Hi!

Because Voicemail is a network service offered by your service provider, questions concerning voicemail, such as those outlined below, would be best addressed by contacting your service provider.

> Configuring your Voicemail for the first time
> Desire to change the greeting
> Unsure of the password
> Wish to change the password
> Would like to know how to access your voicemail from another phone

Thanks for writing us here at Samsung!

Thank you for your inquiry. You may try to do a soft reset. Turning off the phone for at least 5 seconds and turn it on again. After that, try to set up again your voicemail by pressing and hold the number 1 key on the keypad of your handset. You may also ask your current service provider for all the settings of voicemail on your Samsung phone.

This phone doesn't handle "all contacts" the way some phones do. You probably have a singe file which, if you opened it in a text editor, would be a list of all the contacts. This phone stores, exports, imports each contact separately.
If you still have the other phone, you can export each contact separately and import them into your Samsung. If not, you can edit the file though it will take some time.
Good luck with it and have fun.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Apparently, there is not an option to load a specific language pack to existing models. The phones are manufactured to the language specifications of the region in which they intended to be used. Some phones have English and Spanish capabilities and some have English, Spanish and French.

However, once released, the phones do not have an option to add a language pack or alter the platform to include other languages.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thanks for your question!

Regarding your concern, if you are going to transfer pictures, you may do mass storage so you could transfer them to the computer. For you to connect the phone to the computer, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a data cable that is part of your standard box contents.

If the microSD memory card came from another phone and you could not saved any files on it. Try to format the microSD memory card using your phone so that the phone will recognize the microSD memory card inserted in it.

To format a memory card:
1. Insert a microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located under the battery cover.
2. From the standby screen, press the right soft key for Menu.
3. Select My Stuff.
4. Select Memory Card.
5. Press the Left Soft key for Options.
6. Select Memory Card Settings.
7. Choose Format Memory card.

Note: This action will erase the SD card in the phone. You will lose all data on the card.

To copy pictures from your phone to microSD memory card:
1. From the standby screen, press the right soft key for Menu.
2. Select My Stuff.
3. Select Pictures, and then My Photos.
4. Highlight the Pictures folder, using the navigation keys, and then press the AT&T logo key to view the contents.
5. Highlight the desired Photo, using the navigation keys.
6. Press the left soft key for Options.
7. Select either Move or Copy.
8. Select either Selected or Multiple.
For Multiple Images, highlight each Photo, using the navigation keys.
Press the AT&T logo key to check each Photo’s box.
Press the left soft key for either Move or Copy.
9. Highlight Memory Card, using the navigation keys, and then press the left soft key for Select.
10. Highlight the Pictures folder, using the navigation keys.
11. Press the left soft key for Options.
12. Select Open.
13. Press the left soft key for Options.
14. Select Paste or Move Here to Move or Copy the Photo(s) to the microSD memory card.

To transfer pictures saved on the microSD memory card to your computer:
1. Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card slot.
2. Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor.
3. Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader.
4. Insert the memory card reader into the USB slot on the PC.
5. Navigate to the Photo location, inside the my_pix folder, using Windows Explorer.
6. Drag and drop or copy & paste the Photo or Video into the desired destination on the PC.
Note: To transfer pictures or videos from a PC simply paste them into the my_pix folder on the memory card.

If you need additional assistance or information, please just write us again on this forum or you can also try calling Samsung Customer Support at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, CST. Hi there!

If you intend to use the phone overseas, you have to coordinate with your service provider and get the subsidy code (network control key) that would allow you to unlock the phone from their network.

It's the discretion of the network provider to provide this code and we highly recommend that you call them so you can get details regarding this matter.

Thank you for your inquiry.

You will have to coordinate with your service provider, and ask them for the Network Control Key (NCK code). That is an eight digit code. After getting the NCK code you will have to coordinate with Samsung Customer Support by phone and we will walk you through on how to unlock the phone.

Note: Samsung Technical Support is open Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, 1-888-987-4357 (toll free).

Hi there.

You can add music to your phone through a memory card or downloading from the AppCenter. There are no USB settings or software that will enable you to connect the phone to computer to transfer files.

You can copy music from the computer by the use of an external memory card reader. Insert the microSD card to the external memory card reader and connect it to the computer using a memory card adapter. Once the card is recognized, copy and paste the desire music files to the microSD card.

Once the files are copied to the card, you can now inser the microSD card into your phone.

Downloaded music files from the AppCenter will be stored on the phone memory.

Happy Holidays.

The easiest way to transfer music and pictures between your phone and PC is via Memory Card.

To transfer pictures (via a memory card) to a PC requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The microSD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the phone, in order for the phone to create the destination folders. Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB.

Note: For optimal performance Samsung recommends using a card no larger than 16GB.

WARNING: Formatting the microSD Memory Card will permanently erase all data

To transfer pictures (via a memory card), from the SGH-A817 (Solstice II) phone, to a PC follow the steps below:

Insert the formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot, located under the battery cover

When correctly inserted, the memory card icon is displayed
From the standby screen, press Menu
Press My Stuff
Press Pictures or Video to view the contents
Press Manage
Press either Move or Copy
Press each image to check their box or press All to check All boxes
Press either Move or Copy
Select Pictures or Videos by pressing each or select All
Press Move
Press Memory Card
Select the destination folder
Press Paste Here to Move or Copy the Photo(s)/Video(s) to the microSD memory card
Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card slot
Insert the microSD memory card into the PC
Navigate to the desired Photo/Video destination location, using Windows Explorer, then paste the Photo(s)/Video(s) into the destination on the PC

Thanks!

All folders are under "My Files", you can just please browse all the folders under it to locate the "favorite images" where you have moved those photos by going to Applications > My Files. Then under My Files, please check under DCIM > Camera or SD and the rest of the folders there.

Regarding your concern, what we can offer as passcode for the phone is either "0000" or "00000000". If these codes will not work, then you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.

At your earliest convenience, please call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

However, if you intend to unlock the phone for a different network carrier, you may call your Service Provider and ask for an 8-digit subsidy code (Network Control Key) and the instructions on entering this on the phone.
