Hello sherryo38!

We can do minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

If the phone has experienced damage or is out of warranty by date (it was purchased more than one year ago) the standard charge will likely apply for the repairs to your phone. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this presents.

Again, we thank you for comments and appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Thank you for your inquiry. The Volume button at the side of your Samsung Convoy (SCH-U640) would be the volume button for the ringone and the ear piece volume of the for incoming/outgoing calls. There's no other confgurable option to increase/decrease the volume for the ringtone and for the ear piece of your handset.

Hi there.

The Convoy handset uses a predictive text dictionary called T9. The T9 dictionary contains thousands of words, including proper names. If, however, T9 doesn't understand the word being entered, it can be added to T9's dictionary so that it will recognize the word the next time it is entered. Once a word has been added, there are no options for deletion.

However, you can change the default Text Entry Mode by doing the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Message
Press the left soft key for Settings
Select Entry Mode (2)
Highlight one of the following:
-T9 Word (1), for Word predictive text mode, based on a built-in dictionary
-Palabra (2), for Spanish predictive text mode, based on a built-in dictionary
-Abc (3), for Alphabet mode, upper case followed by lower case
-ABC (4), for Alphabet mode, in upper case
-123 (5), to enter the numbers on the keypad
Press OK to change the default text input mode

Question

I just bought a new Convoy and use the calender to schedule all my meeting reminders on. Problem is when an alert goes off I can not turn it off.

I have tried every combination of buttons I can think of and it just keeps going off. Sometimes a few minutes after I shut it off and sometimes only a few seconds. I end up having to delete the appointment. These are set to repeat every week which means after I delete it I have to go back in and reenter it.
