Question

How to get a bluetooth headset to work with calls.

I purchased a jawbone icon to pair with the Profile. I updated the firmware on the icon and paired it without any problems. I am able to listen to music on the headset using the Profile's music player, but it will not work with calls. While it's paired calls will go to the phones speaker instead of the icon. Further, I have tried the icon on another cell phone and it works fine.
Is there something I am not doing right or is there a problem with the phone?

Please soft reset both bluetooth devices first meaning turning the phone off then remove the battery from it for about a minute then put it back in and turn on again. Then turn on both devices bluetooth connection.

To Turn on Bluetooth :

Press the Home Key
Press the Menu Key
Tap on Settings
Tap on Wireless and Network
Tap on Bluetooth settings
Tap on Bluetooth to turn on the radio

Note: The Bluetooth radio, when turned on, will display as the icon is seen in the status bar. To disable the Bluetooth radio, tap Bluetooth once more.

To change Bluetooth visibility options :

Press the Home Key
Press the Menu Key
Tap on Settings
Tap on Wireless and Network
Tap on Bluetooth settings

Note: The Bluetooth radio must be turned on in order to scan for nearby device. If the icon is seen in the status bar, skip step 6.

Tap on Bluetooth to turn on the radio
Tap on Discoverable

Note: To help increase security, the phone will have a 120 second time limit on discovery. If you are unable to establish connection within the time frame, simply tap Discoverable again to turn it on.

If pairing is unsuccessful, please delete or remove the previous bluetooth devices that have been paired on both handsets then pair it once again.

In order to remove a paired Bluetooth device, follow the steps below:

1. Press the Home Key
2. Press the Menu Key
3. Tap on Settings
4. Tap on Wireless and Network
5. Tap on Bluetooth settings

Note: The Bluetooth radio must be turned on. If the icon is seen in the status bar, skip step 6.

6. Tap on Bluetooth to turn on the radio
7. Tap and hold on the desire device
8. Tap Disconnect and unpair

Note: The device should be disconnected and the pair broken on the device.

Question

Bluetooth compatability with my car

I have a 2012 Audi A4. I had sucessfully used my old (OLD) phone with this car. Just purchased a Samsung Profile. I can set the phone and car up to recognize each other but the connection will drop without notice -- in my 12 minute drive into work for example it will drop three or four times. It will not even try to reconnect by itself, my passenger has to go back into the phones tools menu and manually reconnect it.

The phone book has NEVER been accessible via the car's interface. The recent call list will be available if I remove the car's bluetooth profile and re-create it from scratch.

Is there any hope, or do I return the phone?

How do I transfer pics from my phone to my computer?

Phone tells me the memory is full but I've either deleted photos or sent them to my e-mail. I don't have nearly as many pics in the phone as I used to but yet it's telling me that the memory is full! I'm at my witts end with this and thinking about changing to a different brand because I can't seem to get any help from you guys!! HELP

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the handset with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC

Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the handset and a personal computer or for using a US Cellular handset as a modem for a personal computer. However, depending on the model, there may be a media card slot located on the side of handset or in the battery compartment that allows information to be transferred to a personal computer with the use of a media card reader. For information on selecting the correct media card reader, please visit the Samsung Accessory website or check with a local computer store to purchase a media card reader compatible with both your computer and the media card type.

How do I scroll right or left on my new Samsung Profile?

I am in the Tone Room Deluxe and trying to find my ringtone that I downloaded from the US cellular website. I have pushed every button there is and cannot get it to go to Search or Manage on this screen. Cannot find it in the manual either. Can you help?

Please refer to the steps below.

To place the handset in Silent / Vibrate Mode follow one of the two methods below:

Method 1

To place the handset in Silent / Vibrate Mode, hold down the pound key (#) for about 2 seconds. To exit Silent / Vibrate Mode, perform the same action while in Silent / Vibrate Mode. You will see a confirmation message for Silent / Vibrate Mode, each time you enter or exit Silent / Vibrate Mode.
The US Cellular SCH-R580 (Profile) handset will vibrate rather than ring when you receive a phone call, message or alert while in Silent Mode.
Method 2

While in standby mode, press the volume key, located on the left side of the handset, then select either “Vibrate" or Silence All”. To disable silent / vibrate mode, perform the same action while in Silent / Vibrate Mode.
The US Cellular SCH-R580 (Profile) handset will vibrate, if enabled, rather than ring when you receive a phone call, message or alert while in Silent / Vibrate Mode.
