Thank you for your inquiry.
Your phone’s internal antenna is located along the bottom back of the
phone. Do not block the antenna; doing so may affect call quality orcause the phone to operate at a higher power level than is necessary.

Thank you for your inquiry. Here are the steps on how to connect your phone to your computer to transfer photos.
The handset's mass storage feature allows the transfer of Pictures and Video files directly from a PC to the microSD memory card, inserted in the phone. In order to use this option, the microSD memory card must be formatted by the phone to create the necessary folders.
To transfer files, using the Mass Storage option, follow the steps below:
1. Insert a formatted memory card into the memory card slot
2. From the standby screen, press the OK key for Menu
3. Select Settings & Tools (9)
4. Select Tools (2)
5. Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot
6. Select USB Mass Storage (8)
7. When successfully connected, the phone will show Connected to the PC... and Call Disabled on the display
8. If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually
9. Navigate to the location of the files on the PC
10. Drag n Drop or copy & paste the file(s) into into the phone's My_Pix or My-Flix folder.
WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT USB CABLE DURING THE FILE TRANSFER

Should you desire additional assistance for the issue, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Question

How can I play my own MP3 on my Convoy?

I am a musician. I write and record original music. I own the copyright. I am able to covert my finished pieces to MP3 format. I can email them, save them onto CDs and have them downloadable from my website. I have purchased a 16 GB micro SD memory card for my Samsung SCH-U640. I can move MP3s onto the card from my PC and from the card to the phone. I see them on the phone but they will not play. Why won't the Samsung SCH-U640 play them? These same MP3 files play without problem on a myriad of other devices. What am I doing wrong? How can I play these MP3s on my Samsung SCH-U640?

VZ Navigator puts all the advanced features of the latest GPS devices and systems on your wireless device—at a fraction of the price.
VZ Navigator provides:

• Heads-up, voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions with auto-rerouting if you miss a turn.
• Local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the U.S.
• Detailed color maps that can be quickly panned and zoomed.

With VZ Navigator, you’ll know exactly where you are, what’s around you and how to get there.
Download, subscription, and airtime required for use; only in National Enhanced Services Coverage Area; accuracy and completeness of information is not guaranteed; information about location of device will be used to deliver service.

Getting started with Location-Based Services (LBS) Verizon Wireless values your privacy. Because of this, your wireless device is defaulted to only acquire your location when you dial 911. To use Location-Based Services, you must first enable location services on your wireless device:

1. From the home screen, press OK for MENU.
2. Press 9wxyz for Settings & Tools > 6 mno for Phone Settings > 6 mno for Location.
3. Press the Directional key (OK) up to highlight Location On.
4. Press OK to set. Confirmation message will appear on the screen.

NOTE: Even when your activation switch is set to Location On, your wireless device’s location is still protected. For your privacy, you must “opt out” of all LBS applications. No one will be able to access your location until you activate an LBS application.

Most issues may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

If the phone has experienced damage or is out of warranty by date (it was purchased more than one year ago) the standard charge will likely apply for the repairs to your phone. Charges start at $65.00 and can increase, depending upon the nature and severity of the issue. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

Hello Duffy!

There's no need for a driver or software for you to connect your phone to your PC. What we need to do is to configure the settings of your phone for proper connection.

The handset's mass storage feature allows the transfer of MP3 files directly from a PC to the microSD memory card, inserted in the phone. In order to use this option, the microSD memory card must be formatted by the phone to create the necessary folders.

Please Note: The minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

Note: If the Bluetooth feature is currently active on the phone, USB communication will not be available. To transfer files to your phone, turn off the Bluetooth functionality.

WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT USB CABLE DURING THE MP3 FILE TRANSFER

1.Insert a formatted memory card into the memory card slot

2.From the standby screen, press the OK key for Menu

3.Select Settings & Tools

4.Select Tools

5.Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot

6.Select USB Mass Storage

7.When successfully connected, the phone will show Connected to the PC... and Call Disabled on the display

8.If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually

9.Navigate to the location of the MP3 files on the PC

10.Drag n Drop or copy & paste the MP3 file(s) into into the phone's My_Music folder

Press the Speakerphone key, located on the right side, to switch from using the earpiece to the speakerphone before or during a call. Use the volume keys to adjust the volume. Press the Speakerphone key to disable the speakerphone for privacy. After the call has ended the speakerphone function turns off automatically.

You will see the speakerphone icon on the bottom of the handset display to signify the speakerphone option is enabled.

Warning: Due to higher volume levels, do not place the phone near your ear when using the speakerphone feature.

Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the handset and a personal computer or for using a Verizon Handset handset as a modem for a personal computer. However, depending on the model, there may be a media card slot located on the side of handset or in the battery compartment that allows information to be transferred to a personal computer with the use of a media card reader.
you might be able to use VZAccess Manager. Due to this you will need to contact Verizon Wireless for support. This method of connectivity is unsupported by Samsung.

The SCH-U640 (Convoy) handset has the capability to transfer files directly between a PC and a memory card (residing within the handset) or the phone memory with a Samsung USB data cable, using the mass storage or Sync Music feature. It doesn't require to have any drivers or softwares like PC Studio for you to connect it to your laptop.

Note: When connected to a computer, the handset is unable to make or receive calls

WARNING: Do NOT disconnect the USB cable from the PC or handset during file transfer as this may cause damage to the handset or PC

To connect to a PC follow the steps below:

1.Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
2.Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
3.Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
4.While in stand by mode press the OK button
5.Choose Settings & Tools
6.Choose Tools
7.Choose USB Mass Storage
8.Press OK to Disconnect when finished

WARNING: Do NOT disconnect the USB cable from the PC or handset during file transfer as this may cause damage to the handset or PC
