The same thing happened to my phone, so I took it in to my Verizon Wireless dealer to see what they had to say. They said it was a known problem with the knack and there is nothing to do to fix it. Since mine was still under warranty I would receive another one, so that appears to be your only option - get another phone.

Question

What does it mean when I turn on my phone and it says error log across the top of a blue screen?

The phone can only be turned off by removing the battery. It can then be turned back on but only with the error log message and then the keys are unresponsive.

You can go to your service provider so they can check on the phone and they can try reflashing the phone.

You can also call our Samsung Customer Support, so we can do minimal troubleshooting to your phone. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the handset requires service/repair, our Repair Administrators will create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the device. Provided there is no physical damage to the phone and the failure is not due to any type of liquid damage, the phone will be repaired under warranty.

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. As of the moment, there is no available software or driver for you to connect the phone to your computer. Samsung is unable to speculate when/if this driver might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.

Should this become available, it will be posted on Samsung website in the Samsung Download Center.

Regarding about your concern, there is no configurable option to transfer the contacts saved on the SCH-U310 handset to your computer. The phone does not have the capability to a computer. The phone also does not support Bluetooth connection.

However, you may contact your service provider for an application or service so that you back up or transfer contacts saved on the SCH-U310 to the computer.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Most issues may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting, like taking the battery out and outing it right back again (Soft Reset). You can also reset the phone to its factory settings.

If the phone has experienced damage or is out of warranty by date (it was purchased more than one year ago) the standard charge will likely apply for the repairs to your phone. Charges start at $75.36 and can increase, depending upon the nature and severity of the issue. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

For troubleshooting and questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

Question

U310 Problems - 1) Inbox not getting erased 2) Very slow response time 3) Sometimes, calls do not get d/c even after repeatedly pressing END btn.

This phone has been giving me a lot of problems from day one. Don't get me wrong (I am pretty satisfied with the other two Samsung phones that I have) and take it as a constructive feedback. This is probably the worst phone/software you have designed and needs serious fixes. And apart from the aforesaid problems there are more. Please help me.

Pertaining to your query, the speakerphone on the mobile is used when a person has some problems with hearing or if you would want to listen to the other party with a better audio and usually speakers are very sensitive to sound and will immediately capture noise or sound in the your area.

However if the noises are always evident on the call or is always present, and should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357 between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.
