Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. You may try doing the soft reset on the phone by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it. If it's still not working and still doing the same thing, you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.

Hi Curtwayne!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Apparently, we do not have any available software nor drivers that you would be needing for you to connect the phone to the computer.

If you are going to transfer media files from your Samsung Reality™ Touchscreen Cell Phone (SCH-U820) to the computer, you may do USB mass storage so you could transfer them to the computer.

For you to connect the phone to the computer, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a USB data cable, once you already have the requirements, and then do the following:

If the microSD memory card came from another phone and you could not saved any files on it. Try to format the microSD memory card using your phone so that the phone will recognize the microSD memory card inserted in it.

To format a memory card follow the steps below:
1. Insert a memory card into the memory card slot.
2. From the standby screen, press Menu.
3. Press Settings & Tools.
4. Scroll down then press Memory.
5. Press Card Memory.
6. Scroll down then press Format Card.
7. Press Yes to confirm Formatting the Memory Card.

To move or copy Photos or Images to a memory card follow the steps below:
1. Insert a formatted microSD card into the memory card slot.
2. From the home screen, press Menu.
3. Press Media Center.
4. Press Picture & Video.
5. Press My Pictures.
6. Press the desired Image.
7. Press Options then press Move to Card.

To use the USB Mass Storage feature follow the steps below:
1. Connect the USB data cable to both the PC and handset.
2. From the home screen, press Menu.
3. Press Settings & Tools.
4. Press Tools.
5. Scroll down then press USB Mass Storage.
6. The display will now show "Connected to the PC..." Calls Disabled".
7. The PC will now show a new removable disk in Windows Explorer.
8. Select the desired action (such as Open folder to view/copy files) and click OK.
9. After copying selected files from the PC to the microSD card, inserted in the phone, touch DISCONNECT on the phone to restore phone service then touch Yes to confirm.

Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

ITunes are copy written by APPLE Inc. ITunes files can only be used with APPLE devices. And in some cases files that came from ITunes has different format & your Samsung device can’t support it. However if you want to load ITunes files on your phone, you will need to get a file converter to convert the file to MP3. You may try searching for a file converter online.

However, we do not support the use of 3rd party applications and services with any of our devices. For this reason, we do not have information compiled on possible resources. If you are having issues with the use of a specific 3rd party application or service, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of that application or service for compatibility and support assistance.

Greetings!

Thanks for your question! It depends on what type of application you are trying to download and what the application does or it’s functionality. Since the Samsung Reality device is a basic touch screen phone, the application that you can download and use would be the basic ones. As these applications would be 3rd party apps, please be careful on what to download, check the functionality and features to avoid malfunctions and issues with your device. In order to install an application, you may contact your service provider to download a compatible application for the phone.

For further details regarding this phone, we advise you to visit our website www.samsung.com to check for other specifications that you may enjoy with this phone.

If you need additional assistance or information, you may also please write us again on this forum or try calling Samsung Customer Support at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, CST. There is no configurable option to lock the pictures on your phone but you an have a phone lock mode.

In Phone Lock mode, you can answer calls, but the phone must be unlocked to place outgoing calls (except to emergency numbers). The phone locks automatically the next time it is powered on and stays locked until you enter the correct lock code.

To enable or disable the Phone Lock setting follow the steps below:

From the home screen, touch Menu
Touch Settings & Tools
Touch Phone Settings
Touch Security
Enter the Lock Code (Default is last 4 digits of phone number)
Touch one of the following:
Touch Phone Lock Setting
From the Phone Lock Setting touch one of the folllowing:
Unlocked - The phone remains unlocked
On Power Up - The phone locks after power up
Touch Lock Phone Now - The phone locks immediately and stays locked until the correct lock code is entered

Hi ccastle,

You can transfer media files from your computer to a SCH-U820 phone (vice versa) by using any of the provided methods below.

Via Memory Card

TIP: The plug-in microSD memory card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. Use caution when inserting or removing the card and keep all memory cards out of reach of children.

Note:

1. To transfer videos/pictures (via a memory card) from a computer requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader.
2. The microSD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the destination folders.
3. Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB.
4. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

Warning: Formatting a memory card will permanently delete all current content.

To format a memory card using the handset follow the steps below:

1. Insert a memory card into the memory card slot
2. From the standby screen, press Menu
3. Press Settings & Tools
4. Scroll down then press Memory (9)
5. Press Card Memory (3)
6. Scroll down then press Format Card
7. Press Yes to confirm Formatting the Memory Card

Caution!: Do not repeatedly format a Memory Card as this shortens it's service life

To transfer videos/pictures using a memory card from a computer to SCH-U820 handset follow the steps below:

1. Remove the formatted microSD memory card from the memory card slot.
2. Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor.
3. Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader.
4. Insert the memory card reader into the USB slot on the computer.
5. Navigate to the video location on PC using Windows Explorer.
6. Paste them into the my_pix or my_flix folder on the memory card.

Note: You may also use the steps below to transfer videos from computer to your phone.

Mass Sorage

To use the USB Mass Storage feature follow the steps below:+

1. Connect the USB data cable to both the computer and handset
2. From the home screen, press Menu
3. Press Settings & Tools
4. Press Tools (2)
5. Scroll down then press USB Mass Storage (0)
6. The display will now show "Connected to the PC..." Calls Disabled"
7. The PC will now show a new removable disk in Windows Explorer
8. Select the desired action (such as Open folder to view/copy files) and click OK.
9. After copying selected files from the PC to the microSD card, inserted in the phone, touch DISCONNECT on the phone to restore phone service then touch Yes to confirm.

We thank you for your patronage of Samsung products. Have a good day.

Hi mrvid!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Your phone supports the Hands-Free Profile, Phone Book Access Profile and SIM Access Profile which will allow you to connect your phone with your car kit.

We recommend you to call the car kit manufacturer if it is compatible with the device.

We appreciate your time writing us here at Samsung!
