Question

Bluetooth issue

I have 2 SCH R630's on one of them if I use a Bluetooth headset, the internal earpiece won't work after the bluetooth is turned off until the phone is power cycled. The other R630 does not exhibit the same thing. I've checked the settings on both phones and they seem to be the same. Any ideas as to why the one unit won't function as needed after bluetooth disconnection?

Hi Jww0711,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Pictures and videos can be transferred to a PC by via a compatible USB data cable, sending a picture message or video message to an e-mail address, copying pictures or videos to a memory card or sending a picture or video via the Bluetooth FTP (File Transfer Profile).

Here is the link for the detailed instructions depending on the method that would be convenient for you.

Hi katiebrend!

Thank you for your correspondence.

Is the memory card were formatted using the Samsung Messager® Touch Cell Phone (SCH-R630)?

If no, we recommend formatting the microSD memory card using the phone, so that the microSD memory card will provide you designated folder where you can transfer pictures and videos.

To format a memory card:
1. Insert a microSD memory card into the memory card slot.
2. From the standby screen, touch Menu.
3. Touch Settings.
4. Touch Memory Manager.
5. Touch Card Memory.
6. Touch Format Card.
7. Touch Yes to confirm formatting the microSD memory card.

Note: Formatting the microSD memory card will delete all information saved on your memory card. I will suggest backing up first your files saved on the microSD memory card.

Tip: Make sure that the Bluetooth is deactivated on the tablet.

Connecting the phone to the computer:
1. Set the PC connection setting to Mass Storage.

Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > PC Connection > USB

2. Connect the compatible USB data cable to both the handset's Power/Accessory Connector and to a USB port on the PC.
3. The handset will now display "USB Mass Storage".
4. Open Windows Explorer.
5. Drag n drop or copy & paste the media filesto the handset.
6. Once finished disconnect the USB cable from both the handset & PC.
Note: It is now possible to drag and drop (copy & paste) music files between the device and the PC. It is recommended that separate folders for different media types be created on the memory card for better organization.

If the notification does not show up on the tablet or on the computer, try to turn off you tablet or connect the USB cable to another USB port on your computer.

Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Hi cbreusch!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Apparently, we do not have any driver or software available for the purpose of transferring data between the Samsung Messager® Touch Cell Phone (SCH-R630) and a computer.

If you are going to transfer media files from your phone to the computer, you may do mass storage so you could transfer them to the computer. For you to connect the tablet to the computer, it would require you to have the memory card inside the tablet and a data cable that is part of your standard box contents, once you already have the requirements, and then do the following:

If the microSD memory card came from another tablet and you could not saved any files on it. Try to format the microSD memory card using your tablet so that the tablet will recognize the microSD memory card inserted in it.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us with your question.

Please make sure that you're correctly pairing your device with the other phone. Steps for pairing are as follows:

To search for available Bluetooth devices:
1. From the Tools menu, select Bluetooth. The following options appear in the display:
• Add New Device
• Registered List
• Bluetooth Settings
2. Select Add New Device.
If Bluetooth is off, you are prompted to “Turn Bluetooth on?”.
• To turn Bluetooth on, press the Yes soft key.
“Place device you are connecting to in discoverable mode” appears in the display.
3. Place the Bluetooth device in discoverable mode.
4. Press OK button. Names of the available devices appear in the display.
5. Highlight the device you want to pair with your phone.
6. Press PAIR (OK button)to pair the selected device with the phone.
You are prompted to enter the passkey or PIN for the selected device.
Note: When pairing you phone with another Bluetooth device other than a headset or headphones, the same passkey or PIN must be entered on both devices (when prompted) for the pairing to succeed.
7. Enter the device passkey or PIN and press Ok button.
Note: you can use 0000 for the PIN of the Bluetooth.

Now, after you've paired your device successfully, please use the following steps to transfer data from your device to the other phone:

On the Samsung phone

While in standby mode, turn Bluetooth On
Change the phone’s Bluetooth Visibility to On
On the phone with MP3 files

While in standby mode, activate Bluetooth by turning it On
Search for new Bluetooth devices
Highlight the phone name (SCH-R630), using the navigation keys
Exchange the PIN Codes on both devices to pair the phones (the default code is “0000”)
Browse for desired file(s) (this would be your contact distribution list)
Transfer data from phone to phone
Accept exchanging data

Question

How do I access pictures already stored on my memory card on my new phone?

I have a 2G microSD card on which I've stored pictures taken on my old Samsung phone (SCH-r470). There is also music on my card. The music had no problem showing up on my new phone, but the pictures don't even register as existing. I've tried the steps outlined to move pics from card to phone and vice-versa (menu- multimedia- pictures- menu- move- to phone) and it doesn't work, as the phone doesn't recognize the pictures to begin with. I really love my pictures and I'm anxious to get them on my new phone. Help!
