Question

SC-3405W and Windows 8.1

I know this printer works. I've tried original drivers off of the installation disc, aand I've down loaded updated drivers. I send files to it and NOTHING happens. I've gotten other printers working. I've cnnected via USB. How do I get this printer working with Win 8?

This problem is fixed. Had some encouragement in Microsoft forum that kept me going.

In looking at my Printer ports, I had both a Virtual USB003 and a USB003 Local port. Dn't know how I managed that, but the fix went something like this...

Disconnnected the printer and removed the print driver from Control Panel, then rebooted

Deleted the USB003 Local from the printer port list, rebooted

plugged the printer back into the USB

Pc found the right printer driver

Windows RT driver

In my Surface RT (Winodws 8 RT) tablet, I failed to add this printer. It says, driver not supported. I could add other printers to my Surface tablet very easily. Does this printer needs any special software?

Error Messesge Login IP Address is Protected

Question

Long time to select printer

When i click on print on any Doc or pdf, it is taking at least 2-3 minutes to give an option to select printer. It is very frustrating to print a file. I set it up as wifi. Is there any setup to be done to make it faster.

SWS ID & password

What is SyncThru Web service? I never had been asked to get ID and password for this SWS. Then you are asking SWS ID and Pword. I can't change device setup like paper size without this SWS ID. Why the printer does not recognize A4 and its normal lower space?

Question

ChromeOS -- what drivers and software to download?

If we are running ChromeOS (Samsung ARM Chromebook) what drivers for firmware and software should we download to keep updated? I do not have a windows machine in my home at all. Running ChromeOS exclusively

Also, my printer always states that it is offline. Is there a fix for this? Every few weeks or so, I have to re-register it with the Google Clound Print servers.

Question

Printer shows OFFLINE once goes into sleep mode and will NOT print unless powered off first

Printer goes into sleep mode.
Once in sleep mode...it will NOT print a print job (ie wake up and print it).
It will sit in the print Q forever. The only way to get it to "print" is to power the unit off by unplugging it, pluggin it back into the wall, then the print job will leave the print Q and print immediately.

Why does my printer driver stop installing at "configuring your system"?

I have an Asus N550Jk running Windows 8.1. I'm trying to install the printer driver for scx 3405w. The install stops at "configuring your system". It just stays there. How do I fix this?

I've already uninstalled the drivers and software and I'm now in the process of reinstalling them.

How do I install downloaded printer drivers on a Linux (Ubuntu) PC?

I've successfully downloaded the printer drivers from your website, but I'm stumped on installing them. I have a Linux (Ubuntu) OS, but I'm a "newbie" when it comes to other-than-simple installations. The unpacked folders I downloaded are on my desktop, as well as in the root of my user files. I assume I must use a "sudo" command in terminal mode, but don't know how to proceed here. Ubuntu keeps me from logging in with super-user privileges; hence the terminal mode with "sudo" commands. Can anyone give me some help?

How do I find out my ID & password?

I need to change the altitude setting in the Device Settings, but it requires an ID and password. Image showing this message it attached.

Other than the Wi-Fi Direct Settings with the Wi-Fi Direct Name and Password, I never saw a prompt or screen for any other ID or password.

Can you please assist me with what ID and Password is needed and where to find it for Device Settings?

there is a driver update listed for windows vist,7, +8 dated july 17th, and one for windows 8 only dated july 2nd. which one do I install?
I have windows 8 but both are listed for win 8? which one is newer?

Question

Printer shutting down upon starting

Upon starting printer has a different sound than normally and the printer shuts down. Sound like the roller is locked and will not turn. I have unplugged the printer and took the drum out and reset the drum back in and it is still locked and will not start.

Question

Wireless Network Secrity

I'm being asked for my Network Password. The password is 7 characters long. The "Next >" does not activate or highlight unless you enter 8 characters. I share the wireless network at an office I rent space from and they're not about to change everyone passwords because I bought a new printer. Does anyone have any suggestions?
