Question

How do I unlock the camera on the phone?

Every now and then the camera on the phone locks up and I can't take any more pictures. A closed padolock icon appears when that happens. How do I avoid that happening and what do I do to unlock the camera?

Try hitting the power button, it toggles the camera lock. Displays it next to the number of pics remaining.

Hello and thanks for reaching out! I suggest trying a soft reset:

1. Remove the battery
2. Wait 2 minutes
3. Replace battery
4. Reboot phone

When will the operating system be updated to 4.0?

I would like to know when the operating system will be updated to 4.0?? The 2.3 is to outdated and I would like to upgrade to 4.0. Thank you

Question

headphones that came with the phone will not work with the music player

the headphones will not work to play music wit the music player, youtube, or with the play music app, but it works for phone calls. how do you get them to work so i can listen to music?

Hi blurose1974,

Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that the headphone that came with your phone only works for phone calls. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Please try to do a soft reset and reconnect your phone to your headset.

Soft Reset: Turn of the phone. Remove and put back the battery after a couple of minutes (2-3).

To isolate whether the phone or the headset is not working properly, you may try if a different headset would work on your phone or try a different phone with your headset.

You headset concern may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can set up warranty service for your accessory, if it is determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone.

IN WARRANTY REPAIR:
If it is deemed, after troubleshooting, that the accessory has failed, our Repair Administrators create a Return Material Authorization (RMA#) for the Accessory. Provided that the failure is not due to physical/liquid damage it will be replaced under warranty.

NOTE: A copy of the Proof of Purchase must be included with the accessory when sending it in for service.

OUT OF WARRANTY ACCESSORIES:
If the accessory is beyond the warranty period or falls outside of the terms of the Samsung Limited Warranty, it would require the purchase of a replacement device.

For information on what is and is not covered by The Standard Limited Warranty, we invite you to go view the full version of the warranty that covers all Samsung phones and accessories by going to http://www.samsung.com/us/support, select Cellphones > Your Carrier > Your Model click the "Select" button.

In the upper right on the next page you will see a link to the Warranty.

For troubleshooting or questions related to possible repairs we invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357).

A Customer Service Representative will be able to assist you between the hours 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time. The defective product will need to be sent to our repair center and a Proof of Purchase is required. The Repair Administrator will assign an RMA # for the repair that will need to be written under our address on the outside of the package being sent. The accessory will be tested and inspected for quality assurance while in our facilities.

Saving E-mail

The web-based e-mail in the inbox on my phone is deleted from the device after it is 10 days old. US Cellular technical support could not solve this. I would appreciate your assistance in doing so.

Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that the emails on your web-based e-mail is automatically deleted after 10 days on your SCH-R930. We do apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused you.

You may try performing a soft reset on the phone as a basic, by taking out the battery for at least 15-30 seconds, then put the battery back in again and turn it back on to refresh the software.

If the soft reset won't work, for the configuration of your email, please contact your email provider.
