Thank you for your correspondence. The look like lock icon that you see on the phone is indicating that the Teletypewriter (TTY) mode is activated. This feature is use for deaf users; you may call up your service provider for further information about the TTY mode.

You'll need a Samsung USB chord. Transfer to you're PC and then on to the other device.

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the handset with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC

Thank you for your inquiry.

There are no configurable options available to transfer pictures or videos directly to a computer. However, you can send a picture via e-mail or to the Verizon Online Album.

E-Mail

To send a picture to an e-mail address, follow the steps below.
1. While in standby mode, press OK for Menu.
2. Select Media Center (1).
3. Select Pictures (2).
4. Select My Pictures (2).
5. Highlight the desired photo to be sent, using the navigation keys.
6. Press the right soft key for Options.
7. Select Send (1).
8. Select Picture Msg (1).
9. Manually enter the email address(es), using the keypad.
10. Press OK when all recipients have been entered.
11. Highlight Text:, using the navigation keys.
12. Enter the Message Text, using the keypad (up to 1,000 characters).
13. Highlight Sound, using the navigation keys.
14. Press the left soft key for Sounds.
15. Select either Record New (1) or highlight desired sound, using the navigation keys.
16. Press OK to add the Sound.
17. Highlight Subject, using the navigation keys.
18. Enter the Subject Text, using the keypad (up to 80 characters).
19. Highlight Name Card:, using the navigation keys.
20. Press the left soft key for Add.
21. Select either of the following name card options:
-My Name Card (1), to add the previously saved name card
-Contacts (2), to add a contact as the name card
22. Press OK to add the selected name card to the picture message.

There's no configurable option for you to connect the Samsung Gusto with your personal computer for the process of transferring data or media files between two devices. It is default on the phone and its software limitation. However, you may ask your service provider if they have an application may help you for this concern.

Apparently, we do not have any available software or drivers that would enable you to connect the phone to the computer. Although there are no configurable options available to transfer pictures from the SCH-U360 (Gusto) directly to a computer, you can send a picture via e-mail or to the Verizon Online Album.

Is there a way to return the Samsung_Gusto(SCHU360) to factory settings in order to get around the passcode?

I purchased this phone used not knowing that a passcode prevented me from doing anything with it. I'd like to know if there's a way to wipe the phone without having to enter the code.

How can I get the alarm feature to work on my SCH-U360 Phone?

I've had problems with the alarm since I first purchased the phone new. It would only "sound off" w/audible tone part of the time. I was wondering if this has something to do with the number of bars I have in various locations. I only have 3 at home where it never works. I double checked my alarm settings to rule out operator error & even set test alarms but to no avail. Thanks
