Greetings!

Here are the steps on how to tranfer files using your memory card:
Mass Storage

The handset's mass storage feature allows the transfer of Pictures and Video files directly from a PC to the microSD memory card, inserted in the phone. In order to use this option, the microSD memory card must be formatted by the phone to create the necessary folders. For instructions on how to format a microSD memory card.

Important: Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

Warning: Formatting a memory card will permanently delete all current content.

To format a microSD memory card follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Highlight Settings & Tools (9)
Select Memory (8)
Select Card Memory (3)
Press the right soft key for Options
Select Format Card (1)
Highlight Yes, using the navigation keys
Press OK to confirm formatting the microSD memory card

To transfer files, using the Mass Storage option, follow the steps below:

Insert a formatted memory card into the memory card slot

From the standby screen, press the OK key for Menu
Select Settings & Tools (9)
Select Tools (2)
Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot
Select USB Mass Storage (8)
When successfully connected, the phone will show Connected to the PC... and Call Disabled on the display
If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually
Navigate to the location of the files on the PC
Drag n Drop or copy & paste the file(s) into into the phone's My_Pix or My-Flix folder

To download pictures between the phone and the computer, all you need to have is a memory card and a genuine data cable.

To transfer photos using this option, follow the steps below:

Insert a formatted memory card into the memory card slot
From the standby screen, press the OK key for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot

MP3 ringtones are limited to those downloaded from the Verizon Media Store. Although the handset offers the ability to playback MP3 files, synchronized to the memory card or phone, there are no configurable options available to assign those MP3 files as ringtones.

Question

I have not been able to turn off my SCH-U640.

I try to turn off the phone, and it comes right back on. I did a couple of web searches and see several people asking the same question, but no solutions. The phone seems to work other than I can not turn it off and it tends to turn itself off while charging.

Most issues like this may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the

Is the Convoy's bluetooth specs the same as any of the other Samsungs?

My Convoy is not listed for my car's bluetooth. However, about 60 other Samsungs are. Is this phone's bluetooth compatible w/any of the other Samsung models?

Samsung Phones have different supported Bluetooth Profiles.

If the the SCH-U640 is not listed for the Carkit that you have then you will be unable to pair it or you will be having a connectivity problem.

Phone's Bluetooth Capability for Hands-free devices depends on the model and type of software of the carkit or hands-free device.

A similar question was asked but all the information was how to download from the PC to the Phone, I want to know how to do it the other way and I am not talking about pictures on a removable SIM card but from the phone itself. I have several and want to get them off the phone and onto my computer

We do not have any available software for the SCH-U640 that will allow you to transfer pictures from the phone to the computer.

Here are the available options that you can use in transferring pictures from the phone to the computer.

- Via Mass Storage
- Via Bluetooth
- Via E-Mail Picture
- Via Verizon Online Album

The “AA” symbol on the phone means Auto Answer or Auto w/ Hands free. This pertains to when you receive an incoming call, then that will be answered automatically with a 5 second delay.

If you want to change the answer option on the handset, follow the steps below.

1. From the home screen, press for MENU
2. Go to Settings & Tools.
3. Press for Call Settings.
4. Press for Answer Options

• Flip Open: Calls are answered when the phone is opened.
• Any Key: Calls are answered when any key is pressed.
• Auto w/ Handsfree: Calls are answered automatically with a 5 second delay.

4. Highlight the method you wish to use for answering calls, then press for MARK. Press right soft key for
Mark All to select all options. Press left soft key for Done.

If you’re trying to purchase for a memory card for your handset, then you can directly order it from our Samsung Accessory Department (1- 888-987-4357) and follow the prompts that will lead you to be connected to our Accessory Team. Also, you may try to go to your Service Provider store to check if they have available memory card for the phone.

Tip: The maximum storage size of the memory card compatible for the phone is up to 16 GB.

As checked on Samsung website, there's no driver to download for Model SCH-U640, you may check the website periodically about the availability of it. However, if you will be using the driver inorder to connect the phone to a PC then all you have to do is to configure the USB settings to Mass Storage. The SCH-U640 (Convoy) handset has the capability to transfer files directly between a PC and a memory card (residing within the handset) or the phone memory with a Samsung USB data cable, using the mass storage or Sync Music feature.

To connect to a PC follow the steps below:

Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
While in stand by mode press the OK button
Choose Settings & Tools (9)
Choose Tools (2)
Choose USB Mass Storage (8)
Press OK to Disconnect when finished

Note: When connected to a computer, the handset is unable to make or receive calls
WARNING: Do NOT disconnect the USB cable from the PC or handset during file transfer as this may cause damage to the handset or PC

If connection is unsuccessful, kindly try to check the following....

There are no configurable options to change the number of vibrations when receiving a text on the phone, it's default on it. And all of the default settings of the phone are part of its operating system that we cannot alter.

Hi!

It means that your phone is on Auto Answer mode. You can change it by going to Phone Settings > Call Settings > Answer Options.

Greetings!
Pertaining to your query, you can only unlock the phone through going to settings and only on the ON POWER UP option of the phone, however if you intend to do that please follow the steps below:
To enable or disable the Phone Lock follow the steps below:
1.From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
2.Select Settings & Tools
3.Select Phone Settings
4.Select Security
5.Enter the code then press OK (Default is last 4 digits of your cell phone number)
6.Select Phone Lock Setting
7.Highlight either Unlocked or On Power Up then press OK
8.Select Lock Phone Now to immediately Lock the Phone
