Question
How can I get the printer to work through my wi-fi?
I have just installed this printer through my wi-fi yet I cannot get it to print. I am getting a message that says "The port is not connected. Check it." The printer dialog says the printer is offline, yet apparently the installation was successful. I need this printer to work through my wi-fi because it sits far away from my laptop. HELP!

It is really up to you, it is a "quick start up app" for the Samsung print monitor found in start-up programs added by the Samsung printer software, the printer will work fine without it, using the native windows system dialog. Can be turned off and on in the start-up tab of msconfig using the run command from the start menu and typing "msconfig" or "msconfig.exe

I trying to update my device setting and when I hit save the system is aksing for my ID and password of SWS administrator. What is this?

SCX-3405 multifunction laser - how to print transparencies?
How should I set the paper settings to print on (plastic) transparencies? I get paper jams with "Printer default" and "Thick" paper settings.

Your printer is not able to print transparencies. Also the improper type of transparencies can melt inside your printer causing internal damage.

Question
Can't install drivers
I have spent the better part of the day trying to install the drivers for this printer (SCX-3405FX) on a Windows XP laptop. I have tried every print driver on the support website and every installation fails at the very end of the installation. I see a brief message saying the driver failed and then a dialog box that says it was successful. There is no printer in the print folder other than the Journal Note Writer and the Microsoft XPS Document Writer. I have had no issues in the past installing other printers on this computer. I did successfully install the drivers on a Windows 7 x64 machine (same network) without any issues. Any ideas?!

I have gone thru the setup process without a glitch until I tried to print a test page. It will not do so. A dialog box showing me printer model number and the IP address (192.168.1.117) issued tells me that the "Port is not connected". What is the problem? This printer is driving me crazy!

I downloaded the Samsung Mobile Print app, but that doesn't seem to allow me to print emails from my iPhone or iPad using my new Samsung printer. I've printed emails from my mobile devices on other wifi printers. Is there a way to do so with this device?

I just bought SCX-3405FW Multi-Function Printer. I have installed the software and my printer is connected to my wireless home network.
Every time I hit print, select the right printer, it opens up "Save Output as" window instead of printing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Click Start > Devices and Printers and then right-click on your printer and select Set as Default Printer. Based on your description, it sounds like the Microsoft XPS Document Writer is currently set as the default printer.
I have 4 computer in my house how do I scan documents to different computers?
I see the name of my computer when I press scan > scan to computer > this part is where I only see my computer > to choose option to scan to a different computer but don't see it. I installed all software on my computers that you sent me on all computers.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. A printer that is offline means that it is turned off or unconnected to the PC viewing it. We suggest you remove and add the printer back.
1. Click Start button 2. Choose 'Devices and Printers' 2. Right click on the appropriate printer 4. Choose 'Remove printer'

Samsung makes an app for both Android and iOS mobile devices that can be used to print to Samsung printers. You can find the iPad-friendly version of this app via the link below.
At this time, there is not a way to remove any registered items from your online account. Please know that Samsung is aware that customers wish to have the ability to remove any registered products they no longer own from their accounts. At this time, the only recommendation we can make would be to delete the account associated with the products you no longer own and create a new one.
How do I change the 2 UP default copy option to Normal?
This must be such an easy question that is why I can't find any reference to it.
I have tried through the keypad to change the default 2 UP Copy option on a page to the Normal ONE ON A PAGE.
I can change the copy default to Normal and it will stay a while and then goes back to the 2 UP. What am I doing wrong? Can I change this default through the keyboard or is it strictly a keypad option only?

Thank you for contacting Samsung. The default setting of toner saver or eco mode is to go with a 2 UP setting. There is no way to change this default. In order to not have the copier default to the 2 UP setting, please turn off toner save or eco mode.

My SCX-3405 seems to be randomly disconnecting from the Wi-fi network. I'm able to restore connectivity by attaching the printer by cable to a computer and re-entering the wireless network key. But why is it dropping off in the first place?
