phone is PUK locked and is asking for a PUK code, contact your service provider to get the PUK code since it's a lock on the simcard and not on the phone.

How can I lock the keyboard and require a password to unlock

I'm tired of having the phone "unlock" itself in the case. I've tried passwords for most of the other applications, but haven't been able to find a way lock the keyboard to require a specific set of keystrokes to unlock it. Help!!

There's no configurable settings on the phone for the keyboard to be unlocked with a password. The SGH-A687 has a built in Auto Locking prompt concept when slide is closed. From an open position, closing the slide will trigger a prompt asking to Lock Keypad.

Press Yes to lock

Press No to remain unlocked

If no response is provided, the handset will enter a locked state.

However the phone has another lock feature called "phone lock". In Phone Lock mode, you can answer calls, but the phone must be unlocked to place outgoing calls (except to emergency numbers). The phone locks automatically the next time it is powered on and stays locked until you enter the correct lock code.

To enable or disable the Phone Lock setting follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press Menu
Press Settings
Press Phone
Press Security
From the Lock Phone section press one of the folllowing:
On- The phone locks immediately and stays locked until you enter the correct lock code
Off- The phone remains unlocked

Question

How do I make my Strive turn on and Charge?

My Strive won't turn on or charge. It has been turned on before, but then it just shut off on me and won't turn back on or charge at all. I've tried putting the battery in the freezer for about a minute, and i've also tried just letting it sit on the charger for about an hour or so. I don't know what to do anymore.

Hi there!

If you will be transferring media files via bluetooth, both devices should support the FTP (File Transfer Profile).

However if you will be transferring contacts to a car kit, you need to make sure that your phone is listed as one of the compatible devices under the car manufacturer's website.

Checking the bluetooth specification of the A687 phone, your device supports FTP and Handsfree Profile to do these processes.

Follow the steps below on how to activate the bluetooth of the phone and pair it to another device:

1. Place the Bluetooth device in discoverable mode
2. From the standby screen, press Menu
3. Press Settings
4. Press Connectivity
5. Press Bluetooth
6. By default, Bluetooth will be turn off. Press Bluetooth :Off to turn on Bluetooth (Bluetooth activcated bubble will appear)
7. Search for the Bluetooth device pressing Search for a New Device
8. Press the desired Bluetooth Device (if not shown, highlight Search or More Devices and press OK)
9. Press the Passkey "0000" then press OK
10. Press Pair, you will get a brief message stating connecting followed by connected.

Hope this will work for your phone.

Finding a PUK number is not a tough job. To find a PUK code, all you have to do is call your service provider. Before they provide you the PUK code, they will ask you several questions and you need to give them the appropriate information.

At the time when you enter a wrong pin number three times, the phone will be asking you for a PUK number. The PUK code is generally an eight digit number.
