Do I have to have a micro SD storage in order to download pictures from my samsung convey to my computer?

I live in the Detriot area and bought a black one for mine. It name is a MOBO with a magnetic closure and works ok. It is open on the sides and can occasionally push the buttons as you answer it. It also swivels 360 deg.

Thank you for your inquiry. As I have checked here with my resources, You can add the AT word on your phone’s T9 Dictionary.
Once a word has been added, there are no options for deletion.

To add a word to the T9 predictive text dictionary follow the steps below:

1.While composing a text, picture or voice message in T9 Word press the left soft key to switch input modes
2.Select either alphabet mode, Abc (3) or ABC(4)
3.Press the keypad letter once, twice, three, or four times to enter the letters of the word
4.The next time a message is created in T9 mode, using the same numeric key sequence, the new word will be an optional word for the T9 keys entered

To create a speed dial number for an existing Contact follow the steps below:

1.While in standby mode, press the OK button for Menu
2.Select Contacts (1)
3.Select Speed Dials (5)
4.Highlight the speed dial number key(s) to assign to a Contact phone number, using the navigation keys
5.Press the OK button for Set
6.Highlight the Contact to assign to the speed dial number key(s), using the navigation keys
7.Press the OK button to assign the speed dial number key(s) to the Contact’s phone number

oIf the Contact has multiple numbers, highlight the phone number to assign to the speed dial number key(s), using the navigation keys, then press the OK button

8.Highlight Yes, using the navigation keys
9.Press the OK button to set the speed dial number key(s) assigned to the Contact’s phone number

1. Switch on your Samsung device, enter the PIN if prompted and wait for it to fully load.

2. Open the "Menu," then scroll down to and select "Bluetooth." Turn the Bluetooth "On" and make the device "Visible."

Access the phone book in the other device, scroll down to a contact you wish to transfer and press "Options."

4. Select "Send Business Card" and choose "Via Bluetooth."

5. Wait for the phone to finish searching for devices, then select your Samsung device from the results list.

Hi, I'm not sure if you've gotten your answer, but I had the same question a while back and figured it out. The icon you're referring to means you have a missed call. If you go to the Recent Calls part of the menu and click on "Missed calls," it should disappear from your phone's front menu (you may also need to click on the missed call itself - I can't remember).

The SCH-u640 (Convoy) handset has three ways of transferring photos from phone to computer. And those are via Mass Storage, via Bluetooth and via E-Mail Picture. Each method will be discussed below. In addition, you may also contact your Service Provider if there could be other option.

>Mass Storage

The handset's mass storage feature allows the transfer of Pictures and Video files directly from a PC to the microSD memory card, inserted in the phone. In order to use this option, the microSD memory card must be formatted by the phone to create the necessary folders.

TO FORMAT microSD memory card, using the handset:

1. From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
2. Highlight Settings & Tools (9)
3. Select Memory (8)
4. Select Card Memory (3)
5. Press the right soft key for Options
6. Select Format Card (1)
7. Highlight Yes, using the navigation keys
8. Press OK to confirm formatting the microSD memory card

Please Note: The minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT USB CABLE DURING THE FILE TRANSFER

STEPS

1. Insert a formatted memory card into the memory card slot
2. From the standby screen, press the OK key for Menu

6. Select USB Mass Storage (8)
7. When successfully connected, the phone will show Connected to the PC... and Call Disabled on the display
8. If prompted, click "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen or open Windows Explorer manually
9. Navigate to the location of the files on the PC
10. Drag n Drop or copy & paste the file(s) into into the phone's My_Pix or My-Flix folder.

8. Select Picture Message (1)
9. Manually enter the email address, using the keypad
10. Press OK when all recipients have been entered
11. Highlight Text:, using the navigation keys
12. Enter the Message Text, using the keypad (up to 1,000 characters)
13. Highlight Sound, using the navigation keys
14. Press the left soft key for Sounds
15. Select either Record New (1) or highlight desired sound, using the navigation keys
16. Press OK to add the Sound
17. Highlight Subject, using the navigation keys
18. Enter the Subject Text, using the keypad (up to 80 characters)
19. Highlight Name Card:, using the navigation keys
20. Press the left soft key for Add
21. Select either of the following name card options:

 My Name Card (1), to add the previously saved name card
 Contacts (2), to add a contact as the name card

22. Press OK to add the selected name card to the picture message
23. Press OK to Send the Picture Message to the recipient(s)

Tip: You can send a Picture Message to up to ten recipients

Hi, if your are trying to transfer media files to your phone there’s no device driver needed. Here's a link on how you will be able to download your pictures and it includes a complete instructions and method of transferring media files.

Text messages can never be saved as a ringtone.

File formats supported for ringtone option are MP3, AAC, AMR and WMA.

Here's how you can turn off the Digit Dial Readout on the phone so that it will not say the number that you are pressing.

From the standby screen, press the OK button for Menu

Select Settings

Select Sound Settings

Select Digit Dial Readout

Highlight OFF and then press the OK button to set it.

Press the OK button again to save the changes.
