1. From the menu, select Settings and Tools.
2. Select Phone Settings.
3. Select Voice Command Settings.
4. Select TXT Msg Readout.

Question

How can I get the front display to light up without opening the phone?

With my old lg phone, I would just hit one of the side buttones (volume, usually) and it would light up the front display. I can't figure out a way to read the clock on this Samsung phone without opening it to make the front display light up.

It is possible to hear an echo while you're in a call, if the other person on the line uses the handsfree/speaker phone.If not, you may try placing a call in a different location.

How can I download photos from my convoy phone to my computer?

I plugged my phone into my usb on my computer and it asks me to insert a disc, which was not in the original packaging. I can access the phone memory but I am unable to download any photos that are on my phone.

Thank you for your inquiry. You may try to do a soft reset for your phone. Turn off the phone, remove the

battery and put it back in to the phone for 5-10 seconds. This is to refresh the phone. You may also restart your computer. I also included here the link for propely connecting your phone to your computer. Please check the link below.

How to eliminate voice announcement of incoming and outgoing calls on my Convoy

I don't like having the name of my caller announced to the whole mall or family group. How do I adjust the Convoy to just sound the ringtone without the name of the caller. I can look at the phone and see who is calling.

Hi!

To change the default Text Entry Mode follow the steps below:

From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Message
Press the left soft key for Settings
Select Entry Mode
Highlight one of the following:
T9 Word, for Word predictive text mode, based on a built-in dictionary
Palabra , for Spanish predictive text mode, based on a built-in dictionary
Abc , for Alphabet mode, upper case followed by lower case
ABC, for Alphabet mode, in upper case
123 , to enter the numbers on the keypad
Press OK to change the default text input mode

Good day!

One of the reason why you cant see the name of the person calling is that maybe you have saved the number to the phones memory and to the sim card,

try deleting the contact`s profile again in both sim card and memory card then enter again the number of the contact and save it on the sim card`s memory or on the phone`s memory.

For this phone model Samsung Convoy™ (SCH-U640), we don't have procedures for importing contacts from the old phone or from email accounts. However, you may contact your service provider and check with them if they backup your contacts and transfer it to your phone over the air. You may call up their Customer Care toll free number at 1-800-922-0204.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Would you like to put pictures coming from a different device (ex. computer)? If that is so, you can use the mass storage feature of the phone.

The handset's mass storage feature allows the transfer of Picture files directly from a computer to the microSD memory card, inserted in the phone. In order to use this option, the microSD memory card must be formatted by the phone to create the necessary folders. Please check the link below for the details on how to format the memory card.

Please Note: The minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

To transfer files, using the Mass Storage option, follow the steps below:

1. Insert a formatted memory card into the memory card slot.
2. From the standby screen, press the OK key for Menu.
3. Select Settings & Tools (9).
4. Select Tools (2).
5. Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Power/Accessory Interface connector & the PC's USB slot .
6. Select USB Mass Storage (8).
7. When successfully connected, the phone will show Connected to the PC... and Call Disabled on the display.
8. If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually.
9. Navigate to the location of the files on the computer.
10. Drag n Drop or copy & paste the file(s) into the phone's My_Pix or My-Flix folder.

Tip: The phone supports the following image file formats:
.jpg
.png
.gif
.bmp (limit: 1280 x 960 or 3 MB file size)

Your phone gets its time from the local carrier, (that's why the time automatically is set even when you're out of town); you cannot set the clock manually. If the time is off, it's probably because your carrier needs to adjust their equipment. Call them and complain!
