My phone has trouble charging.

I have to bend my battery charger a certain way for it to charge. Could it be I may need a new battery or is there a problem with the phone? I have had the phone for 7 months.

I have this same problem, when i tried another battery and another charger still would not work. I contacted samsung and they told me it could be the charging unit on the phone it self and to take it into the local dealer to check to see if that is the issue, then send it in if it is if it is still covered.

Should I unplug the charger after it reaches 100%?

Samsung Galaxy Attain.
I usually keep the phone plugged into the charger during work hours, but I noticed that the phone advises you after 100% full that you should unplug it.
Can I safely leave the phone plugged to the charger during idle hours?

Battery life durations specified on our products are tested in our labs under multiple different conditions and the talk and standby times are a realistic average maximum dependent on customer usage variables. Some variables that may affect battery life are:
 Backlight set to always on (or set to stay on for an extended period of time)
 Ringtone set to higher volumes
 Vibrate settings turned on
 Using Internet Services including Text Messaging
 Making and/or receiving calls in an analog service area (even standing in an analog service area can reduce battery life)
 Making and/or receiving calls in a "weak" coverage area of 1 to 2 bars of signal strength (even standing in a "weak" signal area can reduce battery life)
 Using non-Samsung charging accessories

Please try to do a soft reset on the phone by powering it off and removing the battery then placing it back again to reboot the handset.

Question

After using an app, ex: Kindle, Foursquare, etc, the phone seems to lock up to where I can not make a phone call. Has anyone else had this issue?

I do a soft reset and remove the battery. Once the battery is back in and the phone is turned on, it works until I open an app again. I have been in to my carrier's local support center and they did a factory reset. They did this on Friday and late Saturday morning, it was doing the same thing. This is very frustrating and I was wondering if anyone else has reported this issue.

I suggest performing a horizontal calibration using the accelerometer.

1. From the home screen, touch Applications
2. Touch settings
3. Touch Display
4. Touch Horizontal calibration
5. With the device screen facing up, resting on a level surface, touch Calibrate.

If this is successful the blue ball will display in the center of the cross hairs and the message "calibrated" will display on the screen once completed. You may need to repeat these steps if the surface used was not completely level.

Question

Kies 2.3.x

I just downloaded and installed Kies 2.3.1.1.2044_18 for my new phone. However, when I connect the phone, I get an error message. If I click troubleshooting, it says that drivers need to be updated. It goes on for several minutes updating drivers. When I restart and connect the cable again, I get the same error. It already re-installed/updated drivers three times without luck.

How can I make this work? I need to update my contacts to use the phone.

Try completely removing kies and the drivers installed on your computer. Follow this link: http://bit.ly/IVHoMu and under "Manuals & Downloads" click on "Software." There, you will see the USB Driver Installation download.

From there, try reconnecting your device.

Is there a replacement battery for this phone that has more than the 1650 mAh juice of the stock battery?

The original 1650mAh battery of the Galaxy Attain does not last long with data use. Is there a better battery that can replace the original one, such as the 2100 mAh replacement, EB-L1G6LL, that is used in the Galaxy S III?

Question

I am having an issue with the wallpaper. When i set a picture as my wallpaper it does not expand to the other screen panels.

is there a setting that i need to change?
