Thank you for your correspondence. There is no settings on the phone to turn off the power save mode, for it is one of the default features of the phone. If your phone is unable to find a signal after searching, a Power Save feature is automatically activated. If your phone is active, it periodically rechecks service availability or you can check it yourself by pressing any key. Anytime the Power Save feature is activated, a message displays on the screen. When a signal is found, your phone returns to standby mode. You may have to contact your service provider if the phone can't still find signal on your location.

Thank you for your inquiry. You may try doing the soft reset on the phone by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it. If it's still not working and still doing the same thing, you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a more timely manner than we could through this forum.

While your handset does support the Bluetooth profile for hands free operation, this would best be addressed by your vehicle manufacturer, as they can provide a list handsets approved for compatibility. In most cases, this information is available on the manufacturer’s website.

Question

Security Code

At some point I somehow set my security code to a random number, thankfully it is turned off but now I wish to use the security function so no one else can use my phone without my permission. My only problem is that in order to turn on the security setting I need to enter my 4 digit security code which I do not know. Is there a way to reset the security function of my phone? I would even be willing to reset the entire phone if possible but was hoping I would be able to do so without having to go to my provider store.

1. From a Home screen, touch Menu and then select Settings & Tools.
2. Select Sound Settings and then choose Alert Sounds.

There are no configurable options to delete preinstalled games on the SCH-U820 (Reality) phone.

To delete downloaded games, just go to Media Center and then select Browse and Download. Choose the game and select the option to delete.

Hi there.

Thank you for your inquiry. There are four methods in transferring pictures from phone to computer. Mass storage option is the one, easiest method that you can use to transfer file from phone to computer, however to establish a connection between your phone and computer, you need to have a memory card inserted on your phone and a genuine Samsung usb cable.

To use the USB Mass Storage feature follow the steps below:

1. Connect the USB data cable to both the PC and handset
2. From the home screen, press Menu
3. Press Settings & Tools
4. Press Tools
5. Scroll down then press USB Mass Storage
6. The display will now show "Connected to the PC..." Calls Disabled"
7. The PC will now show a new removable disk in Windows Explorer
8. Select the desired action (such as Open folder to view/copy files) and click OK
9. After copying selected files from the PC to the microSD card, inserted in the phone, touch DISCONNECT on the phone to restore phone service then touch Yes to confirm

the software

i have the samsung reality, i have a memory card with my sound (i use the sounds as my ringtone)my pictures and everything but sometimes it works sometime it doesnt. this happens right after the phone installed the new software. i was wondering if i could get the old software back, IF SO PLEASE HELP!!!!

Question

My Samsung Reality screen freezes often.

When the touchscreen freezes, we have tried turning the phone off, leaving it off for 10 seconds, then turning it back on. This has not worked. We have also tried taking the battery out, but this has also proven useless.

Thank you for taking the time to inform us of the issue concerning your Samsung product.

Most issues may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup warranty service for your phone, if it is determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the phone has failed, our Repair Administrators create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the Phone. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and that the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, it will be repair under warranty.

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

A Customer Service Representative will be able to assist you between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time. The phone will need to be sent to our repair center. The Repair Administrator will assign RMA # for the repair that will need to be written under our address on the outside of the package being sent. The phone will be tested and inspected for quality assurance while in our facilities.

Regarding about the front camera, the SGH-I897 does not have a front camera. If you are referring to the lenses on the front of the device, there are 2 lenses at the front of the SGH-I897 handset.

One is the Ambient Light Sensor, which will report to the handset the amount of light that is near the sensor. The ambient light sensor is utilized for automatic backlight brightness. The other one is the Proximity Sensor, which allows the handset to perform certain functions based on objects detected near. This allows the handset to disable the touch screen while on a call to prevent unintentional activation of on screen options during a call.

Apparently, we do not have any available software nor drivers that you would be needing for you to connect the phone to the computer.

If you are going to transfer media files from your Samsung Reality™ Touchscreen Cell Phone (SCH-U820) to the computer, you may do USB mass storage so you could transfer them to the computer.

For you to connect the phone to the computer, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a USB data cable, once you already have the requirements, and then do the following:

If the microSD memory card came from another phone and you could not saved any files on it. Try to format the microSD memory card using your phone so that the phone will recognize the microSD memory card inserted in it.

To format a memory card follow the steps below:
1. Insert a memory card into the memory card slot.
2. From the standby screen, press Menu.
3. Press Settings & Tools.
4. Scroll down then press Memory.
5. Press Card Memory.
6. Scroll down then press Format Card.
7. Press Yes to confirm Formatting the Memory Card.

To move or copy Photos or Images to a memory card follow the steps below:
1. Insert a formatted microSD card into the memory card slot.
2. From the home screen, press Menu.
3. Press Media Center.
4. Press Picture & Video.
5. Press My Pictures.
6. Press the desired Image.
7. Press Options then press Move to Card.

To use the USB Mass Storage feature follow the steps below:
1. Connect the USB data cable to both the PC and handset.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can do to connect your phone
with your computer.

1. Reboot your computer by powering it off and unplugg the power cable and wait for atleast 30 minutes before powering on the computer again.

2. Use a different USB port.

3. Update the driver on your computer.

Here's how:

- Click on START.
- Click on RUN and type in "devmgmt.msc" and hit OK.
- The Device Manager box will appear. Highlight the red marked drivers from the Universal Serial Bus Controllers and right click then click on "Properties".
- Go to the "Driver" tab and press "UPDATE DRIVER".

Can someone please help me?

My Samsung Reality cell phone is stuck on the white opening screen (displays verizon wireless logo). I tried turning the phone off and removing the battery. No luck. Please tell me how to get off this screen so I am able to use my phone. I would REALLY appreciate it!
