why wont my SD card work with my phone?

i recently purchased a samsung character and a micro SD card & adapter to go with it. my SD card wont save any pictures, and it will not cooperate with my phone. what could cause this? what can i do to fix it? what kind of sd card should i get?

Trying to transfer pictures in text message. Always says "sending" and never sends.

Why won't transferring pics work? I can't receive them either. Says they are downloading, but never downloads. When I send them, never is complete.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the handset with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC

Hi there,

You can erase all of the messages in each or all of your folders from one convenient location.
Note: This function erases all messages in the selected box. To delete a single message, open the box from the Messaging menu, then delete the message from the Options menu while viewing the message content.

In Standby mode, touch Messaging > Options > Erase Messages.
Touch Messages, Drafts or All Messages to select the messages to erase.
Follow the screen prompts to confirm messages to erase

prompts, menus, and key-input.
1. In Standby mode, tap Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Phone Settings.
2. Tap Language.
3. Select one of the language options:

Question

Samsung Character powers on, but has black screen....

Hi. My Samsung Character recently started having an issue with the screen it seems. I had my phone in my hand earlier today, and all of a sudden, it kind of vibrated, like a quick jolt and then shut down. When I powered it back on, the screen was black. Touch screen still seems to be responsive. I can still receive phone calls and answer the calls, but cannot see who is calling, obviously. Phone is still recognized by computer when hooking up USB, but still no screen of any kind. I have tried a soft reset several times and done a battery pull several times, but nothing has changed. I am not completely against the idea of a full factory reset, if that will in any way help, but not sure that it will, and don't know how to do it. Any advice on this matter would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
Also....under the battery, there are two small holes, one marked with a G and the other with an R. What are these?? My first thought was some sort of reset button?? But..... have no idea what the one marked G would stand for. Just kind of wondering about that. Thanks in advance....

I am so sorry you are having issues! Unfortunately, yes, you will have to factory reset your device. Please remember to backup your personal data FIRST.

How to Hard key Reset:
1. Turn off device
2. Press and hold both VOLUME UP (+) and VOLUME DOWN (-) keys at the same time
3. Press the POWER key only until the phone vibrates once, then release only the POWER key
4. Continue to hold the VOLUME UP (+) and VOLUME DOWN (-) keys until the Android System recovery screen appears
5. Press the VOLUME DOWN (-) key to highlight WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET
6. Press the HOME key to select
7. Press the VOLUME DOWN (-) key to highlight YES-DELETE ALL USER DATA
8. Press the HOME key to select
9. Press the HOME key to reboot

Can I put Icons on one of my home screens?

Is there any way for me to put I cons on one of the 3 home screens that are not in the widget tray. The widget tray does not have a choice for the calculator or alarm clock, is there any way to put these on the screen so that I dont have to go thru the menu to get to them>

What type of sd card should i use in my Character

Hi I don't see any info on the sd card for my phone . Once the sd card is installed what type of data will it hold, music, photos, contacts info, etc? I just took the battery out to find the serial #, now my phone won't turn on. Please help!
