You can't change the stupid center internet button function. Slight inconvenience. Just hit the "end call" button if you open the browser by mistake. And make sure to lock the phone when its in your pocket. I suggest you make sure auto-lock is on also.

You can only change the up, down, left, and right keys. Menu > Settings > Phone > Shortcuts

Where do I find download of Samsung PC Studio for SGH-A667?

Where do I find download of Samsung PC Studio for SGH-A667? I followed directions to your support site and download center, but there is no download for Samsung PC Studio. The only downloads for SGH-A667 are user manuals. The phone supports Samsung PC Studio. Where do I get it?

The US site doesn't show it for some reason, but the Canada site does. Go to http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/main/supportMain.do and enter SGH-A667T as your model number and click any of them (I just chose the top one). It'll bring up a site with a link to download Samsung New PC Studio (It's actually called that. Talk about a creative name.). It works perfectly fine with my US phone.

Go through and read every message in your inbox individually. One of them is flagging as unread. I have had this happen a few times. If that doesn't do it, delete all the messages.

How do I reassign the main center button so that it does something other than try to launch att.net?

I don't want to launch att.net every time I grab the phone and the center button is too easy to hit. I'd like to reassign it to something else so that I only launch the web when I really want to.

You can't. the only buttons you can reassign are up, down, left, and right. Menu > Settings > Phone > Shortcuts.

I often hit that button by mistake, but I just hit the "End Call" button immediately, and it shuts down the browser. So far, I have never racked up any unwanted data charges. Just make sure to lock the keypad when you put the phone in your pocket. I suggest you make sure auto-lock is on.

Menu > Setings > Sound Profile Choose a profile (you can save different settings for normal, silent, etc.) and hit the center button for the "Edit" function. Press right once to move to the "Message" tab. Change message alert type to "mute." Press the "save" button. You will now have to sound or vibration when you receive texts. You can also set it so the phone periodically alerts you about unread text messages, by playing the text tone every minute or so.

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the handset with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC

Why does my new phone turn off by itself sometimes?

Our family unity plan bought 2 Samsung evergreen from AT&T last Aug. 23. Both new cell phones turn off by itself at times. What should we do to prevent this? One time, I was making an urgent call and my cell phone shut off by itself. Another time, I was expecting an important call and my cell phone turned off by itself. Except for this problem, we like all the features of this phone. Please help!

I have had a similar problem with my phone, and I think I have found a solution. I had this phone for several months without any problems, until I tried to perform a software update. Immediately afterwards, my phone started to periodically reset itself, or sometimes shut down completely. This would happen every hour or so. Every time it would reboot, whether on its own, or due to me turning it off, it would display a message telling me the update could not be completed. I have come to believe that there is a problem with the software update, or the update process, that leaves the update unfinished, and the phone constantly thinks it has to reset to complete the update.
Try these steps:
1. back up all of your contacts, whether to the sim card, or whatever other storage device you have.
2. back up all of the pictures, texts, mms, ringtones, music, games that you may have installed since you purchased the phone, anything you don't want erased. If it came on the phone when you bought it, it won't be erased. You can save this stuff to a memory card of some sort. I sent all my pictures to my email via mms.
3. Go to Menu > Settings > Phone >Restore Phone. (Not reset phone, but RESTORE phone) You will be prompted for your password. If you never set a password, you will be asked to create one. THIS WILL RESTORE YOUR PHONE TO FACTORY SPECS AND SETTINGS! LIKE IT JUST CAME OUT OF THE BOX. YOU WILL LOSE ANY INFO YOU DON'T BACK UP!

Since doing this, I have not had the reset / update failed problem for more than 24 hrs, and it no longer gives me the "update failed" message when I reboot the phone. Hope this helps.
