Question

My samsung reality does not have an email application, how can i get it to allow me to set up my email.

This phone is on pageplus as a provider. It would seem that the phone needs appropriate software. It doesn't have it.

How can i stop the MP3 Player from skipping songs randomly?

When i listen to a song it will start to skip, then sooner or later it will just go on to the next song randomly. Gets VERY annoying.

Thank you for your correspondence. You may try to update the music library of your music player. And also, You may try doing the soft reset on the phone by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it. If it's still not working and still doing the same thing, you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.

Can I change a setting?

I updated my software and on the lock screen before it blacks out the corners fold in, it circles twice, folding in each corner. Can I fix it to not do that, cause it kinda bugs me?????

Regarding about your concern, upon checking the settings on the Samsung Reality™ Touchscreen Cell Phone (SCH-U820), there is no configurable option to change that setting.

You may also download themes that you may download using your favorite search engine on your computer that is compatible with the SCH-U820. However, we do not support the use of 3rd party applications and services with any of our devices. For this reason, we do not have information compiled on possible resources.

You may also contact your network provider for the service and application to download compatible themes for your phone.

Thank you for your correspondence. Regarding your inquiry, you may use the listed steps provided below on how to download pictures from your phone to a computer.

Via Memory Card

Important!: The plug-in microSD memory card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. Use caution when inserting or removing the card and keep all memory cards out of reach of children.

To transfer pictures (via a memory card) to a computer requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The microSD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the destination folders. Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.
Warning: Formatting a memory card will permanently delete all current content.

Important: To play MP3 files they MUST be stored in the My_Music folder in the memory card. The phone MUST format the memory card to create the neccessary destination folders.

To format a memory card follow the steps below:

1. Insert a memory card into the memory card slot.
2. From the standby screen, press Menu.
3. Press Settings & Tools.
4. Scroll down then press Memory (9)
5. Press Card Memory (3)
6. Scroll down then press Format Card.
7. Press Yes to confirm Formatting the Memory Card.

WARNING: Formatting the microSD Memory Card will permanently erase all data.

Note: Locked pictures cannot be moved to a memory card.

To transfer pictures (via a memory card), from the SCH-U820 (Reality) handset, to a computer, please follow the steps below:

1. Insert the formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot.
2. From the standby screen, press Menu.
3. Press Settings & Tools
4. Scroll down then press Memory (9)
5. Press Phone Memory (2)
6. Press either My Pictures (2) or My Videos (3)
7. Press Move
8. Press each desired Photo or Video to check their box.
9. Press Done
10. Press Yes to Move the Photo(s) or Video(s) to the microSD memory card.
11. Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card slot.
12. Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor.
13. Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader.
14. Insert the memory card reader into the USB slot on the computer.
15. Navigate to the Photo location, inside the my_pix (or my_flix) folder, using Windows Explorer.
16. Drag and drop or copy & paste the Photo or Video into the desired destination on the computer.
Note: To transfer pictures or videos from a computer simply paste them into the my_pix or my_flix folder on the memory card.

Via Mass Sorage

To use the USB Mass Storage feature follow the steps below:+

1. Connect the USB data cable to both the computer and handset
2. From the home screen, press Menu
3. Press Settings & Tools
4. Press Tools (2)
5. Scroll down then press USB Mass Storage (0)
6. The display will now show "Connected to the computer..." Calls Disabled"
7. The PC will now show a new removable disk in Windows Explorer
8. Select the desired action (such as Open folder to view/copy files) and click OK
9. After copying selected files from the PC to the microSD card, inserted in the phone, touch DISCONNECT on the phone to restore phone service then touch Yes to confirm.

The events or organizers information that is allowed to be saved on the phones memory, is dependent upon the memory that is available on your handset. Please try to manage the memory available on your handset, by deleting files that you dont need or have already read.

It is because you have selected the T9 feature on the phone. The T9 Word mode allows you to enter words with only one keystroke per letter. Each key on the keypad has more than one letter; for example, pressing the 5 key can enter J, K, or L. The T9 mode automatically compares the series of keystrokes you make with an internal linguistic dictionary to determine the most likely word, thus requiring far fewer keystrokes than the traditional Alphabet mode.

To change the default text entry mode follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press Message
Scroll down then press Settings (9)
Press the Entry Mode drop down box
Select the desired keypad Entry Mode
T9 Word
Abc
ABC
123
Press the red END key to return to the home screen
Note: T9Word, Number and Symbol mode are only available when entering letters using the keypad in portrait mode

Question

lock screen keeps changing back to default picture

when I have my phone in my universal belt holster the lock screen changes from the picture I choose to the default picture the phone came with. I think the lock screen rubs enough that the lock comes off and randomly buttons are pushed on the touch screen. But the most annoying thing is the picture changes on the lock screen all the time, back to the default pic.

Most issues like this may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the handset, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

At your earliest convenience, please call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Our repair facility will have the phone roughly 5-10 days from the time that it is received. Some dealer locations may offer a loaner phone program while your handset is in repair. While Samsung cannot control the availability of these products or programs in your area, please contact your local provider or dealer if you are in need of a phone, to find out if they are a participating member of this program. If you have any questions regarding this process, please ask the Service Representative at the time of your call.

Additionally, if your device is in warranty or you have insurance through your service provider, some providers do offer a replacement policy on phones which need servicing. In some cases, they may send out a replacement phone and the phone that you are having issues with will be sent back to them in return. For more details on a possible exchange, please contact your Service Provider.

Media player sorts songs alphabetically instead of by the ID3 tag for the track number

Is there *any* way of making it sort differently? I like to listen to albums in track order, not alphabetical by song name. Changing the file name doesn't help. Would it help to change the "Title" in iTunes to 01_Airbag instead of Airbag for instance? Thanks!

However, you may change the order of the songs by choosing Shuffle on Options during music playback.

Why won't my phone start?
