Thank you for your inquiry.

Apparently, Samsung does not offer a Data Kit package for purpose of transferring information between the Samsung Intensity™ II (SCH-u460) and a personal computer.

However, you may coordinate with your network provider for help with using the backup assistance to sync your contacts and calendars to the phone.

If you need additional assistance or information, please just write us again on this forum or you can chat live with a support agent by following the link below and clicking on Mobile Phones under Live Chat Support, or feel free to ask us on Twitter @GalaxySsupport or @samsungsuppoert for speedy responses in the U.S.

Question

Is there a software upgrade available so VZW Family Locator will work on the Intensity II (U460)?

I have tried repeatedly, and worked with several VZW techs, they said there must be a problem on Samsung's side. That most likely since it is a new phone there is a software update needed and it is has not been released yet, and my only option is to purchase a different device.

As of the moment, Samsung is unable to speculate when/if this software revision might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.

Should this become available, it will be posted on Samsung website in the Samsung Download Center.

The SCH-U460 (Intensity II) handset features three different methods to transfer pictures from the handset to a PC. Each are explained, in depth, further down the page. Note: Steps for transferring pictures may vary depending on your PC's operating system.

1. Via Memory Card

Important!: The plug-in microSD memory card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or bending. Use caution when inserting or removing the card and keep all memory cards out of reach of children.

To transfer pictures (via a memory card) to a PC requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The microSD memory card MUST first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the destination folders. Please note that the minimum size limit for the microSD memory card is 32MB. This phone does support the use of a microSDHC 16GB capacity memory card.

WARNING: Formatting the microSD Memory Card will permanently erase all data
To format a microSD memory card follow the steps below:

Pull the memory card cover out and turn it to expose the card slot.
Push the memory card into the slot until it locks into place
Caution: DO NOT force the card into the memory card slot, as this could damage the card and/or the handset
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Highlight Settings & Tools (9)
Select Memory (0)
Select Card Memory (3)
Select Format Card (8)
Highlight Yes, using the navigation keys
Press OK to confirm formatting the microSD memory card

Note: Locked pictures cannot be moved to a memory card

To transfer pictures (via a memory card), from the SCH-U460 (Intensity II) handset, to a PC follow the steps below:

Insert the formatted microSD memory card into the memory card slot
From the standby screen, press Menu
Press Settings & Tools
Scroll down then press Memory (0)
Press Phone Memory (2)
Press My Pictures (2)
Press Right soft key for Options
Select Move (2)
Press each desired Photo to check their box or choose Mark All
Press Done
Press Yes to Move the Photo(s) to the microSD memory card
Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card slot
Insert the microSD memory card into the memory card adaptor
Insert the memory card adaptor into the memory card reader
Insert the memory card reader into the USB slot on the PC
Navigate to the Photo location, inside the my_pix (or my_flix) folder, using Windows Explorer
Drag and drop or copy & paste the Photo or Video into the desired destination on the PC
Note: To transfer pictures or videos from a PC simply paste them into the my_pix or my_flix folder on the memory card

2. Via Message

To send a picture to an e-mail address follow the steps below:

From the home screen, press the Left soft key for Messages
Press OK for New Message
Press Picture Message (2)
To the right of 1 enter the recipients e-mail address
Press on each recipient to check their box(es) then press Done
Press the Text box then enter the Message text (up to 1000 characters)
Highlight the Picture box then press the the left soft key for My Pics
Higlight desired picture then press Ok to selct
Highlight the Sound box then press the the left soft key for Sounds
Press the Subject box then enter the Subject text (up to 80 characters)
Press the Name Card box then press to add My Name Card or a Contact
Press Send to forward the Picture Message to the recipient(s)
Note: Picture are only available within the Verizon Wireless Enhanced Services Area

Tip: You can send a Picture Message to up to 10 recipients

Hi!

Are you having an error message " MEMORY FULL" ?

If you still have enough space but you are still getting the error, it could mean that there are corrupted files hidden on the phone and needs to be wiped out. You can reset the phone to resolve this.

NOTE: Resetting the phone will delete all stored data on the phone including Contacts. Please make a back up of your contacts and files before doing so.

To restore the handset to the factory default settings follow the steps below:

While in standby mode, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Phone Settings
Select Security
Enter the lock code, default password is the last 4 digits of cell phone number, unless it has been changed, then press OK
Select Restore Phone
Highlight Yes, using the navigation keys
Press OK to confirm resetting the handset
Press OK at the re-program the phone screen
Enter the lock code again, default password is the last 4 digits of cell phone number, unless it has been changed
Press OK to confirm restoring the handset to the factory default settings
Note: Press *228 and SEND after the power cycle to re-program the phone

Thanks!

Hi mookey219!

Thank you for your correspondence. It is possible that the nearest tower on your location is currently updating. You may also have to update your Preferred Roaming List PRL to have a service. You may also try performing a soft reset on the phone by taking out the battery for at least 10-15 seconds and then put the battery back in and evaluate it. If it's still not working and still doing the same thing, you may call the Samsung Customer Support Center, as they can help you troubleshoot this issue in a timelier manner than we could through this forum.

At your earliest convenience, please call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

We appreciate your continued interest in Samsung products.

Question

My phone dies whenever I try to make calls.

I haven't had this problem for a long time, just a few weeks. But, since then, even time I attempt to make a call, my phone dies. This also happens when I receive a call. I've tried to charge it to full battery power, and then making a call, but it still does it. Right before it shuts down, it tells me that the battery is low, and shows the icon for low battery, even when it had been completely full seconds before. It does not do this, however, when I try to send a text. The text gets through just fine (although I have to go to messages and REPLY to a previous text in order for it to get through). I have even ordered a new battery, which solved the problem for about one day. The next day, the whole thing happened all over again. What is wrong with my phone?
