You may try to test your phone first with a different battery or charger, in that way you would be able to isolate on what's causing this problem.

If the problem resides on the accessories (battery or charger), then you have that replace. But if the problem resides with the phone, then you may need to submit your device for a service.

While we do build safety features into our handsets to protect our users from possible hearing loss or damage that can be incurred when high volume sounds are emitted in close proximity to the ear, we are unable to provide comparison data regarding our products and those made by other manufacturers.

Thank you for your inquiry. If you're trying to increase the volume of the handset, you may press the colume up button located at the left side of the phone. And to change the Ringtone follow the steps below:

1. While in standby mode, press the OK button for Menu
2. Select Settings
3. Select Sound Settings (1)
4. Select Call Sounds (1)
5. Select Call Ringtone (1)
6. Highlight the Ringtone, using the navigation keys, from the following:
*VZW Default Tone
*Bell 1
*Bell 2
*Melody 1
*Melody 2
*Melody 3
*Melody 4
*Melody 5
*Melody 6
*Melody 7
*Beep Once
7. Press the OK button to save the Call Ringtone changes.

Hi, please follow the steps on how to register the phone.

Enter the product group, the category, and on the serial number field enter the HEX or MEID of the phone located at the back underneath the battery. All other fields will automatically pop up.

*Tip when entering the HEX or Meid don’t include any special characters.

Question

Ringer will not ring but will vibrate

sch u340 ringer will not ring ,has no volume. Volume settings are set to max.
Have noticed that if during a conversation, I activate the speaker phone , then the caller voice is muted.
Is the ringer tied to the speaker phone? and if the speaker is defective is there an inexpencive fix?
PS the phone is only 2 months old and has not been dropped or dunked.

Does this happen even if the phone is not on Silent Mode? To check if the phone is on silent mode, kindly check the link below.

Should you experience the same issue after checking the sound settings on the phone, please try doing a soft reset by turning off the phone, then remove the battery and put it back in and power on the phone again.
