Thank you for your correspondence. VZ Navigator® uses GPS positioning to tell you where you are, what’s nearby, and to give you directions quickly and easily. With audible turn-by-turn directions, you can locate points of interest in the U.S., including landmarks, restaurants, and even ATMs.

VZ Navigator requires service activation from the service provider which Verizon Wireless. You may call up their Customer Care toll free number at 1-800-922-0204 for further assistance.

Once you've activate the VZ Navigator, from the Home screen press the center key for Menu> VZ Navigator. The first time you launch VZ Navigator, you’ll be prompted to download and install the application, and to agree to the terms and condition of the service.

Note: To use VZ Navigator, it is also important that the "Location On" setting is enabled. From the Home Screen press the center key for Menu> Settings & Tools> Phone Settings> Location> Use the Directional Key to highlight "Location On" and then press the Center Key for OK

Question

I cannot change the the camcorder quality setting on my Samsung Convoy SCH-U640.

It is stuck on Economy. The options show Fine, Normal, or Economy but it is set to Economy but I cannot choose a higher resolution. Why is that?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Try to do a soft reset on the phone by powering it off and removing the battery then placing it back again to reboot the handset.

Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. Configuring the number of rings before a call goes to voicemail is something which is configured by the Service Provider by editing your account with them. This is not a setting which can be configured on the phone itself as it is part of the network services by your provider. To adjust the Ring Count, we recommend contacting the Service Provider for assistance with this issue.

Unfortunately, Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the Samsung Convoy (SCH-U640) and a personal computer.

However, you may contact your Service Provider for an application or service you may acquire for you to transfer Outlook information to the phone.

Soft Reset: Turn of the phone. Remove and put back the battery after a couple of minutes (2-3).

How do I change earpiece volume for mp3 playback?

Trying to play MP3 through cars audio system, plays well, but I can't change the volume. It is set very low and the volume keys have no effect. I can see the volume setting while playing music, but I cannot increase the volume?? Help!! Thanks.

If you have a data plan for internet connection, there is no configurable option to disable it on the phone. You may call your service provider for more information about this matter. However, you may edit or change the default short cut keys. You can replace the shortcut keys with the desired application.

To change a shortcut key follow the steps below:

1. From the standby screen, press OK for Menu.
2. Select Settings & Tools (9).
3. Select Phone Settings (6).
4. Select Set Shortcuts (2).
5. Select from the following:
◦Set My Shortcuts (1), to customize the right navigation key Shortcuts.
◦Set Directional Keys (2), to customize the up, down and left navigation keys.
6. Highlight the desired Shortcut Key.
7. Press OK for Set.
8. Highlight the desired Shortcut Key category from the Shortcut Key list, using the navigation keys.
9. Press OK to save the Shortcut Key settings.

Question

Why can't by cell phone (SCH-U840 OR SCH-U640) pair with Ford my touch.

It will not pair and if you force it in reverse. Then you can hear a call coming in on my touch but can not answer it on the my touch or on the phone. It also blocks out going calls when in the car and the car is on. I am upset because Verizon wireless assured me it would work in the car I was buying because it had blue thoth.
