Questions & Answers for samsung Samsung Reality™ Touchscreen Cell Phone

Question

How can I stop my phone from beeping when it loses power?

If I turn all sounds off, the phone will still beep when losing power. Also, if I turn my phone completely off it will still turn itself back on to beep and die before being recharged. This is incredibally unfortunate especially for business. How can I prevent the phone from doing these things?

Hi trvlr1700!

Thank you for your inquiry. The beep sound is indicating that your phone loses power and it is a warning tone that letting you know that your phone has a low battery and you need to charge it.

There are no configurable options to chnage that warning tone setting on the phone.

Greetings!
The SCH-U820 (Reality) handset features three different methods to transfer pictures from the handset to a PC.

Please Note: The SCH-U820 (Reality) handset includes support for Digital Rights Management (DRM) which allows you to play or view some purchased or subscription content. These copyright protections may prevent some images, videos, music (including ringtones) and other content from being played, copied, modified, transferred or forwarded.

Via Memory Card
Important!: The plug-in microSD memory card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. Use caution when inserting or removing the card and keep all memory cards out of reach of children.
To transfer pictures (via a memory card) to a PC requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The microSD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the destination folders. Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.
To learn how to format the microSD memory card, please follow the steps below:
Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.
Warning: Formatting a memory card will permanently delete all current content.
Important: To play MP3 files they MUST be stored in the My_Music folder in the memory card. The phone MUST format the memory card to create the neccessary destination folders.
To format a memory card follow the steps below:
•Insert a memory card into the memory card slot
•From the standby screen, press Menu
•Press Settings & Tools
•Scroll down then press Memory
•Press Card Memory
•Scroll down then press Format Card
•Press Yes to confirm Formatting the Memory Card

Note: Locked pictures cannot be moved to a memory card

To transfer pictures (via a memory card), from the SCH-U820 (Reality) handset, to a PC follow the steps below:
1.Insert the formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot
2.From the standby screen, press Menu

Question

Why won't my phone send picture messages?

I have a Samsung Reality, and recently I have been getting an error anytime I try to send/receive picture messages, and as well when I try to take a picture. It says that my memory is full, but i tried deleting all the apps, pictures, videos, sounds, and games and texts; essentially restoring it to factory settings, and I also have a 2 GB memory card, and I even cleared that off, but I'm still getting the error.... Is there a problem with my phone?

If you would like to connect phone to the computer then you do not need any drivers to download for Samsung Reality. USB (Universal Serial Bus) is a type of plug-in connection that is used to connect devices, including some handsets, to desktop or laptop PC's. In a handset, USB is useful for quickly transferring files to and from phones, or for synchronizing information with a PC application.

The SCH-U820 (Reality) handset has the capability to transfer files directly between a PC and a memory card (residing within the handset) with a compatible USB data cable using the mass storage feature or media sync with Windows Media Player.

Note: The minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

To use the USB Mass Storage feature follow the steps below :

Connect the USB data cable to both the PC and handset
From the home screen, press Menu
Press Settings & Tools
Press Tools (2)
Scroll down then press USB Mass Storage (0)
The display will now show "Connected to the PC..." Calls Disabled"
The PC will now show a new removable disk in Windows Explorer
Select the desired action (such as Open folder to view/copy files) and click OK
After copying selected files from the PC to the microSD card, inserted in the phone, touch DISCONNECT on the phone to restore phone service then touch Yes to confirm

If connection is unsuccessful, kindly try to check the following....

> Try using a different USB port (if using a desktop PC, please try to connect the USB data cable at the back port of the CPU)
> Restart the PC and soft reset the phone (turn off and remove the battery for about a minute and put it back in the phone and turn it on again)
> Make sure that the USB cable is samsung genuine accessory
> Try using a different USB cable
> Try to check the removable storage through the "My Computer"
> Disable or turn off the bluetooth connection of the phone

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the handset with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect

Hi!

To Make a Conference Call, between yourself and two other callers, on the handset follow the steps below:

While in standby mode, dial the number for the first party, then press SEND
When connected, ask them to remain on the line.
Press the SEND key to place them on hold.
Dial the second party’s phone number and press SEND.
When the second party answers, press SEND to connect all three parties.
Note: As the originator of the conference call, should you disconnect, the other two parties will also be disconnected. If one of the individuals should disconnect, you will still be connected to the other.

Note: For handsets which support more than 3 individuals on one call, repeat steps 1 through 5 until all parties are connected.

For more information on 3 Way Calling and Conference Calling see your service provider.

Hi SUEBBH01!

Thank you for your correspondence. You can follow the steps below to transfer media files between the phone and the computer.

>Mass Storage

Note: Phone must have inserted a memory card and making sure to use Samsung USB cable

If the steps still won’t work, try to temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus of the computer and retry to perform a mass storage option again.

If the phone doesn’t have a memory card you may have to send the pictures and videos to your e-mail address and retrieve it on your computer.

We thank you for your patronage of Samsung products.
