Greetings taintedxlove!

Thanks for reaching out!

The SCH-U960 (Rogue) handset features two different methods to transfer pictures from the handset to a PC. Each steps will be discussed below.

Please Note: The SCH-U960 (Rogue) handset includes support for Digital Rights Management (DRM) which allows you to play or view some purchased or subscription content. These copyright protections may prevent some images, videos, music (including ringtones) and other content from being played, copied, modified, transferred or forwarded.

>>Via Memory Card

Important!: The plug-in microSD memory card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. Use caution when inserting or removing the card and keep all memory cards out of reach of children.

To transfer pictures (via a memory card) to a PC requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The microSD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the destination folders. Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

TO FORMAT MEMORY CARD:

1. Insert a memory card into the memory card slot
2. From the standby screen, press Menu
3. Press Settings & Tools
4. Scroll down then press Memory (9)
5. Press Card Memory (3)
6. Scroll down then press Format Card
7. Press Yes to confirm Formatting the Memory Card

Caution!: Do not repeatedly format a Memory Card as this shortens it's service life

WARNING: Formatting the microSD Memory Card will permanently erase all data

Note: Locked pictures cannot be moved to a memory card

STEPS:

1. Insert the formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot
2. From the standby screen, press Menu
3. Press Settings & Tools
4. Scroll down then press Memory (9)
5. Press Phone Memory (2)
6. Press either My Pictures (2) or My Videos (3)
7. Press Move
8. Press each desired Photo or Video to check their box
9. Press Done
10. Press Yes to Move the Photo(s) or Video(s) to the microSD memory card
11. Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card slot
12. Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor
13. Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader
14. Insert the memory card reader into the USB slot on the PC
15. Navigate to the Photo location, inside the my_pix (or my_flix) folder, using Windows Explorer
16. Drag and drop or copy & paste the Photo or Video into the desired destination on the PC

Note: To transfer pictures or videos from a PC simply paste them into the my_pix or my_flix folder on the memory card

>>Via Message
STEPS:

1. From the home screen, press Messages
2. Press Send Message (1)
3. Press Picture Message (2)
4. To the right of 1 enter the recipients e-mail address
5. Press on each recipient to check their box(es) then press Done
6. Press the Text box then enter the Message text (up to 1000 characters)
7. Press the Picture box then press the desired picture to enlarge it
8. Press to Add the Picture to the Message or press Camera to take a new photo
9. Press the Sound box then press the desired Sound or press Record New to add a new recording
10. Press the Subject box then enter the Subject text (up to 80 characters)
11. Press the Name Card box then press to add My Name Card or a Contact
12. Press Send to forward the Picture Message to the recipient(s)

Note: Picture & Video Messages are only available within the Verizon Wireless Enhanced Services Area

Tip: You can send a Picture Message to up to 10 recipients

Note: To send a message to a group the group must first be added to the favorites

In addition, you may also try to contact your Service Provider if there are option for wireless back up.

If you need additional support please contact our Customer Care Center by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Hi there,

Thanks for the inquiry!

The SCH-U960 (Rogue) handset's Calibration feature allows you to re-align the LCD screen’s touch accuracy. Use this feature only when the device does not respond properly when you touch the screen. Although the handset features a full color WVGA (480 x 800) AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic LED) Touch Screen, there is no need to tap on the display with any type of extra force.

Warning!: The touch screen responds best to a light touch from the pad of your finger or a non-metallic stylus. Using excessive force or a metallic object when pressing on the touch screen may damage the tempered glass surface and void the warranty.

The precautions below should be followed when using the touch screen.

Hands and fingers must be clean and dry. The touch screen is sensitive. Do not use excess force when using the touch screen.
Do not sit or place heavy objects on the touch screen as damage may occur. Do not drag or scratch the touch screen with any sharp objects.
Avoid extreme conditions (excess temperatures and humidity) when the phone is in use. Keep chemicals away from your phone that may damage or change the phone’s appearance and functionality.
Use a soft, clean, dry cloth to wipe the display and remove fingerprints.
Note: When calibrating the screen’s touch accuracy, use a stylus, not your fingers, to touch the center of the cross hair.

