Thank you for your inquiry.

Try the following steps below:

1. From Outlook on the computer, click on Calendar.
2. Select the specific date to synchronize. Click on File and select Save As from the drop down.
3. Save the calendar events to a file.
4. Log-in on the Windows Live e-mail associated with the Windows Phone 7 device and click on Calendar.
5. On the Windows Live e-mail calendar, click on Subscribe.
6. Select Import/Export from the drop down. Click on Import from an ICS file, then click on Browse to locate the calendar file saved.
7. Once calendar file is located, select the file and click on open.
8. Once calendar file selected, click on "Import to an existing calendar". Select either "Only keep the new events or Only keep original events". Finally, click on Import Calendar.
9. The calendar events will then load. At this point the process should not be interrupted.
10. Once the calendar has been successfully imported, click on Done.

Metro PCS: I Have Forgotten My Unlock Pattern. How Can This Be Reset On My MetroPCS SCH-R910 (Induldge) Phone?
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00035758&fm_seq=35926

The pattern lock can be removed with use of your credentials on your Gmail account. The input area for the credentials will be displayed after several failed attempts.

If you forgot the credentials, it is recommend to try to reset or retrieve the information via PC.

If the credentials cannot be entered correctly after several attempts, the phone will be locked out requiring service to remove the lock.

Turn off Shortcut keys on Sliding keyboard

When I am using the sliding keyboard, occasionally the keys will turn into Hotkey or Shortcuts and stop the text or email and pull up additional screens. I then have to close the phone and use the on screen keyboard. How do I stop this? I purchased this phone because of wanting an actual keyboard and not have to use the on screen

There is a setting in your Android device pertaining to Wi-Fi that you may or may not know exists: the ability to edit the Wi-Fi sleep policy. The default policy for an Android device connected to Wi-Fi is to shut off that connection when your phone’s screen turns off. What does that mean? It simply means your phone defaults back to it’s 3G/4G connection while you’re not actively using your phone.

Navigate to Menu> Settings> Wireless & Networks> Wi-Fi settings> and select the menu button again. You’ll be prompted to either scan or select advanced, select advanced then Select “Wifi sleep policy” , and you will have a couple of options to select from. Choose “Never”.

Hi morrison903,

Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that the battery life of your phone, SCH-R910 is short. We do apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused you.

Battery life durations specified on our products are tested in our labs under multiple different conditions and the talk and standby times are a realistic average maximum dependent on customer usage variables.

Battery power consumption depends on a number of factors, such as network configuration, signal strength, operating temperature, features selected, frequency of calls, and voice, data, and other
application usage patterns. Some variables that may affect battery life are:

-Backlight settings set to always on or a long amount of time.
-Ring tone settings set to higher volume settings.
-Vibrate settings turned on.
-Using Internet Services including Text Messaging.
-Making and/or Receiving calls in, or simply standing by in, analog service area.
-If you tend to be in a "weak" coverage area where your signal strength meter shows only 1 to 2 bars.
-Using non-SAMSUNG charging accessories can cause battery life and other issues, as well as void the manufacturer’s limited warranty.
-Application pattern usage.

Please check the information listed below for the charging time for your phone.

Initial charging time: 6-8 hours
Regular Charging time:2-4 hours

You may also drop by at your service provider's corporate or local store to try using a different battery or charger to check if it would work.

Do you have more questions regarding your Samsung Mobile Phone? For 24 hour information and assistance, we offer our new FAQ/ARS System - Automated Response System at http://www.samsung.com/support.

Hi.

This has been known to happen sometimes to Android devices, not just Samsung ones. Do this to fix;

The notification sound "bug" has been discussed and what you need to do is open up the file explorer of your choice (I use Root Explorer) and with r/w permissions, browse to /system/media and delete the ".Nomedia" file from there, and delete it from the /system/media/audio folder, and from any subfolders under /audio that you find it in.

Then reboot your phone, and enjoy those notification tones.

I think you need to be rooted for this to work.

Question

Why is the GPS not working?

My phone cannot get a GPS lock. It used to. I've tried resetting the phone to factory default, I've done all the software updates. I think my hardware is defective. I downloaded GPS Test and GPS Status. I've reset the "AGPS". Still, the GPS is not responding. :-( What to do?

Hi,

You may need to Calibrate GPS on your device. I had to do this to my friends Samsung Charge. It was not a fun process. I had to do it 3 times before the GPS started working. Then even when it did, it was still slightly off, but usable. Since there is no included app to do this you need to download an app from the Market/Play store to iniate calibration mode.

1. Download GPS Status from the market.

2. Make sure your GPS is turned on and open GPS Status.

3. Go Outside to do this with a clear sky on a non cloudy day.

4. Hold your phone in your hand flat. Spin it around in a figure eight 3 times. Then hold your phone on its side, spin it around in a figure eight 3 times again. Then, hold your phone right side up #end on end) and spin it around in a figure eight 3 more times.

5. Most Phones take effect right away but others need to reboot before the new settings apply. Go to Google Maps and see if your location is better.

Question

How come there are no aftermarket UICCs available, or are they?

When I bought the phone to my dismay it included everything accept the UICC. I went to the MetroPCS site for more info, and on there I learned that the UICC once installed in the phone can no longer be used in another phone, but it did not say that the phone itself would not accept another UICC.

Hi endeniable1,

Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that you would like to know why there are no after market UICCs available for your phone, SCH-R910.

SCH-R910 is a CDMA mobile phone. CDMA (Code division multiple access) phones, don't have a slot wherein you can put a sim card.

By design, there is no option for you to put a sim card on the phone. We do apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused you.

All Samsung products are manufactured to the specifications of the service provider for whom they are produced.

Some apps out on the market will not work well with the cell phones operating systems. I would have to take an app out of my phone if it started crashing and freezing up my phone. I know it stinks. There are some really cool apps that I would like to have, but I don't want my phone freezing all the time due to an app. not working with the phone.

Question

Why does my phone access random applications while I use the keyboard?

• When I slide out my keyboard the the email or calendar application will open.
• Also is there a way to stop my phone from always trying to find a network, thus killing the battery.
• Speaking of battery life...I have all but cleared half of my apps from my the deskstop, got rid of 90% of all downloads and have downloaded a task killer. Any other suggestions?
• GPS is always lagging "trying to find location".

Thanks, guys.

There are apps you can get from the market/play store to turn off 4G, but the problem with these apps is that when you get a phone call, 4G is turned back on. To disable the 4G LTE service until you turn it back on, dial **583385## and you will go to a LTE mode where you can choose CDMA only, which will turn off 4G, to turn back on, enter the code and choose enable global mode. This will allow 4G LTE and CDMA. If you select Enable LTE only it will turn on 4G but turn off CDMA meaning no phone calls. Whenever you change this setting, the phone needs to reboot for the changes to apply.

"Global is the normal mode
CDMA only is to disable LTE/4G
LTE Only will disable calls and texts but allow 4g data only (you probably wont use this)"

Please try to do a soft reset on the phone by powering it off and removing the battery then placing it back again to reboot the handset.

Question

How can I reset my Bluetooth system?

Hello:
I have a Galaxy Indulge SCH-r910 from Metro PCS and I love it, except... My Bluetooth was working fine when I got the phone last week but this week it doesn't want to connect with my car (2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Premium). It says the phone and car are "paired" but it will not connect. When I quick-tap the Genesis Coupe icon, it will simply say "pairing..." and freeze there. I have tried to remove the car from the phone's memory (and vice-versa) to no avail. Is there a way to reset the bluetooth or am I simply making a stupid mistake? Please help. Thanks!

k.
