Hi, I tried this and it works. If you can use google to search for the required calculators then this should be helpful. I used it with my Reality and it worked like a charm! This from another person but here is the meat and bones of what you need to know.

I can't post the URL link here so for the whole blog post, Google Search: NAM2 LOCKOUT MEID HEX # SOLVED. (Covered with a SAMUNG ROGUE)

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX YOUR PHONE: Your first step is going to be to find a HASH CALCULATOR such as HashCalc. Step 2 is simply to ensure that you calculate the SHA-1 for the MEID HEX number located on the back of your phone under the battery. When doing this ensure that you are inputing the data as HEX data. Take the last _6_ characters from this calculated sha-1 sum. You will use this to find your unlock code by adding 80 in front of those to get something that looks like 80XXXXXX. This number you will enter into the Windows Calculator (OR any scientific calculator that can conver HEX to DEC) As stated from here you enter this 7 digit hex code into the calculator and select the DEC radio button afterward. It will convert the number to decimal format. USE THE LAST 4 OF THIS NUMBER TO UNLOCK YOUR PHONE.... THIS IS YOUR UNLOCK CODE.

The phone doesn't have any configurable options to add ringtones on text alert.

However, you can assign a ringtone to a specific contact.

Here's how:

1. Go into Contacts, tap on a contact, press Menu Key and tap Edit
2. Tap on Phone.
3. Scroll down to show fields for Groups or Ringtones.
4. Tap on the desired selection and make the choices.

After dropping my Reality I had the same problem. would not turn on. I pulled the battery and found one of the little gold contacts in the battery compartment bent so it was not making contact with the battery. I carefully bent it back where it beonged with tweezers and reinstalled the battery and it has worked fine ever since. Good Luck.

Unfortunately, there is no support for the use of our standard phones with a Macintosh computer, nor does Samsung offer compatible software. The only handsets for which we provide limited support for connection to a Mac are the PalmOS handsets offered for use on the Sprint Network.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this presents.
However, it may be possible to use the mass storage feature of your device to connect to your Mac and drag and drop media files between your device and Mac computer, using Mac’s Finder tool.

You may use a USB cable and use the mass storage mode on your device.

Unfortunately, there is not an option to load a specific language pack to existing models. The phones are manufactured to the language specifications of the region in which they intended to be used. Some phones have English and Spanish capabilities and some have English, Spanish and French. However, once released, the phones do not have an option to add a language pack or alter the platform to include other languages. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

-From the standby screen, press Menu
-Press Settings & Tools
-Press Phone Settings (7)
-Press Security (8)
-Enter the lock code, default password is the last 4 digits of cell phone number
1. Do software reset: Press Reset Settings (6)
-Press Yes to confirm resetting the handset to factory default settings
-The phone will now restart
2. Do hard reset: Press Restore Phone (5)
Press Yes to confirm resetting the handset to factory default settings
Press OK at the reprogram prompt
Enter the lock code, default password is the last 4 digits of cell phone number
Note: Press *228 and SEND after the power cycle to re-program the phone

After your Samsung U820 is reset, you have to treat it as a new phone, add your favorite thing to it again.

How do I get "No Shortcuts" off my home screen?

On every screen of my phone, there is a "widget" that I cannot seem to get to go away. On one, there is "no shortcuts". On another, there is a screen with a picture and "get new" and "set" under it and I hit set and it doesn't go away. It is really annoying. Help....

Could be one of two things:
1. The picture is larger than 2048x1536. This is the camera's max resolution and it seems to cause problems if you use larger pictures, try resizing it.

2. The picture resides on the memory card. As far as i can tell when you set a wallpaper it copies it somewhere on the phone temporarily but things tend to be more stable if you first copy the picture to the phone's memory and then set it as a wallpaper.

Why does the wallpaper keep changing back to the default screens?

I have changed the wall paper to personal pictures. They change back to default screens sometimes a couple days go by and sometimes only a couple minutes. Also the clock on the lock screen is not always accurate. I have had the software update but that did not fix this problem.

Using the Mass Storage mode of the phone, you can be able to transfer files like photos from your Samsung Reality to your computer or vice versa. Just follow the steps below for the instruction of setting the Mass Storage mode of the phone.

Mass Sorage

To use the USB Mass Storage feature follow the steps below:

1.Connect the USB data cable to both the PC and handset
2.From the home screen, press Menu
3.Press Settings & Tools
4.Press Tools (2)
5.Scroll down then press USB Mass Storage (0)
6.The display will now show "Connected to the PC..." Calls Disabled"
7.The PC will now show a new removable disk in Windows Explorer
8.Select the desired action (such as Open folder to view/copy files) and click OK
9.After copying selected files from the PC to the microSD card, inserted in the phone, touch DISCONNECT on the phone to restore phone service then touch Yes to confirm