To recalibrate the handset follow the steps below:

From the home screen, touch Menu
Touch Settings & Tools
Press Touch Settings (6)
Touch Calibration
Follow the on-screen instructions to recalibrate the handset's touch screen

If this issue persists, then try performing a soft reset; power down the device, remove the battery for several minutes, then re-insert and power up. Should this not resolve your issue, please Samsung Customer Support at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, CST. The Samsung Rogue™ Full Qwerty Cell Phone (SCH-U960) certainly has the capability to connect to the computer via Bluetooth because the phone supports Bluetooth Dial-up Network Profile.

To pair the SCH-U960 (Rogue) handset with another Bluetooth device, please follow the steps below:
1. Place the Bluetooth device in discoverable mode.
2. From the home screen, touch Menu.
3. Touch Settings & Tools.
4. Touch Bluetooth Menu.
5. Touch Search then touch Yes to Turn On Bluetooth and begin the search for a new device.
6. Touch OK at the “Place device you are searching in discoverable mode” prompt.
7. Touch the Bluetooth device then touch to Pair the devices.
8. If auto pair is disabled, enter the Passkey (0000) then touch Done.
9. If auto pair is enabled, the handset will display a brief message stating attempting to auto pair with the Bluetooth Device Name.
10. Touch Yes at the “Connect to (Bluetooth Device Name)?” prompt.
11. You will get a brief message stating connecting with the Bluetooth Device.
12. After being successfully connected the handset will return to the "Bluetooth Menu" screen.

If you are referring using the SCH-U960 handset for tethering to the computer, we recommend contacting your service provider to avail the service and software to use the phone for this feature.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the handset with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop

Question

My Samsung Rogue loses battery bars instead of gaining them when I use my USB charger, what is happeneing ? What can I do ?

I use my old Samsung Intensity's USB charger since they fit, but the other day I charged my Rogue all night, and it was fine, but then a day or so later it was going dead, so I charged it while I slept, and I woke up, and nothing happened, so My mom plugged it up in the car with the only charger that came with my Rogue ( car charger ) , and it charged fine , so then I went to my computer and plugged it up to it, and it had 2 bars on the battery and now it only has 1, and its been charging a while. Usually it charges fast so I think its sucking the power from my phone ..... HELP !

Hi bckykrns!

Thank you for your inquiry.

The SCH-U960 (Rogue) handset has the capability to transfer files directly between a PC and a memory card (residing within the handset) with a compatible USB data cable using the mass storage feature or media sync with Windows Media Player.

To configure the handset's USB setting for Media Sync Mode follow the steps below:

1. rom the home screen, press Menu
2. Press Settings & Tools
3. Scroll down then press USB Mode (0)
4. Press either Media Sync Mode or Ask On Plug from the following:
***Media Sync Mode: When the USB data cable is connected, the device is ready to sync media like music, pictures, and videos from a PC to the microSD memory card inserted in the phone

***Modem Mode: Allows the use of the Verizon Wireless Mobile Office kit to utilize the handset as a modem for a computer (This may require additional service activation available through Verizon Wireless)

***Ask On Plug: The handset will prompt you to select the USB mode each time the USB data cable is connected to the phone and to the USB port of a computer

To use the USB Mass Storage feature follow the steps below:

1. Connect the USB data cable to both the PC and handset
2. From the home screen, press Menu
3. Press Settings & Tools
4. Press Tools (2)
5. Scroll down then press USB Mass Storage (0)
6. The display will now show "Connected to the PC..." Calls Disabled"
7. The PC will now show a new removable disk in Windows Explorer
8. Select the desired action (such as Open folder to view/copy files) and click OK
9. After copying selected files from the PC to the microSD card, inserted in the phone, touch DISCONNECT on the phone to restore phone service then touch Yes to confirm

If these steps won’t work, try to check this stuff:

o Try using a different USB port
o Restart the PC and soft reset the phone
o Make sure that the USB cable is Samsung genuine accessory
o Try to check the removable storage through the "My Computer"

Thank you for your continued interest in Samsung products.
